The numeric representation of the date, 3.14.15 reflects the number sequence of the mathematical term “Pi.” With the addition of the year 2015, it is a particularly momentous Pi Day, because it carries Pi out an extra two decimal points. Project specific tricks and tips are highlighted throughout Prayers while you’re Stitchin’ Tattle Tales Sheralyn Humble has been VERY busy this month, I’m trying not to have her picture on EVERY page! Ha! Just kidding, Sheralyn...keep up the good work! So many quilters have joined the guild this month as new members I lost count about 10. Judy Williams carries membership forms with her now (not really) but she has been directly responsible for getting Jane Hancock’s on the paperwork.. Thanks, Judy!! The Feedsack Feedback Stuff you asked about... happy faces of the Winter Texans and excitement of new members have revived enthusiasm for our guild family. www.printerest.comk atscribner3 Lois Sitton, a little trouble with her knees; Annette Fowler, surgery on her finger; Mary Schott, a little under the weather, is joining the guild, hope to see her on Meeting Day. Mary Ann Miller, condolences. Barb Goodlock, surgery Bonnie Hunter, Again "Jan Johnson wanted to spread the word about "QuiltersResources.net" to help make it THE resource for quilters on the net. Check it out." WARNING: You could fall into a time warp if you go to this site…..Thanks to you, Lois Atwood, yours truly lost half a day here…. the book. Although you can find most of these patterns somewhere on the internet, they are some of my favorites (thread-catcher pincushion, scissors case) collected in one place. My favorites are the Ultimate Equipment Tote (for acrylic rulers, cutting mat, quilt blocks) and the Big and Little Patchwork totes that look cute, sturdy and very useful. Check it out, might be fun to share some of the projects at the next retreat! LS Ask about Leaders and Enders http:// quiltville.blogspot.com/2015/02/ some-texas-showingsharing.html Leaders and Enders in the quilt on top made by Judy McKinley and Sheralyn Humble’s Grand Illusion Mystery Quilt based on colors from the GRAND HOTEL on Mackinac Island, Michigan, site of filming Somewhere in Time. Sheralyn also completed a LandE quilt and shared at B.Hunter workshop (left) QUILTING TIP: SAVE YOUR LEFTOVER PAPER BACKED FUSIBLE WEB IN A LARGE ZIPPER STORAGE BAG. CUT A PIECE OF CARD STOCK ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE BAG AND SLIP IN THE PIECES OF FUSIBLE WEB ON TOP. THE CARD STOCK KEEPS IT FLAT AND READY TO USE. This month the newsletter has received many, many photographs from members and most from Mary Ann Hedge. We can only use black and white on the printed newsletter, however, I’m going to try to send the e-mail newsletter with color pictures. I’m also going to try and send an attachment that will have additional color pictures of some of our activities (show and tell, business meetings, bus trip Shop Hop, etc.) Let me know if this is something you like and I will work on it a little harder. We have also been blessed this month with so many ladies that have stepped up and picked up in places we were sagging (I know all about those sagging places), you know, filling in for others when they were unable, and filling in for places we didn’t know we had holes. Without skipping a beat she said, "It's Presidents Day!" She's smart, so I asked her "What does Presidents Day mean?" I was waiting for something about Obama, Bush, or Clinton, etc. She replied, "Presidents Day is when the President steps out of the White House, and if he sees his shadow, we have another year of Bullshit."
