About Newfoundland
and Labrador
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador is
praised by sportsmen the world over for its natural
abundance of trophy black bear, moose and woodland
caribou and unparalleled wilderness surroundings.
Western Newfoundland runs from Port aux Basques
to the top of the Great Northern Peninsula.
The Trans-Canada Highway passes right through
Western Newfoundland, connecting us to the
Province of Nova Scotia on the Canadian Mainland
via the Marine Atlantic ferry service arriving at the
Town of Port aux Basques. To the east and west of
this major highway are pristine ancient mountain
ranges that provide world-class big game hunting
opportunity.
The island of Newfoundland has a temperate climate,
similar to that of states of Maine and Massachusetts.
Winters are generally mild, with an average temperature of 0° Celsius (32° Fahrenheit). Summer days
range from warm to hot with an average daily
temperature of 20° Celsius (72° Fahrenheit).

NEWFOUNDLAND GUIDED HUNTS
We will tailor your Newfoundland guided hunting or fishing excursion to the number of days you have available,
the choice of species and the funds you wish
h tto spend. All Newfoundland guided hunting excursions are booked
with either a 1:1 or 2:1 hunter to guide ratio. Adventure Quest Outfitters also offer the opportunity to fish for
some of Newfoundland's largest brook trout and Atlantic salmon
Bear hunting
Western Newfoundland is the premier bear
hunting region, endowed with one of the densest
population of these black beauties with current
populations estimated at 14,000 or above.
This virtually undisturbed habitat sparsely populated by humans has made this the ideal spot for
black bear hunting
We boast one of the highest success rates in the
region at 95% success. Hunting is over active baits
and is done mainly from well built wooden
platforms about 12-14 feet high or with ground
blinds for the more adventurous.
WOODLAND CARIBOU
Newfoundland remains the only place in the
world that you can hunt Woodland Caribou
Approximately 50,000 woodland caribou roam
the pristine wilds of Western Newfoundland.
The success rate for the guided caribou hunt
consistently reaches an incredible 90%.
Sportsmen may expect to harvest superior Pope
and Young, and Boone and Crockett trophies that
weigh an average 400-500 pounds.
Caribou hunting generally requires walking over
large areas of open country, as this is where these
prized trophies are to be spotted anytime of day.
Weather conditions during hunting season
can vary greatly with daytime
temperatures exceeding 40
