AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY INTO
THE CITY LIMITS OF FLOODWOOD, MINNESOTA.
The City Council ofthe City of Floodwood, Minnesota, ordains as follows:
WHEREAS the City of Floodwood has received a Petition signed by all owners of certain
hereafter described property, which Petition requests annexation of the property into the city
limits of Floodwood, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS the property to which the Petition applies is in St. Louis County, Minnesota
and is legally described as follows:
That part of Lot Eleven (11), Section Five (5) in Township Fifty-one (51) North of Range
Twenty (20) West of the Fourth Principal Meridian in St. Louis County, Minnesota,
described as follows:
Commencing at a point 312 feet east of the northwest comer of Lot 11, thence east along
the North line of lot 11 150 feet, thence south at right angles to the last described line 150
f~et, thence west at right angles to the last described line 150 feet, thence north at right
angles to the last described line to the point of beginning, half an acre more or less.
and
WHEREAS the property above described abuts the City of Floodwood and is 120 acres
or less; and
WHEREAS the property above described is urban or suburban in character or is about to
become so; and
WHEREAS the above described property is not presently served by public water
facilities or public water facilities are not otherwise available; and
WHEREAS the City has not received or accepted a Petition from these property owners
for more than one year for property contiguous to this parcel; and
WHEREAS pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 414.033, subd. 2b a public hearing
was held on the annexation petition on December 26, 2006; and
WHEREAS at least thirty (30) days prior thereto written notice of the hearing by certified
mail was given to Floodwood Township, the township affected by the annexation, and to all
landowners within and contiguous to the area to be annexed;NOW THEREFORE, the above
described property is hereby annexed into the city limits of Floodwood, Minnesota.
