LLC Riga Central Terminal (RCT) is the largest private multi-functional
stevedoring company in the Republic of Latvia, providing terminal
management and cargo handling services since 1996.
RCT manages terminal area 67 hectares of land and 13 berths
with total length of 2,424 metres and with maximum draft of 11.7
metres. Terminal provides 158,000 square meters of open storage
area and 58,000 square meters of specialized warehouse space.
Excellent access roads and 19.5 kilometres of dedicated wide gauge
(1520 mm) private railway tracks make it the most comprehensive
terminal facility in the Baltic State region.
Terminal aims to provide the best infrastructure for transit cargo
transshipment and warehouse activities, and to develop a cargo
portfolio beyond the traditional dry bulk cargo segment to include
more value added activities. As of 2008 the company has successfully
implemented the containerization program, which includes new
services of customs, forwarding and logistics solution provision.
RCT employs 520 qualified stevedores, port and railway forwarding
managers, who ensure smooth and efficient operation of the terminal
on 24 hours, 7 days, and 363 days of the year basis. RCT regularly
seeks to extend the capabilities of its staff by providing training and
skill upgrade programmes. In 2007, RCT obtained the ISO 9001:2000
standard.
GRAIN TERMINAL
Rigas Ostas Elevators
JSC Rigas Ostas Elevators (ROE) is the only specialized terminal
facility for grain handling and storage in Riga port. The main services
of ROE include the grain and oilseed transhipment to and from
vessels, rail wagons and heavy vehicles, storage, drying, fumigation,
laboratory services and disinfection of grain.
ROE provides a maximum storage capacity of 45,000 tons with the
quay side of 200 metres and 7 metre draft that allows to service
vessels up to 20,000 tons. The personnel of 50 qualified professionals
keep the terminal operational 365 days of the year.

JSC Baltijas Tranzita Serviss (BTS) is the largest private railway
operating company in the Republic of Latvia. BTS with its own fleet
of locomotives is self-sufficient and thus can provide railway shunting
and traction services between the major railway stations and sea port
terminals of Riga and Ventspils.
