named the Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby Champion; his horse
“ACE” was named the Champion Left
Leader of the Calgary Stampede Equine
Outfit of Excellence. He won the Ponoka
Stampede and placed second in the WPCA standings. 2013 he made it into the
GMC Rangeland Derby’s “Semi Final Saturday”. He placed in the top ten 22
times on the WPCA Pro Tour and his horse “ACE” was named the Champion Left
Leader of the WPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence. Kurt was the 2012 Strathmore
Heritage Days Champion.

racing at the Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby. In 2014 he qualified
for the Championship Sunday Final Heat
of the GMC Rangeland Derby. His horse
“TOM” was named the Champion Outrider
Horse of the Calgary Stampede Equine Outfit of Excellence and “CHIP” was
named the Champion Left Wheeler of the WPCA’s Equine Outfit of Excellence.
He won top day money three times on the WPCA Pro Tour. In 2013 he placed in
the top ten 20 times, with two of them being top day money. He has won nine
major show championships. Rae is a third generation chuckwagon driver.

racing at Calgary. He is the 2014 Calgary
Stampede Aggregate Champion and Safety
Award Champion; he again qualified for
the Championship Sunday Final Heat
at the Calgary Stampede making for the
ninth time. He is also the 2014 Strathmore Heritage Days Stampede Champion.
In 2013 he was the GMC Rangeland Derby Champion and the Aggregate
Champion. His horse “TYCOON” was named the Champion Right Leader of
the Calgary Stampede Equine Outfit of Excellence. Jason won his fourth career
World Chuckwagon Championship in 2012.

Championship Sunday Final Heat, he
took home top day money one day. He
placed seventh in the aggregate standings
at the Medicine Hat Show and placed
in the top ten 13 times on the WPCA Pro
Tour. In 2013 Gary qualified for the GMC
Rangeland Derby’s “Semi Final Saturday” and had a horse named to the
Calgary Stampede’s Equine Outfit of Excellence for the second year in a row.
He qualified for the winner-take-all championship final at the Medicine Hat

his horse “BLAZER” was named the
Champion Right Leader of the Calgary

won top day money once and placed fifth
in the aggregate standings at the Calgary
Stampede. On the CPCA Tour he was the
aggregate champion at the Onion Lake Show and won the Dash for Cash. In
2013 he won the championship at the Frog Lake, Dewberry and Lloydminster
shows. He is a two–time CPCA Champion Driver, a two–time CPCA High Point
Driver. Wayne has won twenty CPCA show championships over his career.

Layne MacGillivray

times with one being top day money during
the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland
Derby. On the WPCA Pro Tour he placed
ten times in the top ten for day money.
His horse “CARIB” was named Champion
Outrider Horse of the WPCA Equine Outfit
of Excellence. In 2013 he placed in the top ten eight times with six of those in
the top five on the WPCA Pro Tour. Layne won the 2011 Colonial Days Fair in

ten days of Stampede. His horse “COLONEL” was named to the 2014 and 2013
Calgary Stampede’s Equine Outfit of Excellence. His horse “CHIEF” was named
Champion Right Leader of the WPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence in 2014. Kirk
is also the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Champion of 2013. He was the runner up of
the 2013 World Chuckwagon Championship.
Kelly Sutherland

In 2014 Kelly placed in the top ten aggregate
five times on the WPCA Pro Tour and was
tenth in the aggregate standings at the
Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby.
He won the 2013 Strathmore Heritage Days
Championship and his horse “SPITFIRE”
was named the Champion Right Wheeler
of the WPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence. In 2012 he was named the Calgary
Stampede’s prestigious Guy Weadick Award winner and won the North
American Chuckwagon Championship. He is a 12 time Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby Champion, a twelve-time World Chuckwagon Champion,

In 2014 Vern was crowned CPCA Champion
for the third straight year and fourth time
in his career. He placed in the top ten three
times over the 2014 GMC Rangeland Derby.
His horse “SNAKE” was named Champion
Right Wheeler of the CPCA Equine of
Excellence. In 2013 Vern was the CPCA Finals Dash Champion – finishing the
final standings at second overall. In 2012 he qualified for his second GMC
Rangeland Derby “Semi Final Saturday”. He has qualified for the winner–take–
all final heat for the CPCA Chuckwagon Championship six times. Vern is the
younger brother of fellow driver Shane Nolin and outrider Mick Nolin.

