“The Prep Weekly”
The Preparatory Department’s Weekly update
Friday may 23rd 2014
A Message From Mrs Eaton-Jones
We should have known that a week that included 2 Sports Days and DCS would mean rain! We were lucky on Tuesday, but
the waterlogged pitch meant that the Inter-House Swim gala was slightly more appropriate than Sports Day for KS2. DCS
has been anything but a wash out however, with the Chamber Choir performance drawing the crowds on Thursday and
KS1 having a wonderful time there today.
Sainsbury’s vouchers are counted and the shopping list being drawn up – could you check around and see if you have a
last few that you could contribute to our grand total – thank you!
The new PTA met this week and plans are really coming together for the Swim BBQ – including a bouncy castle, water
walkers and the chance to fling wet sponges at those persuaded to sit in the stocks; I understand a short list of
‘volunteers’ is being compiled already! The rota for helpers for various activities during the Swim BBQ will be on the PTA
board outside my office after half term; please do sign up, even if only for a half an hour, thank you. Whilst talking about
PTA – PLEASE make sure you have booked the babysitter, dusted off your dancing shoes and let the PTA know your order
for ball tickets. It is going to be an amazing evening and a great way to start the Summer holidays.
It has been a very busy half term, enjoy a wonderful break over this next week and I look forward to hearing all about your
adventures as we come back for the last month of the summer term.
Friday June 20th is the new KS2 Sports Day date!
THANK YOU!
TP Holiday club
A massive thank-you to a seamstress extraordinaire!
The order forms are ready for collection and
completion by all those interested in joining
Holiday Club this summer. Each day will have a
mix of sporting and creative activities, some
gentle but purposeful learning to keep all those
skills fresh over the summer and of course Forest
School!
Pictured here are some of the girls who will appearing as choir girls
in the current Year 6 green screen ‘Muse Track’ film. Marcelle
Hamilton (mum of Evan in Year 1) was kind (and foolhardy) enough
to offer to help out with making the red cassock costumes and
ended up making all eight! As you can see, they look absolutely
fantastic, so a huge thank-you to Marcelle for doing such a splendid
(and heroic) job! The choir-girls, although performing in front of our
green screen, will appear to be inside Westminster Abbey in the
film. They presented Marcelle with flowers and chocolates, as a
small token for all the hours of work she has put in. Miss Parker
Please pick up a form from Carol in the office and
unless we contact you to say otherwise, you can
assume you have the days booked. We will
confirm ASAP, but realise that some of those
forms may not come in immediately, so please
don’t worry about your child’s place – it will be
reserved for you!
Trinity’s Got Talent
The wait is over – auditions took place earlier this week, the judges have met and discussed the acts and we can now
announce that the following acts have made it through to the final of Trinity’s Got Talent 2014!
Fabiha & Paige – singing
Taylor, Will & Dom – singing
Freddy – Caliban
Beth – singing

Miriam – singing

Congratulations to all those brave enough to audition this year, whether or not their act made it through to the finals. I am
always so impressed by the long list of names that goes up and I can only guess at how disappointing it is not to have got
through, as I would never have been brave enough to even have a go! You are all stars!
