All anglers can make Day Fishing bookings on a “First come, first served” basis, up
to 5 months ahead subject to availability.

Although well into summer these ducklings, with several
others having just arrived, are thriving and are becoming
very bold!!!
Report for mid-July to mid-Aug 2015
The Carp were late spawning this year and have only now settling down. During the period midJuly to mid-August, several Anglers broke their PB’s with quality Commons and Mirrors being
caught from Lake 1 (Carp) and large catches of Catfish (49 x 30lbs+ to 42lbs 10ozs) being made
from Lake 2 (Catfish/Carp).

During a short break Clive Lammin landed both Mirrors and Commons from both Lakes 1 and
3 and additionally Tench and Bream from Lake 3 (Mixed):

Perseverance paid off for Danny Cherry on the 17th July by landing a 18lbs Common late in
the day while his guest had a 8lbs Common.
On the 19th July Cliff Hills landed Commons of 17lbs 12ozs, 13lbs and 10lbs plus Mirrors of
8lbs and 6lbs.
Jason Tuckey returned on the 20th July for a 48 hour session and landed 13 x Carp including
10 doubles with 5 x Mirrors to 19lbs and 8 x Commons to 16lbs.
Fishing late evenings only, James Lane used Urban Baits nutcracker 18mm Wafter boilies to
land Commons of 20lbs 1oz and 8lbs 30zs on the 27th July and a 8lbs 1oz Mirror on the 28th
July. Returning on the 3rd August and using similar tactics over four more evenings, James
landed Mirrors of 20lbs 2ozs, 16lbs 3ozs, 9lbs 5ozs and 9lbs plus Commons of 12lbs and
10lbs.
Returning on the 28th July Paul Kitt landed a 18lbs 14ozs Common and a 13lbs Mirror.

Arriving on the 30th July for a 36 hour session Paul Coombes landed 12 x Carp between 17lbs
8ozs and 7lbs 8ozs. In addition a “Rogue” Kitten of 7lbs 8ozs was returned to the Cat lake.
Jason Farrington arrived on the 1st August for a 24 hour session and landed Carp of 2 x 14lbs,
12lbs, 2 x 10lbs, 9lbs and 5lbs plus a 5lbs Bream.
Arriving on the 1st August for a 6-day session, regular Kevin Oxley landed 11 x Carp weighing
from 6lbs 4ozs to 15lbs 11ozs.
Visiting on the 4th August regular Steve Hyder landed a 16lbs 12ozs Mirror and a 4lbs Bream.
In addition a tiny “Rogue” Kitten was returned to the Cattery (Lake 2).
During a day session on the 6th August regular David Kendrick caught a 14lbs 12ozs Common,
a 13lbs Mirror and a 1lb+ Roach all on spicy tuna and sweet chilli boilies.
The “last throw of the dice” on the 9th August resulted in a 16lbs Common for Richard Hoadley
when using fake maggot.
On the 10th August Dominic Ashby landed Commons of 14lbs 8ozs and 6lbs followed by
another 14lbs 8ozs Common the next day.
Arriving on the 11th August for a 24 hour session, Nigel Pearce and daughter Emma landed
Commons of 17lbs 14ozs, 15lbs 13ozs, 9lbs 1oz and 3lbs plus Mirrors of 15lbs, 10lbs 14ozs
and 10lbs 5ozs and all on boilies.
Regular Jason Tuckey arrived on the 11th August for a 24 hour session to land Commons of
17lbs 9ozs, 16lbs 9ozs, 16lbs 3ozs, 13lbs 3ozs, 11lbs 6ozs and 9lbs plus Mirrors of 12lbs 2ozs
and 8lbs and all on white pop-ups.

During a 6-day/night visit beginning the 12th July, regular Terry Keard was again into the
Catfish and using halibut pellet bait had a total catch of 773lbs 7ozs.

Returning on the 18th July saw regular Mark Davis landing Cats of 36lbs, 32lbs, 16lbs, 12lbs
and 10lbs.
Arriving on the 18th July for a 36 hour session Paul Coombes landed 15 x Cats from 10lbs to
34lbs.
Using halibut pellet bait on the 19th July Tony Payne had a 15lbs 8ozs Moggie while Tracy Cox
landed a PB 28lbs 3ozs Cat and again on the 14th August Tony landed Cats of 26lbs 2ozs and
10lbs 1oz while Tracy had Cats of 22lbs 1oz and 20lbs plus a 8lbs Carp.
On the 20th July and during a short break, John Ward landed 11 x Cats to 37lbs that weighed
in total 275lbs with a 3-day total of 435lbs including a 11lbs Carp.

Returning for a 1-week visit beginning the 18th July, Peter Scarth was soon into the Catfish
and using halibut pellet bait had a total catch of 616lbs 9ozs.