Excellence. 2013 he placed ninth in the CPCA standings. In 2012 he won the
CPCA Most Improved Driver award. In 2011 he won the CPCA Rookie Driver
Award and Family of the Year Award. Kris started driving pony chariots at the
age of 14 and by the age of 16 he was driving a chuckwagon.

In 2014 Logan placed in the top ten two
nights of the Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby, and placed in the top
ten aggregate standings at three stops of
the WPCA Pro Tour. In 2013 Logan was the
GMC Rangeland Derby Demo Driver. In his
first year with the WPCA tour he won top day money one night at the Medicine
Hat Exhibition & Stampede and placed in the top ten seven times on the WPCA
Pro Tour. He is a four-time CPCA Champion Outrider and plays hockey for the
Meadow Lake Stampeders in the off-season. Logan is the son of Gary Gorst and
brother to outrider Dustin Gorst.
Roger Moore

In 2014 Roger did double duty as he took
over the reins for injured driver Tim
Haroldson as well as racing his own wagon.
He placed in the top ten once for his wagon
and twice with Tim’s wagon over the ten
days of Stampede. He was in the top ten
aggregate three times on the WPCA Pro Tour and his horse “ARIZONA” was
named the Champion Left Leader of the WPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence. In
2013 Roger won the WPCA Clean Drive Award and the Most Improved Driver
Award. Also in 2013 he won both the Ponoka Stampede and Colonial Days
Championships and finished fifth in the World Standings.
Obrey Motowylo

year racing at the GMC Rangeland Derby;
he has twice qualified for the Rangeland
Derby’s “Semi Final Saturday”. He placed
in the top ten once over the 2014 GMC
aggregate three times on the WPCA Pro Tour
and he is the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Champion. In 2013 he placed
in the top ten three times over the GMC Rangeland Derby and was in the top
ten aggregate four times over at the WPCA Pro Tour. In 2012 he qualified for the
winner-take-all final at the Battle of the North in Dawson Creek.

years.
Jamie Laboucane

In 2014 Jamie placed in the top ten
twice over the Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby. He won the Wainwright
Championship and won the Dash for Cash
and horse trailer at the Prairie Racing
Series Championship. 2013 He qualified
for the GMC Rangeland Derby but due
to an injury couldn’t continue to drive through the meet and the reins were
taken over by Doug Irvine. His best year was in 2012 winning the first show
championship of his career at the Oil & Ag CPCA Turtleford Derby and was the
CPCA All Around champion. Also in 2012 in just his second GMC Rangeland
Derby, he ran penalty free.
Mike Vigen

In 2014 Mike placed in the top ten day
money twice at the Calgary Stampede GMC
aggregate twice on the WPCA Pro Tour
placing first at the Battle of the Rockies.
In 2014 and 2013 his horse “PRINCE” was
named Champion Outriding Horse with
the WPCA’s Equine Outfit of Excellence.
He was the 2013 Battle of the Rockies Champion and holds the track record.
He won top day money once at the Grande Prairie Stampede & Medicine Hat
Exhibition & Stampede. In 2012 his horse “RIVER” was named champion left
leader of the Calgary Stampede Equine Outfit of Excellence. .

“FRANKLIN” was named the Champion
Left Leader of the CPCA Equine Outfit of
Excellence. He was in the final four for

was one of the fastest and safest drivers in
2014 having only recorded six seconds in penalties. In 2013 he won the top
day money on day ten of the 2013 Calgary Stampede (excluding the final four
heat). Layne is a third generation chuckwagon driver and won the Orville
Strandquist Award for Top Rookie Driver at the 2011 Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby.

running at the GMC Rangeland Derby. In
2014 he placed in the top ten aggregate two
times and the top ten day money nine times
on the WPCA Pro Tour. He was in the top
ten day money once at the GMC Rangeland
Derby. In 2013 he was the Saskatoon World
Chuckwagon Races Champion and holds the track record. His horse “WOODY”
was named Champion Left Wheeler of the GMC Rangeland Derby’s Equine
Outfit of Excellence. John placed a very impressive eighth overall in his first
Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby in 2012.

nights at the Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby and placed in the
aggregate four times on the WPCA Pro Tour.
In 2013 he placed in the top ten eight times
and in the top ten aggregate three times
on the WPCA Pro Tour. 2012 he qualified
for the semi-final round at the Ponoka Stampede. He is a two–time winner of
the Calgary Stampede’s Safe Drive Award for least penalized driver. In 2011 he
received the prestigious WPCA Chuckwagon Person of the Year Award, and had
a horse named to the WPCA’s Equine Outfit of Excellence.
Doug Irvine

