Please be sure to go online and sign up for the
conferences that are coming up in February.
These conferences are designed as an
opportunity for you and your child's teacher to
review progress on the goals that were set at the
October conferences. Our fine arts staff
members are available during conferences and I
invite you to take the opportunity to connect with
these teachers and learn more about your child's performance in
these important parts of the Willowbrook program.
We are excited to embark on this year's Artist in
Residence program. Our theme, Better Together,
will come to life as we build a mosaic with
involvement from our entire school community.
And our "artists," will be our own dynamic duo of
Mr. Barker and Ms. Sendaydiego, an
accomplished mosaic artist in her own right!
We are looking for a number of parent volunteers to help with the
project when we are building the mosaic with the students April 3rd
-April 12th.
We will need parents to help during student sessions, as well as to
help with the physical work of breaking and sorting tiles, mixing
materials and grouting.
There will be some training involved during the afternoon of April 1st.

Prior to April we are in need of any ceramic tiles you might have lying

around the house from prior home improvement projects. Any and all
tiles can be brought to the school office.
Finally, if anyone has a connection with anyone in the flooring or tile
business who might be able to help us procure the tiles at economical
prices, please pass that information directly to Mrs. Sendaydiego via

Important Preschool and Kindergarten
Registration Information
PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2013-2014 Kid Connection Preschool will take
place on Wednesday, January 30th beginning at 8:00 a.m. We will
again have a 3-year-old program and a 4-year-old program.
Registration for both of these programs will take place on this day. An
original birth certificate and a $400.00 deposit is required for
registration.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
FEBRUARY 6 and 13, 2013
School District 30 will hold Kindergarten Registration for the
2013-2014 school year on:
Wednesday, February 6 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 13 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Parents and caregivers of all incoming District 30 kindergartners can
register for kindergarten during these times at Willowbrook School,
2500 Happy Hollow Road, Glenview. During registration parents will
have the opportunity to indicate their preference for morning or
afternoon kindergarten on a session request form. If necessary, a
lottery will be held to determine morning and afternoon placements.
One registration per person will be permitted except in the case of
multiple births.
In order to enroll for the fall, 2013 session, a child must be five years
old on or before September 1, 2013. An official birth certificate must
be presented at the time of registration. Hospital or baptismal
certificates cannot be accepted. Copies of an official birth certificate
can be obtained at the County Clerk's office in the county where your
child was born. In Cook County, the certificate can be obtained from
the County Clerk's Office, 188 North Clark, Chicago, Illinois 60602; or
the Skokie Courthouse at 5600 Old Orchard Road in Skokie, Room
149, Ph. 847-470-7233.
Proof of residency in District 30 is also required as well as the filling

out of an affidavit form. Please click the link below for information on

Attention 5th Grade Parents!
The kick-off meeting to plan the 5th Grade Event will be on Monday,
January 28, 2013 at 9 a.m. at Willowbrook. Please join us if you are
interested in planning and taking part in the event. All volunteers are
welcome to attend the actual event which will start at noon on Monday,
June 3, 2013. We will need volunteers to be in charge of planning
food/beverages, the memory book, the video montage, all
communications (emails, bulletin boards, invitations), volleyball (will
mainly consist of working with the gym teachers) and the trivia game
as well as volunteers on the day of the event.
If you cannot attend the meeting but want to volunteer, please contact
one of us on the committee. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Raffle Tickets are NOT sold at the event. They are
PRE-ORDER ONLY!
Event Attendance is not required to participate in the Raffle.

absentee Raffle purchase and selection. This is a great way to
support your PTO and win prizes even if you are unable to
attend!

Box Tops Announcement
The Feb. 22nd deadline to submit Box Tops is fast
approaching. Parents & Students: Please do your
best to get your Box Tops into the Box Top
submission box in front of the office at Willowbrook
School. The student that collects the most Box
Tops will receive a $5 Gift Certificate to use at the
Willowbrook School Store.

Wescott's annual Fun Fair theme this year is
"Character Connects Us." The Fun Fair will take

Friday Flag raising
Please join us on Friday mornings at 8:50 for our
weekly flag raising. This week our flag raisers were
5th grade students Bella Dumanis, Maya
Goldenberg, Urie Han, Sean Kelly, Phoebe Kim and
Benjy Kurcz.
Next week our flag raisers will be 4th grade students Sofia Beltrano,
Geoffrey Gitles, Isabella Kim, Xander Maldonado, Dylan Rabin and
Grace Park.
