Cattlemen Count on Nuflor
®
When even one calf is challenged with BRD, cattlemen reach for Nuflor
antibiotic, because they know it’ll work, and work fast. That’s what
makes Nuflor the best selling product of its kind in the world with more
than 60 million cattle treated.
Nuflor. The one cattlemen count on.
Talk to your veterinarian about Nuflor.
Do not use in female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older,
as use in lactating dairy cattle may cause milk residues. Not
for use in cattle of breeding age. Do not use for calves to be
processed for veal. Full product information found on page 17.

Git ‘Er Done! at the Cattle Industry Annual Convention & Trade Show
Dear Fellow Cattle Producers,
One of the best investments your cattle operation can make is to join us for the 2007
Cattle Industry Annual Convention and Trade Show. There’s no better source of
education and information than this fantastic event. It’s the nation’s largest gathering of
cattle producers, and includes the industry’s largest trade show—featuring the latest in
products and services that you won’t want to miss.
So be sure to join us this year in “Music City U.S.A.” to hear industry experts on beef
demand, international trade, property rights, animal identification, and other critical
issues. You’ll also have access to producer education sessions that can help you
maintain a stronger, healthier and more valuable cattle herd. This event is also a great
opportunity to get updates on all programs funded by the beef checkoff, and to provide
your own input to the committees managing these programs.
• “I brought back ideas and information, explained
programs, affected 6 other people in our business
and industry just at the ranch!”
• “Great place to network and see new
products/information.”
• “I am better informed and have a better chance of

The multi-talented Red Steagall is a cowboy whose music,
poetry and homespun wit have charmed audiences from the
Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma to the White House lawn.
Red has always been a cowboy, at least in his heart and in
his mind. His songs and poems are a means to preserving a
way of life that offers lessons for all.
Although Red has entertained folks with his cowboy songs
and poems for over 35 years around the world, he is still happiest on his ranch
just west of Fort Worth. And if you ask Red where his favorite place to perform
might be, more than likely he’ll tell you it’s around the chuckwagon at some
lonesome cow camp.

Ethanol Production, and Volatile Markets.
What does 2007 have in store for the beef industry? Much of the country has
been impacted by drought in recent years. Has the drought derailed herd
expansion? The changing cattle cycle will pose new challenges and
opportunities for all participants in the cattle and beef industry. Are you
prepared? How long will these trends continue? What impact will this have on
cattle and beef prices? Which industry segments are best positioned for profits
at this stage of the cycle? Do management strategies need to change? How
long will it take to regain lost market share in the global markets? How many
more years can cow/calf producers expect to remain profitable? Growing beef
demand was the key driver to record high prices and profitability during the last
several years, can this trend be maintained? What will keep beef competitive
with record large pork and poultry production? How will increasing exports
impact beef prices? Are you prepared for the increased volatility and the
potential for higher feed costs due to demand? Where and how should the U.S.
beef industry position itself to effectively compete in a global beef market?
Structural change is occurring at a rapid pace within the industry, where do you
fit? Please join us as we discuss these and other important topics that will
shape the market landscape during the balance of this decade.

NCBA Membership Committee
See the description listed in the Joint Global Consumer Marketing Group section.
NCBA’s success as an organization is derived
from the strength of its membership. NCBA
works every day for producers on all issues
impacting our way of life. To provide funding for
this work we must have strong relationships with
our members, state and breed affiliates. Now is
the time for these groups to come together to
develop strategies for enhancing revenue
development, give direction on existing services
and provide input on future programs for state
organizations and members.
NCBA Live Cattle Marketing Committee
Committees
This is an important meeting of this checkoff
committee, as it reviews to-date results of Fiscal
Year 2007 producer communications programs
and begins mapping a Fiscal Year 2008 strategy
to communicate efforts and results of checkoff
programs to the producers who invest in it.
Tactical areas of discussion encompass paid
media, trade media communications, the
Beefmobile, State Beef Council communication
services, Cattlemen’s Beef Board
communications, producer outreach and more.
All producers are welcome.
Joint Public Opinion & Issues Management Group
Discussions will focus on the latest factors impacting cattle marketing including the outlook for cattle
markets and the status of USDA’s comprehensive cattle industry marketing study. We will also discuss
strategies for addressing potential Farm Bill legislation that will arise regarding marketing issues.
NCBA Property Rights and Environmental Management Committee
As we prepare for the potential of a 2007 Farm Bill, we will discuss conservation programs from the
2002 Farm Bill and conservation goals for future farm policy. Learn the latest on the EPA’s efforts to
regulate coarse particulate matter (dust) that may affect agriculture operations, the status of the Clean
Water Act CAFO Rule, and where we are on our efforts to define that manure is not a hazardous
substance under Superfund.
NCBA Tax and Credit Committee
We are working on continued priorities to eliminate taxes that reduce the profitability of cattle
operations in the United States. Permanent repeal of the Death Tax and other issues will be on the
agenda to ensure that NCBA is positioned and prepared for activity in the 110th Congress.

