BPANJ Announces Exciting Summer
Promotional Program with Miller High Life
•The promotion will take place June 15 through August 31, 2010.
•Bowling centers will be given a Passport theme
designed printed card to distribute to their
customers ages 21 and older.
•The Passport will advise the customers to go to
the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of North Jersey
web site and view the Miller High Life Passport to
Summer Fun page.
•Each week throughout the summer a different coupon
will be able to be downloaded and printed for the
customers to use.
•Customers could also opt into an e-mail club in which the
coupons will be e-mailed to them each week.
•Coupon offers would tie in Miller High Life, such as Pizza, Pins & Miller High Life two hours of bowling, shoe rentals, pizza, pitcher of beer for one price per lane. Other
offers tieing in Miller High Life would be structured, too. Please note that the beer will
not be discounted — it will be sold at full price.
•There will also be a prize entry opportunity in which people can win Miller High Life
premium items and a grand prize. No purchase will be necessary to enter. The prize
drawings would take place at the end of the summer.
•Each center will be provided a promotional banner and 50 table tents.
•Each center will receive five separate Miller High Life premium items for each bowling
center prize drawings.
•The association will receive one grand prize (i.e., concert tickets, professional sports
team game tickets, etc.).
Use the new Apple I Pad
to Grow Your Business!
Apple sold 300,000 I Pads over the first weekend of April. This neat little device
lets you read books, play games, read newspapers, do computer work, surf the
web, email, look up maps, store a calendar, take notes, place a You Tube video,
and watch movies. I am sure I left a few features out, but you get the idea. All
this in a book size tablet that’s about nine inches by 5 inches.
With this new high tech device, many people will be clamoring for it. In fact,
your bowling center could give one away and reap the benefits of an increased
data base, more lineage and hopefully more profit...especially as we push into
the warmer months.
Set up an email campaign that offers an I Pad as a first place prize to anybody
who comes into the center and bowls during your cosmic bowling or weekday
night bowling event. Entries must be completely filled out including email;
employees and family members re not eligible and only one I Pad will be given
out after 30 days. You can include other prizes as well like I Tunes gift cards for
$25, $10 and $5.
The point is to use your existing data base. If you can segment it against an
under 35 audience, all the better. Maybe even place a facebook ad (go back and
re-read my blog on how to set it up) You can do this for as little as $50 a day for
a couple of days a week for 4 weeks. (use keywords like electronics, Apple
computers, I Pads, web, etc.
Yes the I Pad is $499, but that’s a small price to pay to be the coolest bowling
center in town. Just ask my daughter and her boyfriend. They’re “20
somethings” and this was their brainstorm.

and the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of Southern New Jersey, the
New Jersey Restaurant Education Foundation is conducting a
Bowling for a Wish program.
When you and/or your group bowl during the period of Monday, April 26
through Friday, May 7, 15% of your open bowling and shoe rental
purchase will be contributed to the New Jersey Restaurant Education Foundation.
The New Jersey Restaurant Educational Foundation (NJREF) is a 501(c)3. We are the educational
arm of the New Jersey Restaurant Association. The goal of the NJREF is to inspire youth to choose
the industry as a career, to enhance the skills of our workforce, to promote the industry as a
