Buyer’s obligation to inspect each item: Buyers are strongly encouraged to view all items auctioned on display before the auction to determine the
true condition and nature of any item(s) of interest. Although there is no legal requirement that each buyer inspect lots purchased before the
auction, the failure to inspect may constitute a waiver of that buyer’s complaint that the item was not delivered in a condition equal to the existent
condition at the auction as described in section 14 of these Conditions of Sale.
4.
All Sales Final: Notwithstanding any other terms of these conditions, any and all refunds shall be given at the sole discretion of JMA. Refunds requested on the grounds of authenticity must be made within 10 days of the auction date, and such requests must be accompanied by at least one
supporting statement in writing from a recognized authority stating that the painting or art sold is incorrect or not the work of the artist. A recognized authority shall be defined as a person who has authored, edited, or substantially contributed to a monograph on the artist, a person who has
curated, organized or substantially contributed to a solo exhibition on the artist, a person who has represented the artists estate or someone who
represented or worked closely with the artist while they were alive and, in any of the above instances physically handled works of the period, medium and subject matter in question during the course of their duties. Please note that dealers who advertise to buy a wide range of artists, appraisers
and representatives of other auction firms do not qualify as authenticators of individual artists unless they have had such specific involvement with
an artists work as specified above in addition to their daily duties. Any lot in question must be returned to JMA in the exact same condition as when
sold. Please be advised that JMA does not grant extensions to refund considerations based upon authenticity due to shipping delays. There are no
exceptions to this refund policy.
5.
The Right to withdraw Lots: JMA reserves the right to withdraw any lot before or at the sale.
6.
Buyer’s Premium: The purchase price payable by a buyer shall be the sum of the final bid plus a premium of 15% of the final bid price.

A 20% buyer’s premium shall apply on all purchases made via ebay Live.
7.
Lots are Subject to a Reserve Price: Some lots in the auction are subject to a reserve, which is the confidential minimum price below which the lot
will not be sold (the reserve). In no event will the reserve price exceed the low estimate. JMA shall act to protect the reserve by bidding through the
auctioneer. The auctioneer may open bidding on any lot below the reserve by placing a bid on behalf of the seller. The auctioneer may continue to
bid on behalf of the seller up to the amount of the reserve, either by placing consecutive bids or by placing bids in response to other bidders. The
estimates provided by JMA concerning a given lot, are carefully considered opinions of the cataloguer and fine art staff. Any estimates given are
merely suggestive guidelines for interested buyers. Buyers must be aware that paintings and art are subject to fluctuating values depending on the
subjective interests of collectors and a wide variety of other uncontrollable factors. The lots auctioned may sell at prices either above or below estimates.
8.
Winning Bid Constitutes an Immediate Transfer of Title: Title to the offered lot shall pass to the buyer upon the fall of the auctioneer‚s hammer and
announcement by the auctioneer that the lot has been sold, subject to compliance by the buyer with all other Conditions of Sale. The buyer shall
forthwith assume full risk and responsibility for the lot and shall pay the full purchase price or such part thereof as JMA, in its sole discretion, shall
require. In addition, the buyer may be required to sign a confirmation of purchase or abide by any other financial terms that JMA deems necessary
to protect the interest of the consignors.

Removal of Purchased lots: All items sold may not be removed from JMA’s premises, or the premises of the auction, until the buyer has paid in full
the purchase price therefor or has satisfied such terms, as JMA, in its sole discretion, shall require. Subject to the foregoing, all lots are to be paid
for and removed from JMA premises at the buyer’s expense no later than the third calendar day following the sale, and, if not so removed, JMA may
transfer any such lot to its warehouse at the risk and expense of the buyer. If a lot has not been collected the third calendar day following the sale
and JMA does transfer the uncollected property to its warehouse, the buyer will be liable to JMA for storage and handling charges of $10.00 per day
for each lot. In addition to other remedies available by law, JMA reserves the right to impose a late charge of 1% per month or the maximum permitted by law on the purchase price commencing on the day following the date on which payment is due if the buyer does not make payment in full

available by law, including the right to hold such defaulting buyer liable for the purchase price, (I) cancel the sale, retaining as liquidated damages
any payment made by the buyer, (II) resell the property without reserve at public auction or privately on seven days notice to the buyer, or (iii) take
such other action as we deem necessary or appropriate. If JMA resells the property, the original defaulting buyer shall be liable for the payments of
any deficiency in the purchase price and all costs and expenses, including warehousing, the expenses of both sales, reasonable attorneys‚ fees,
commissions, incidental damages and all other charges due hereunder. In the event that such buyer pays a portion of the purchase price for any or
all lots purchased, JMA shall apply the payment received to such lot or lots that JMA, in our sole discretion, deems appropriate. JMA shall have the
benefit of all rights of a secured party under the Uniform Commercial Code adopted in the State of California where the auction is held.
13.

absentee bid, telephone or other means, the buyer shall be deemed to have consented to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of such state and
the federal courts sitting in such state. Further, the buyer agrees that the venue for any action arising out of the failure to abide by the Conditions of
Sale, or any conduct related to or arising out of the auction, shall be the Los Angeles Superior Court, Pasadena Branch located at 300 E. Walnut