Convention
Child’s Meal: $16.00 each (age 12 and under)
Be sure your plans include the closing night of this 2007 convention,
this will truly be a grand evening! Following a full course meal, join
us for a truly inspiring and unique program featuring Songwriters in
the Round. Would you love to know the “inside scoop” on why a
song was written and then became a #1 hit? We are lucky to have
three of the top Nashville country music songwriters performing for
us. Aaron Barker, Allen Shamblin, and Paul Overstreet will provide
a great evening of enjoyment. With close to 50 #1 hits between
them, they’ve been represented by artists such as George Strait,
Randy Travis, and Bonnie Raitt. Not only will they perform their hits
as they were originally written, but also provide you with some astounding insight into how each song was inspired and
eventually written. A true Nashville experience, this intimate look at “the stories behind the songs” is a magical combination
of music, humor and enlightenment.
For your dancing pleasure, we introduce Sonny Burgess, who grew up in the
sun-burnt town of Cleburne, Texas and was surrounded by the sounds and
realities that are traditional country music. In 2001, Music City Records
released his debut album, When In Texas, which produced four top-ten hits
on the Texas Music Chart. That brought him the first opportunities to play
venues such as the venerable Grand Ole Opry®, Nashville’s Fan Fair/CMA
Music Festival, The Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville and make his national
television debut on “Crook & Chase.” Now with his second album, Stronger,
Sonny recorded several songs by famous Nashville writers such as Aaron Barker, on Sonny's current radio
single “A Little Bit Stronger,” and another co-written by Paul Overstreet, “Anytime I’m Smiling”. Sonny has
recently been honored by having several of his songs selected by eight-time World Champion Roper Roy
Cooper, to be included on his DVD chronicling his life and times, including a song Sonny wrote, "Cowboy
Cool", as a tribute to Roy. With singles charting off the new album and music on a World Champion cowboy’s
legacy, "What Else Could Go Right"!
Don’t miss this spectacular night of great music, fun, fellowship and friends!

Airline Discounts
Discount Restaurants
Planning an enjoyable road trip with family or
friends can be fun and economical. Most hotels
will provide room rates for three or four people per
room; while it is a littler higher, it’s very inexpensive
when divided by four.
Take advantage of up to a 10% discount off
published roundtrip fares with United Airlines! And,
if you purchase your ticket a minimum of 30 days
prior to travel, you may be eligible for an additional
5% discount. These airline discounts are available
through Global Travel, directly with United Airlines,
or through your own travel agency; see page 19 for
additional details.
The Gaylord Opryland® complex has a wide variety
of dining options to fit any budget. From 24-hour
Room Service to quick-and-casual, you’ll find
whatever you’re looking for as you stroll through
the atrium gardens and pathways. Just try to hit
them all! Plus, you can find additional dining
options across the street, from fast food to family
dining restaurants.
Economical Lodging
Register Smart
NCBA negotiates special room rates at official
convention hotels for all convention attendees. The
Best Western Inn is just $80.00 per night plus
tax—share a room with a friend and you would
each pay just $40.00 per night plus tax!
There are many ways to register. If you’re an NCBA
member, you pay less than non-members. If you
bring a guest or spouse, their registration is even
less. If your budget or time constraints keep you
from attending the entire convention, two-day
registration fees are available. Save money by preregistering before the January 5 deadline!

