`Twas the night before Holiday Hut and all through the school,
The students were making their shopping lists. How cool!
The shop was set up, out in P2.
So many choices. Oh my, what to do!
Thanks to Volunteers and Elves Joann, Beth & Terri,
Holiday Hut this year will be merry!
When what to our wondering eyes should appear?
It’s the Wellington Holiday Parade on the 8th this year.
A parade float is needed and it’s Chris once again!
What’s that you say? You want to turn us into cave men?

Administration's Message
Dear Binks Forest Families,
We have had another amazing month here at Binks
Forest! We had our school carnival and even with
the rain we had a great time. The carnival was a
huge success! We are so grateful for all the
classroom baskets, volunteers and our wonderful
PTA for making this possible! We are grateful for
the wonderful faculty and staff here at Binks. The
students are amazing and the involvement and
support of our parents are a true gift.
December is a busy month for us. We have Holiday
Hut starting on December 2nd, grades 3-5
diagnostic testing starting on December 3rd, Annual
Wellington Holiday Parade on December 8th,

on the 9th, Field Day December 17th – 20th , and the
Holiday Chorus Show at 6pm on December 19th.
We look forward to seeing all of you at each one of
our events.
We want to congratulate Mrs. Tatum for turning in
2,223 pounds of shoes for Shoes For The Cure and
thank all of you who donated your shoes to this
wonderful cause.
We also want to wish Mrs. Carney a relaxing and
fun filled retirement. Even though she is leaving
us, the enthusiasm for learning that she has
inspired in her students will live on. She has
touched the lives of so many and will be missed
greatly.
As the holiday season rapidly approaches, the
entire faculty and staff at Binks Forest would like to
take this opportunity to wish each and every one of
you a very safe and happy holiday. May your
holiday bring happiness, relaxation, and the joy of
spending time with family and friends.
With Owl Pride,
Mrs. Levy and Ms. Berard

Each year all of the elementary guidance
counselors in Wellington collaborate to plan
workshops for parents. We take turns being
the host school but parents from any
Wellington school are invited to attend. The
first workshop this year will be held here at
Binks Forest on Monday, December 13th at
6:30. The first workshop is a parent round
table “We Can Work it Out: Choosing Your
Battles” by Dr. Elaine Rotenberg. Flyers will
be sent home this month and are currently on
my Edline page.
Parent Book Group – COMING SOON! This
book chat is open to parents at Binks Forest or
you are welcome to bring parents from other
Wellington schools to participate. The first
book we will be discussing is Teach Your
Children Well by Madeline Levine. I am still
working on choosing a date in January or
February. If you would like to join our book
chat and receive information about the date,
please email me and I will add you to the
distribution list. Our book group usually meets

December is a very busy month here at Binks
Forest Elementary School.
In order for our
students to be well prepared for presentations,
Career Week, Field Day, and holiday
performances we have tailored “The Binks Way” to
fit expectations for Special Events. We look
forward to a busy month ahead with our students
continuing to be great examples of what “The
Binks Way” really means.
Student Council News
Mrs. Gifford
The annual food collection drive
sponsored by Student Council
was a tremendous success once
again! Our students and parents
donated multiple carloads of
food.
This allowed numerous
families in the Western communities to have a
brighter Thanksgiving holiday. Thank you so
much for your generous spirit of giving.
The annual "Gove Elementary Toy Drive" will take
place from December 2-December 12. Please
consider sending in a new, unwrapped toy during
that time period to benefit a needy family in the
Glades.