Arriving on the 23rd July for a 24 hour session Jason Tuckey landed Cats weighing 24lbs
11ozs, 19lbs 2ozs, 2 x Kittens and Carp weighing 16lbs 5ozs and 9lbs where halibut pellet was
the successful bait.
When returning on the 25th July Tony Payne landed 4 x Cats to 18lbs 6ozs plus a 9lbs 8ozs
Carp and all on halibut pellet.
During a 24 hour session beginning the 25th July, Paul Coombes landed 8 x Cats from 9lbs to
35lbs using halibut pellet bait.
The age old question – quality or quantity? During a 24 hour session beginning the 26th July
Bernie Day Snr landed 7 x Cats to 41lbs averaging 24lbs while his son Bernie Day Jnr landed
a 13lbs Common Carp and 17 x Cats to 39lbs averaging 17lbs 6ozs.
Arriving on 27th July for a short break, Nigel Castle landed Cats of 23lbs, 22lbs, 21lbs, 18lbs,
16lbs, 15lbs 5ozs, 8lbs 5ozs and 8lbs 4ozs plus Carp of 18lbs, 17lbs, 2 x 15lbs and 13lbs
while colleague Trevor Moran had Cats to 29lbs.
Congratulations to Eric Scott when returning on the 30th July landed a “40”. His catch
included Moggies weighing 42lbs 10ozs, 24lbs, 23lbs, 18lbs, 15lbs, 9lbs and 6lbs. Colleague
Peter Parsons also landed Cats of 22lbs 2ozs, 18lbs, 15lbs plus 4 x Kittens to 15lbs and on the
11th August Cats weighing 26lbs and 22lbs plus two “Kittens”.
Many congratulations to the “Dadds” family who during a break beginning the 1st August set
an amazing total of 6 x PB’s and uniquely achieved a triple set of family PB’s. They were soon
amongst the Cats and Carp (lbs) with Paul breaking his PB, Cath breaking her PB twice and
son Josh raising his PB three times:

Mike Brown arrived on the 2nd August for a 24 hour session and used halibut pellet to lure
Cats of 35lbs 14ozs, 26lbs 9ozs and a 6lbs kitten.
Returning on the 3rd August for a 24 hour session Jason Tuckey landed 7 x Cats weighing
36lbs 12ozs, 32lbs 2ozs, 22lbs 7ozs, 18lbs, 16lbs 14ozs, 14lbs 8ozs and 11lbs 5ozs.
Nick Burden arriving on the 6th August had a great 48 hour session using squid bait and
landing Cats totalling 517lbs+:

Dominic Ashby had a memorable Red Letter night on the 8 August landing 10 x Cats weighing 36lbs,
32lbs, 31lbs 8ozs, 30lbs 8ozs, 27lbs 12ozs, 27lbs 4ozs, 22lbs, 20lbs 8ozs, 19lbs 4ozs and 18lbs 12ozs
totalling 266lbs 2ozs with the following night producing more Cats of 36lbs, 26lbs, 21lbs and 15lbs 12ozs.
Using halibut pellet bait on the 9th August David Wayman landed Cats of 29lbs and 17lbs while
Rachel James had a PB Cat of 16lbs.

Arriving for a short break on the 10 August resulted in Bernie Day landing 30 x Cats to 29lbs including 7 x
20’s and a 14lbs Mirror; while Tracy had 18 x Cats to a 33lbs PB plus a 16lbs 8ozs Common.

During the 12 August regular Roy Prout landed Cats of 28lbs 2ozs, 24lbs 1oz, 19lbs 13ozs, 19lbs 8ozs,
15lbs 10ozs and 9lbs 7ozs.

Having nailed a couple of 20’s from Lake 1 (Carp) on the 27 July and 4 August, James Lane tried his

hand for the first time for Cats. Fishing only during the evening of the 13 August, James soon set his PB
with a 36lbs 4ozs Moggie and then raised it to a 37lbs 6ozs PB followed by a 28lbs 10ozs Cat the next
night.
Lake 3 (Mixed)
•
Returning on the 19th July Richard Hoadley and Dick landed numerous Carp to 10lbs 8ozs plus
several Bream and Perch.
•
Using luncheon meat and floating crust Martin Stokes landed 12 x Commons/Mirrors weighing
between 3lbs 8ozs and 9lbs on the 20th July plus a Bream of approximately 2lbs.
•
Regular Paul Evans used luncheon meat and corn to catch 10 x Commons/Mirrors weighing
between 3lbs 8ozs and 8lbs 12ozs plus 4 x Bream weighing between 3lbs 8ozs and 5lbs 12ozs
on the 20th July.
•
Returning on the 30th July Fred Rosier landed 3 x Commons to 7lbs 2ozs, a 4lbs 10ozs Mirror
and Bream of 3lbs 1ozs and 2lbs 8ozs and on the 11th August 6 x Commons to 4lbs 6ozs, a
7lbs 10ozs Mirror and a 2lbs 6ozs Tench.

The 2nd August Battle Maggot Drowners Angling Club match results were:
o 1st Keith Baker with 46lbs 4ozs consisting of Bream and Carp
o 2nd Luke Marsh with 39lbs consisting of Carp
o 3rd Ian with 11lbs consisting of Carp

2015 Leader Board
The Leader Board competition will again run throughout our 2015 Season and commence on
Saturday 28th February 2015. Prizes will be awarded for the following specimens caught by Sunday
18th October 2015:
•
£50.00 for the first verified 50lbs+ Catfish
•
£50.00 for the first verified 30lbs+ Carp
•
£50.00 for the first verified 8lbs+ Tench
In the event these “Target weights” are not met the above prizes will be awarded for the heaviest
verified Carp, Catfish and Tench specimens recorded in the Cabin Log Book by Sunday 18th
October 2015.