Getting You There
Nashville is America’s music. Songwriters of all genres can be found performing tomorrow’s hits in clubs all over town, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
offers visitors a look back at popular music history. Visit the Ryman Auditorium, known as the Mother Church of Country Music. Nashville offers lessons in history as well.
See The Hermitage, home of President Andrew Jackson, or the Belle Meade Plantation, a glorious 1853 Greek Revival mansion. On any given night, there are over 100 live
music clubs in Nashville where you can see and hear artists from every genre. Just be sure to pay attention, tonight’s performer may be tomorrow’s next big star. After all,
you’re in Music City. Convention is being held at the Gaylord Opryland® Resort & Convention Center Nashville. Stroll through their lush indoor gardens with cascading
waterfalls, choose from a variety of restaurants or just stroll through the specialty shops. Ready to venture out? Winters are generally mild in Nashville, you can expect
average daily highs of 50 degrees, but bring a warm jacket for evening excursions, the average low is 30 degrees.

Hotel Information
Reservation Deadline: January 5, 2007
Why Use the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau?
Using the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau will save you money and
time. NCBA has negotiated special room rates and room blocks in six
Nashville hotels to house convention attendees. These hotels have
been selected because they are the closest to the Gaylord Opryland®,
and are all suitable hotels. NCBA is financially contracted to these
hotels for housing all convention attendees. If you book a room
outside of NCBA’s official hotels, you put NCBA at risk for paying hotel
attrition fees for not filling the contracted room blocks, plus you lose
the benefits of staying in one of the official convention hotels. Those
exclusive benefits are:
• Special discounted room rates;
• Complimentary daily shuttle service Tuesday through Saturday;
• No hassle, easy-to-make hotel reservation process through
NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau;
• Stay in same hotel with other convention attendees;
• Discounts on dining and shopping; and
• Support your NCBA organization.
Room Blocks
Blocks of ten or more rooms may be reserved initially under one
company name. A complete and final list of names must be submitted
to the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau on or before December 20,
2006, or the room block will be released (no reminders will be sent).
Any company/organization reserving a block of ten or more rooms will
also be required to sign an attrition agreement with NCBA. This
agreement makes the company financially responsible to NCBA in
case of cancellation of these rooms after the January 5 cut-off date.
Hospitality Suites
All requests for hospitality suites must be approved in advance by
NCBA. Please call the NCBA Convention Department (open Monday
through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Mountain Time) at (303) 6940305 for suite types and rates.
How To Make Your Hotel Reservation
Important Instructions
Make your hotel reservation prior to the January 5 deadline on-line, by fax, mail or
telephone! Choose from any of the official hotels listed on page 22. Rooms are
assigned on a first-come, first-served basis by the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau. If
preferred choices are not available, a room will be secured at a hotel based on your
preference of rate or proximity. If all are sold out, a hotel will be assigned based on a
referral system determined by NCBA.
On-Line
Making your hotel reservation on-line is the best way, since you
can immediately select from available hotels and guarantee
your choice of hotel as you make your reservation. Visit our
web site at www.BeefUSA.org, and you will find a direct link to
the on-line housing request system (this is not an NCBA web
site). Please follow the instructions carefully. (You must use a
credit card to hold your reservation.) You may also re-visit the
site and make any necessary changes or cancellations to your
reservation.
Fax
Complete the Hotel Reservation Form on page 24, and fax it to
the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau at (615) 259-4126. (You
must use a credit card to hold your reservation.) Do not mail
the original form if you faxed it.
Mail
Complete the Hotel Reservation Form on page 24, and mail it
with your credit card number or check to:
NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau
150 4th Avenue North, Suite G-250
Nashville, TN 37219
Telephone
You may make your hotel reservation by calling the
NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau toll-free at (877) 259-4716
(international number is (615) 259-4700). You must use a
credit card to hold your reservation if you make it by telephone.