JMA may, in our discretion and as a service to buyers, arrange to have purchased lots packed, insured and forwarded at the request, expense and
risk of the buyer. JMA assumes no responsibility for acts or omissions in such packing or shipping by other packers or carriers, whether or not
recommended by JMA. Nor does JMA assume any responsibility for any damage to picture frames or to the glass therein. In circumstances in which
JMA arranges and bills for such services via invoice or credit card, JMA will include an administration charge.
In the case of JMA personally delivering an item, if an item cannot be delivered in condition equal to the existent condition at the time of sale, or
should any item be mis delivered, stolen or lost prior to delivery, JMA‚s liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the buyer at the auction. Buyers

foot, monogrammed ''AJ'', 4'' H x 4.25'' W x 2.5'' D, 4.5 oz, est:$3000/5000. Literature: A
very similar cream jug, with a plain foot, made by John Fitch for Mayor John Lawrence of
Burlington, NJ, is illustrated C. M. Williams. ''Silversmiths of New Jersey: 1700-1825'',
Philadelphia, 1949, p. 131, fig. 39. Note: John Fitch was born on a Hartford County,
Connecticut farm in 1743. As a teen he clerked and apprenticed for two clockmakers and,
by 1764, established his own brass shop. After two turbulent years of marriage Fitch
deserted his new family in 1769, and migrated to Trenton, New Jersey; cleaning clocks
and watches to fund his way. There Fitch briefly apprenticed with silversmith James
Wilson, who would soon succumb to alcoholism. Fitch then acquired much of Wilson's
equipment and established his own smithy. Business would prove successful enough that
he took on a number of journeymen. During the Revolution, Fitch was engaged as an
armorer until the 1776 battle of Trenton, when the British army ransacked his shop,
forcing his flight to Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Fitch subsequently embarked on several
schemes- all of which would end in failure. These involved land speculation in Kentucky;
surveying in the Northwest Territory, where he was captured by the Wyandot, remanded
to the British, and imprisoned in Canada; and ambitious plans for what would become
the first American steam engine-powered ship. Ultimately this last endeavor would prove
unprofitable as design flaws and ongoing patent disputes caused Fitch's business to falter.
Impoverished and dispirited, Fitch took his own life in 1798. Credit for developing the
steamship would later be awarded to Robert Fulton.
Though Fitch's account books indicate that his Trenton shop prospered, extant works are
scarce. Historian Carl M. Williams recounts in''Silversmiths of New Jersey, 1700-1825''
that there are known only two cream pots, seven tablespoons, two teaspoons and a pair
of sugar tongs bearing the mark of John Fitch's firm. Provenance: Property of a Private
Collector. Condition: Good overall condition. Surface patina largely rubbed off. Some
rubbing to monogram. Foot appears to be cast. Gadrooning somewhat rough and uneven.

29.5'' D, est:$1500/2500. Note: Little is known about Walter Lamb other than that he
was based in Hawaii in the first half of the 20th century, but his work has become
increasingly sought-after by today's collectors. In this era of rising gas prices, global
warming and reduction of natural resources, many contemporary designers focus on
sustainable design by utilizing discarded or waste materials. Either for a desire to salvage
and reuse or a simple need for any available materials with which to create, Lamb
scavenged bronze and copper piping and cotton cord from sunken naval ships after the
bombing of Pearl Harbor. He formed from these recovered materials what has become
his signature series of outdoor furniture and a paradigm of mid-20th century California
design. The unique and wonderful characteristics of these original pieces, aside from their
grace and minimalism, are that the metal frames attain a beautiful green patina from
outdoor exposure yet leave no marks on cement or wooden surfaces as they age. Lamb
worked for the Pasadena firm of Brown Jordan which had purchased the patent for his
work circa 1945. They continued to produce his designs, when the supply of harvested
ship parts had been depleted, using newly manufactured materials, until the 1970s.

Magazine, May/June 2006, volume 38, number 3, pp. 14-18. Note: Hudson Brisbine
Roysher's modern silver designs exemplify the movement of artists and craftsmen the
mid-20th century to break with tradition and experiment with contemporary forms and
ideas. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1911, Roysher began a career in industrial design after
graduating from Cleveland School of Art and Western Reserve University. He followed up
his studies in Cleveland by working as a design instructor and earning an M.B.A. from the
University of Southern California. He exhibited works in silver and exotic woods at
prestigious design shows like the May Show at the Cleveland Museum of art and the New
York gallery of the American Craftsmen's council. Roysher received orders from
prominent firms like Gump's, San Francisco as well as private clients such as Margaret
Lecky and the Gamble House in Pasadena. By the 1950s his interests moved from secular
to ecclesiastical silver due to his spiritual convictions and desire to broaden the scope of
his work by incorporating liturgical concepts in his designs. This and the following lot are
from Roysher's most famous church commissions, in Beverly Hills, California. The
church's Gothic style inspired the dramatic, attenuated forms and crenellated decoration
of the pieces he produced. In 1971, he was appointed as chairman of the art department
at Los Angeles State College and subsequently declined further commissions to focus on
his academic responsibilities. Roysher died in Los Angeles in 1998. Condition:
