Data show good Iran oil job
TEHRAN - Latest market data have revealed strong signs of progress for
Iran’s oil industry which is already facing a series of tough US-led sanctions.
A report by Bloomberg on Friday showed that Iran’s oil production rose
10,000 barrels a day to 2.78 million in January. This, the report said, was the
country’s first such increase over the past eight months.
Bloomberg added that Iran pumped more than 3.1 million barrels a day from
1991 until July 2012, when additional sanctions were imposed on the country.
Iran, the group’s second-biggest producer in June 2012, is now in fourth place,
it added.
Earlier, Reuters had said in a report that purchases of Iranian oil by Asian
clients had jumped by almost 20 percent in 2014.

Terror cannot dent
Muslims unity
TEHRAN - Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani
has slammed as “inhumane” the recent bomb attack against
Shia Muslims in Pakistan, saying such acts of terror cannot
undermine unity among Muslims.
“Undoubtedly, these terrorist moves that are being carried
out against Muslims cannot undermine their unity and determination and will definitely [reinforce] Muslims’ belief and
faith,” Larijani said on Saturday.
The Iranian official added that the bomb attack against Shias
further revealed the inhumane nature of sectarianism.Larijani
also extended his condolences to the Pakistani government,
parliament and nation over the deadly attack of January 30.At
least 60 people were killed and dozens wounded in the blast at
a Shia mosque and religious center in southern Pakistan.
The attack was carried out when people were performing
Friday prayers in Shikarpur district of Sindh Province.
The Jundallah militant group has claimed responsibility for
the attack.Hours after the mosque bombing, large crowds of
Pakistani people, including members of civil society and peace
activists, poured onto the streets of Pakistan’s largest city of
Karachi to voice their outrage over the massacre.
Similar demonstrations were held in other Pakistani cities,
including the capital, Islamabad, Lahore, and Quetta
nology, which can serve as a
model for progress in other
sectors.
The Leader made the
remarks in a Saturday visit
to an exhibition displaying
Iran's latest nanotechnology
achievements.
Ayatollah Khamenei added that maintaining the elements that have caused progress is necessary to continue
making more achievements,
Press TV reported.
The Leader stated that
“accurate planning” and “stability in management” are
among the factors that can
contribute to continued progress in nanotechnology.
Ayatollah Khamenei added that political motivations
should not affect the country’s scientific and research
arenas.
The Leader further pointed to the enmity of bullying
powers with the Iranian nation due to its independent
political, social and intellectual approaches and said,
“This hostility exposes itself
in different fields. So, we
should make ourselves stronger day by day to achieve the
necessary strength.”
AEOI head:
Iran ready to form regional
convention on nuclear safety
TEHRAN – Chairman of
the Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said
Iran is ready to establish a
regional gathering on safety to monitor activities of
nuclear power plants inside
Iran and in other regional
states.
Salehi made the remarks
here in a ceremony to sign
an agreement for cooperation between AEOI and the
Department of Environment on issues related radioecology.
The agreement includes
supervising all nuclear activities and their effects on
environment both inside Iran
and in its neighboring states,
IRNA reported.
Referring to the fact that
Iran’s neighboring states
plan to construct nuclear
power plants, including
the United Arab Emirates
that is building four atomic power plants, Salehi
added a regional convention on safety would make
it possible that all regional
states, including Iran’s
neighbors, act within the
framework and under permanent supervision of the
convention.
According to the 11article document, AEOI is
responsible to monitor various effects of nuclear radiation on different aspects of
environment including soil,
water and air.
This is a must to save the
Iranian nation from radiation-related problems, Salehi
stressed.
He expressed willingness
to “negotiate with neighboring states of Iran, in cooperation with the Department of
Environment and Foreign
Ministry, about issues related
to radioecology.”
“Iran is also interested in exchanging data with its neighbors on radio ecological issues for making necessary
preparations to reduce damage of any possible difficult
time in the future,” Salehi
added.
Iran starts laying new gas line to Iraq
TEHRAN – Iran started
building the second pipeline
to export its gas to neighboring Iraq.
Once the pipeline is implemented, Iran's gas export capacity to Iraqi will rise in two
years.
The construction of the
first pipeline which goes to
Baghdad is almost complete
and is to start carrying gas to
the country by May, 2015.
The project is programmed
to export about 4 million cubic meters of gas to Baghdad
on a daily basis. The figure
will gradually rise to 25 mil-
lion cubic meters a day.
According to Director of
International Relations of
National Iranian Gas Company, Azizollah Ramezani,
about 7 kilometers of the
pipeline which runs to Baghdad is still under construction
inside the Iraqi soil.
The second pipeline carrying Iranian gas to Iraq via
Basra will have a capacity of
35 million cubic meters per
day.
The two pipelines together
have a capacity to increase
Iran's gas exports to Iraq to 70
million cubic meters a day.
Iran condemns terrorist bombing in Pakistan
TEHRAN - Foreign Ministry
Spokesperson Marzieh Afkham here
on Saturday strongly condemned a
terrorist bombing in Pakistan which
killed and injured tens of Friday
prayer worshippers. Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, she
emphasized the importance of unity in
the Muslim world.Latest reports say
about 60 people have been killed and
50 injured in a bomb attack on a Shia
mosque and religious center in Pakistan's southern province of Sindh.
Local security officials said the at-
tack occurred when people were performing Friday prayers in the town
of Shikarpur, around 470 kilometers
(300 miles) north of the port city of
Karachi.
Afkham underscored that the terrorist act is against Islam's religious
teachings and human values.
Emphasizing the need for confronting extremism and terrorist
movements, she urged the regional
countries to cooperate in combating
extremism and terrorism and safeguarding unity among Muslims.
A number of victims are still
trapped under debris, after the roof of
the mosque collapsed due to the intensive blast.Jundullah terrorist group
has claimed responsibility for the recent attack, but pro-Taliban militants
usually take responsibility for similar attacks in the violence-wracked
country.
This is also the latest deadly incident in a wave of violence against the
Shia Muslim community in Pakistan.
Pro-Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked
militants have imposed an economic
blockade against the Shia-dominated
population areas across the volatile
northwest.
The frequent incidents have raised
concerns among human rights groups,
while moderate Pakistani Sunni
groups have described the issue as a
conspiracy against the country.
Shia Muslims in Pakistan say the
government must take decisive action against the forces involved in the
targeted killings. They also accuse Islamabad of failing to provide security
for the Muslim community.

President hails relentless efforts
of nuclear negotiators
TEHRAN – President
Hassan Rohani on Saturday
appreciated efforts made by
Iran’s nuclear negotiating
team noting that they are a
source of pride for the nation.
“Today, we have very
experienced diplomats who
negotiate with the world six
powerful countries (P5+1)
about legal, political and
technical issues. This is a
source of pride for our country,” President Rohani said.
He made the remarks while
addressing the opening ceremony of the Seventh Farabi
International Award Festival
in Tehran, IRNA reported.
Referring to domestic critics of the negotiating team,
the president said, “Criticism
is not booing or accusing, but
instead it means to show a
better and more precise way
which would lead us to our
destination faster.”
“Some people damage national interests in the name
of a certain political party
or faction or in the name of
criticism,” said the president noting that “political
parties are defined based on
and derived from national
interests not equal to or
above them.”
President Rohani stressed
the need for “nationally
praising” the nuclear negotiators as they are shouldering
a heavy burden during the
talks with the world big powers over the legitimate rights
of the Iranian nation.
He also stressed that different sciences should develop
in the country with the help
of government and not with
its interference.
“Politics' intervention in
science is neither good for
politics nor for science,”
President Rohani stressed.
He said both (politics and
science) would suffer in case
of politics interference in scientific issues.

Chad, Niger and Nigeria are
the four African countries
which have been directly affected by the growing threat
of Boko Haram.
More than 13,000 people
have been killed and over a
million made homeless as a
result of Boko Haram vio-
lence since 2009.

the ISIL Takfiri terrorist
group in the Middle East as
a malicious phenomenon
