Magazine space is no-cost to organizations or individuals caring for
animals who need homes. Monthly business sponsorship rates are $300/
150/75/35 for a full-page/half-page/quarter-page/business card ad in color,
and $200/100/50/25 for grayscale ads. A one year subscription is $25.
ADOPTION CRITERIA
Each organization in Critter has its own adoption criteria. All organizations
require an adoption contract and a fee to recoup basic expenses. All will
require that your adoptee be a pet, not merely a utility animal for protection
or hunting. Most will ensure that the animals are spayed or neutered at
the time of adoption; underfunded shelters may instead require a spay/
neuter contract and a deposit that will be refunded upon proof of spay or
neuter. Most will want to visit your home and see where the pet will live.
Because many of these animals have not been well treated in the past,
extra care is taken to ensure their safety and happiness in the future.

Angel Marie is a sweet little gal
who is about 7 years old. She’s
had some sort of injury along the
way, and she must be careful
going up and down stairs. She’s
a tiny bit “shaky” in the rear end.
She’s also very hard of hearing,
but if she sees hand signals, she
understands and is very quick to
respond.
Pudgy Righmyer is
slightly pudgy, but too
cute and very sweet.
He gets along with
our females, and
we’re still learning
about him.
Bobby is super sweet and
outgoing. He loves other dogs
and is learning not to chase
cats. He is a little afraid of
very loud noises, but with time
adjusts to them. He will be
ready to go after
heartworm treatment and will
require a fenced yard and
indoor home.
Buddy is a special boy.
Cats are his best friends.
He loves to be brushed,
will not chew things and
has never shown any
aggression of any sort.
Buddy is very, very shy.
You might call him the
cowardly lion. In spite of
this, he will bond and love
his people with all his
doggy heart.

and trust on a daily basis. We'll see about her steadily. She is sound and can be a little bossy at times.

daybreak Hollie is the first dog to

block. She is very social and
energetic and enjoys boisterous,

Gary turned 2 years old in
January and weighs approximately 75 lbs. Gary is one good
looking boy. He is being fostered
with small dogs, cats, and

wonderfully with his house
manners and settling in to
retirement without any trouble.

and is working on slick

drive which developed into car

Hip Dysplasia is a very common disease that affects many breeds of dogs. This disease is caused
by the abnormal development of the hip as the puppy develops and grows. Genetics are the major
contributing factor but trauma or other injuries to the hip can also contribute. Hip Dysplasia leads to
loosening of the hip joints and deformation of the joint. This leads to arthritis, pain and muscle weakness.

those coping with the loss of a pet.
Meetings will be held on the following Tuesday

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO
HELP DRIVE SHELTER/
RESCUE DOGS
Every week there
are lifesaving
transports that go
through Knoxville/
East Tennessee.
These transports carry one or
more dogs or puppies to places
where rescue groups have
available space, or even where a
forever home is waiting. Each
transport is a series of “legs” in
which volunteer drivers each
give a few hours on a weekend.
Gas money is the only cost,
though it is sometimes provided if
someone wishes to drive
but cannot afford gas.

issue is her sensitivity
about her face and head.
She needs a patient and
understanding family that
will take her to obedience
classes and teach her with
loving kindness.
Rosie is a sweet,
affectionate, active 6 year
old who is blind in one
eye. She loves people
but needs to be an only
dog. Rosie is robust at
65+ lbs., so needs to be
on a low fat diet. She is a
great dog for a home
where she could be the
center of attention.