Birth Date: August 8, 1975
Residence: LaCorey, Alberta
Doug placed in the top ten three times on
the 2014 WPCA Pro Tour. At the 2013 GMC
Rangeland Derby Doug did double duty
driving his own wagon along with one for
injured driver Jamie Laboucane and he
qualified both wagons for the 2014 Calgary
Stampede. Also in 2013 he placed in the
top ten 14 times including day money once
at the Grande Prairie Stampede. In 2012 Doug had his most successful Calgary
Stampede qualifying for his first GMC Rangeland Derby final four, finishing
second by a mere one one-hundredth of a second, this was the closest final four
in Calgary Stampede history.

over the WPCA Pro Tour. In 2013 he was
awarded the Calgary Stampede’s Orville
Strandquist Memorial Award for Top
Rookie Driver and his horse “CANDY”
was named the Champion Right Wheeler
of the Calgary Stampede’s Equine Outfit of Excellence. 2012 saw Chanse win
the WPCA Top Rookie Driver award and become just the fifth driver in WPCA
history to qualify for the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby in his rookie
year. Chanse is a third generation driver whose father is driver Mike Vigen.
Shane Nolin

2015 will be Shane’s thirteenth consecutive
year racing at the Calgary Stampede GMC
Rangeland Derby. In 2014 Shane won his
first CPCA High Point Champion Driver
and won the North Battleford Show. His
horse “FEZ” was named Champion Left
Wheeler of the CPCA Equine of Excellence. He finished fifth in the CPCA
standings for 2013. Shane ran penalty free at the 2012 Calgary Stampede and
established a new track record at the CPCA stop on the Little Pine First Nation.
Shane is the older brother of driver Vern Nolin and outrider Mick Nolin.
BJ Carey

Residence: Lloydminster, Alberta
2015 will be BJ’s fourth consecutive year
the top ten aggregate standings five times
over the CPCA circuit. His best year to date
was in 2013 winning the CPCA High Point
Driver Award and Blue Jacket Club Year End Aggregate Time Champion and he
was also named the Best Barreler for the CPCA circuit. His horse “Dakota” was
named the Champion Right Leader of the CPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence for
2013. As a rookie at the Calgary Stampede in 2012, BJ cracked the top ten twice
on nights three and six.

Driver Award. In 2013 he posted seven top
ten runs and was in the top ten once at the GMC Rangeland Derby. In 2012 he
won his debut race, ran penalty free all the days and was awarded the Calgary
Stampede’s Orville Strandquist Memorial Award for Top Rookie Driver. Codey
also received the WPCA’s prestigious Chuckwagon Person of the Year for 2012.

show championship of his career at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede.
His horse “D.J.” was the Champion Right Wheeler of the WPCA Equine Outfit
of Excellence and Evan was the recipient of the WPCA Most Improved Driver
Award.

Dallas Dyck

2015 will be Dallas’ first time to race as
a driver at the Calgary Stampede GMC
the top ten aggregate standings six times
on the CPCA circuit. He placed 8th in the
CPCA Year End Final Standings to achieve
his primary goal for 2014. In 2013 he had
the top time of the night on Day 1 at the Dewberry show. He stated outriding at
the age of 19 and then a few years later starting driving. Dallas and his wife Lexi
have two children, daughter Tia and son Wyatt.

2015 will be Chad’s first Calgary Stampede
GMC Rangeland Derby as a driver. In 2014
he place tenth in the aggregate standings
at the Medicine Hat show and had 11 top
ten runs on the WPCA Pro Tour. Chad is
the 2014 Calgary Stampede Aggregate
Champion Outrider. In 2013 he became a
full time chuckwagon driver on the WPCA Pro Tour and placed in the top ten
six times over the season. He received the 2013 WPCA Top Rookie Driver Award.
Chad is a fourth generation chuckwagon driver and will be competing against
his older brother Jordie Fike at the 2015 Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland
Derby.
Dave Galloway

Derby. In 2014 he placed in the aggregate
standings four times and in the top ten
14 times on the CPCA SIGA Pro Tour. In
2013 he finished 13th in the CPCA SIGA
Pro Tour Final standings and second
in the Safe Driver Standings after recording only one driving infraction all
season. His primary goal for 2014 was to make it to the 2015 Calgary Stampede
GMC Rangeland Derby and here he is. In the off-season Dave is an Oilfield
Consultant.