Changes
If you have questions, please call the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau toll-free
at (877) 259-4716 (international number is (615) 259-4700).
You may contact the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau by mail at the address
below, by telephone at (877) 259-4716 (international number is (615) 2594700) or by fax at (615) 259-4126 to change your reservation until January 10.
After January 10, contact your assigned hotel directly to make your change.
NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau
150 4th Avenue North, Suite G-250
Nashville, TN 37219
Special Requests
If ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) special assistance is
required, please indicate this on the hotel reservation form (page
24) or notify the hotel holding your reservation. If you have other
special requests (i.e. floor location, or close to elevators) please
use the “Special Needs or Other Requests” area on the reservation
form or include a note to the housing bureau stating your needs. Special
requests cannot be guaranteed; however, hotels will do their best to honor all
requests. Hotels will assign specific room types upon check-in, based on
availability.
Hotels/Direct
You must use the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau. The hotels cannot process
reservation forms, and the special convention room rates are not available
through the individual hotels or their web sites. Requests made or sent directly
to the hotels will be refused. If you need to make additional hotel reservations,
copies of the form on page 24 are acceptable.
Room Deposit
All hotels require a one-night room and tax deposit to hold your reservation (if a
deposit is not sent with your reservation, it will not be processed). If you need to
send a check for this deposit, include it with your Hotel Reservation Form and
make it payable to “NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau” for one night’s room rate
at your preferred hotel plus 14.25% tax. If you use a credit card to guarantee
your room, the credit card may not be processed until after January 5 at the
discretion of your assigned hotel. Hotel reservations must be received by
January 5.
Confirmations
The NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau will send an acknowledgement of your
reservation by email (immediately, if email address provided), by fax (within 2
hours if fax number given) or by mail (within 10-14 days). Please check it for
accuracy. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within 14 days, please
contact the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau immediately. You will not receive a
confirmation from the hotel until approximately 1 week prior to your scheduled
arrival date. The hotels will not receive your reservation from the Housing
Bureau until after January 5 and some hotels may take as long as January 15
to enter all reservations into their system. So if you call your assigned hotel
directly, they may not have an actual reservation in their system under your
name until January 15.
Cancellations
Your cancellation frees up a room for another attendee, so please cancel your
reservation early if you will not be using it! There is no penalty for cancellations
received by the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau on or prior to December 20,
2006. Cancellations received by the NCBA/Nashville Housing Bureau after
December 20 will be assessed a $25.00 cancellation fee regardless of when
the initial room request was received (NCBA receives no part of this fee).
Cancellations may be mailed or faxed to be received by the NCBA/Nashville
Housing Bureau prior to January 10. Cancellations after January 10 should be
sent directly to your assigned hotel, and you will be charged the entire onenight’s room and tax deposit by the hotel. In addition, many hotels charge
early departure fees for guests departing earlier than their stated departure
date. To avoid this fee, be sure you give your correct departure date when you
check in at your confirmed hotel.
After the Cut-Off Date
If you need to make a hotel reservation after January 5, the NCBA/Nashville
Housing Bureau will continue to accept Hotel Reservation Forms until January
10. After January 10, NCBA encourages you to call the official convention
hotels, as the hotels will honor our special discounted rates and may have
rooms available. For a list of hotels and telephone numbers, call NCBA at (303)
694-0305 Monday through Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Mountain Time,
or check our web site at www.BeefUSA.org.

Exhibitor Registration
To Register
We encourage you to register early.
Pre-registrations, including ticket additions or
changes, will not be accepted after the January 5
deadline. All registration forms received after
January 5 will be returned. As of January 6, you
must register on-site at the higher registration
fees. Event tickets for each event will be sold onsite on a space available basis.
By Mail
Complete the registration form on
pages 27-28 and mail your check,
money order or credit card payment
to: National Cattlemen’s Beef Association
Accounting Department, P.O. Box 3469,
Englewood, CO 80155.
By Fax (Credit Card Payments Only)
Just fill out the registration form, and
fax it to NCBA with your VISA,
MasterCard or American Express
number and expiration date. Be sure
to sign the form as authorization to
process your credit card charge. Fax
your form to (303) 770-7745. Due to
the volume of registration forms faxed to NCBA,
we request that you not call to confirm receipt of
your fax.
On-Line

http://www.BeefUSA.org/
convregistration.aspx (or just log on

additional convention details are also posted on
our web site as they become available.
Each exhibiting company is entitled to four
complimentary registrations for each 10’ x 10’
booth space purchased. Exhibiting company
registrations over the complimentary allotment are
charged $50.00; exhibitor spouse or guest may
register for the discounted rate of $95.00 using the

form must be used by exhibitors to register for
convention. Exhibitor registrations may only be used
by technical, qualified individuals who are bona fide
company employees or legitimate representatives.
Exhibitors may register on-line or call NCBA’s Trade
Show Manager to request your special forms by
mail, (303) 694-0305.
