Sixth Sunday of Easter
Family Prayer
L
oving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times
of war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you,
Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in
the battle of today against violence, murder and racism.
We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build
a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives
respect to the life and dignity of all people.
Bless parents that they may form their children in faith.
Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost
loved ones through violence.
Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a
voice for life and human dignity in our community.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us.
Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy
family.
May Crowning
All children are invited to bring a flower for Mary as we
crown our Lady on Mother’s Day, May 8 during the entrance hymn of the 10:30 am Mass.
Mass Children should

Come, Holy Ghost
1. Come, Holy Ghost, Creator blest,
And in our hearts take up thy rest;
Come with thy grace and heav'nly aid
To fill the hearts
which thou hast made,
To fill the hearts
which thou hast made.
true faith in you.
2. Make me a channel
of your peace.
Where there’s despair in life,
let me bring hope.
Where there is
darkness only light,
and where there is
sadness ever joy.
3. O Master, grant that
I may never seek
so much to be consoled,
as to console,
to be understood,
2. O Comforter, to thee we cry,
Thou heav'nly gi% of God most high;
Thou fount of life, and fire of love,
And sweet anoin&ng from above,
And sweet anoin&ng from above.

Make Me a Channel of Your Peace
1. Make me a channel
of your peace.
Where there is hatred,
let me bring your love.
Where there is injury,
your pardon Lord,
And where there’s doubt,
You Are Mine
1. I will come to you in the silence,
I will li% you from all your fear.
You will hear my voice,
I claim you as my choice,
be s&ll and know I am here.
2. I am hope for all who are hopeless,
I am eyes for all who long to see.
In the shadows of the night,
I will be your light,
come and rest in me.
Refrain
Do not be afraid, I am with you.
I have called you each by name.
Come and follow me,
I will bring you home;
I love you and you are mine.
3. I am strength for all the despairing,
healing for the ones
who dwell in shame.
All the blind will see,
the lame will all run free,
and all will know my name.
3. O Holy Ghost, through thee alone,
Know we the Father and the Son;
Be this our firm unchanging creed,
That thou dost from
them both proceed,
That thou dost from
them both proceed.
4. Praise we the Lord, Father and Son,
And Holy Spirit with them one;
And may the Son on us bestow
All gi%s that from the Spirit flow,
All gi%s that from the Spirit flow.
Communion
as to understand,
to be loved as to love
with all my soul.
4. Make me a channel
of your peace.
It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned,
In giving of ourselves
that we receive,
And in dying that
we’re born to eternal life.

Alegría de Vivir
Estribillo
Cantando la alegría de vivir,
lleguemos a la casa del Señor;
marchando todos juntos
como hermanos,
andemos los caminos hacia Dios.
1. Venid, entremos todos
dando gracias;
venid, cantemos todos al Señor,
gritemos a la Roca que nos salva,
cantemos la alabanza a
nuestro Dios.
2. La paz del Señor sea con vosotros:
la paz que llena sola el corazón,
la paz de estar unidos
como hermanos,
la paz que nos promete
nuestro Dios.
3. Entremos por las puertas
dando gracias,
pidamos al Señor también perdón,
perdón por nuestra
falta a los hermanos,
perdón por nuestro pobre corazón.
4. Sabed que Dios nos hizo y
somos suyos,
sabed que el Señor es nuestro Dios.
Nosotros somos pueblo y las ovejas,
ovejas del rebaño del Señor.
Oración de San Francisco
1. Hazme un instrumento de tu paz,
donde haya odio lleve yo tu amor,
donde haya injuria tu perdón, Señor,
donde haya duda, fe en &.
2. Hazme un instrumento de tu paz,
que lleve tu esperanza por doquier,
donde haya oscuridad lleve tu luz,
donde haya pena, tu gozo, Señor.
Estribillo
Maestro, ayúdame a nunca buscar
el ser consolado sino consolar,
ser entendido sino entender,
ser amado si no yo amar.

3. El que coma de mi carne
y beba de mi sangre
vive de vida eterna
y yo lo resucitaré.
4. Yo soy la resurrección.
Yo soy la vida.

fuente de la salvación,
incorporados a Cristo,
somos la Iglesia de Dios.
3. Escuchando la palabra,
compar&endo el mismo pan,

In the Breaking of the Bread
Refrain
In the breaking of the bread,
we knew him, Lord Jesus.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
1. Were not our hearts
burning as he spoke?
Were not our hearts
yearning for the Word of God?
2. Put your hand here,
see the place of nails.
Blessed are those
who have not seen, but believe.
3. Risen is Christ,
he who died for us.
Risen is Christ,
shepherd who died for his flock.
4. Sing to the Lord,
all you na&ons, praise.
Great is our God,
worthy to be praised.
5. Taste and see,
see and behold God.
“God is rich in mercy . . .” Ephesians 2:4
Taste and see,
see your God and believe.
6. I am the vine,
you, the branches.
Live in me,
I in you, and bear much fruit.
7. Is not the cup,
Christ outpoured, our God?
One bread, one cup
show our oneness in God.

Holy God, We Praise Thy Name
1. Holy God, we praise thy name!
Lord of all, we bow before thee;
All on earth thy scepter claim,
All in heav'n above adore thee;
Infinite thy vast domain,
Everlas&ng is thy reign.
Infinite thy vast domain,
Everlas&ng is thy reign.
2. Hark! the loud celes&al hymn
Angel choirs above are raising;
Cherubim and Seraphim
In unceasing chorus praising,
Fill the heav'ns with sweet accord:
Holy, holy, holy Lord!
Fill the heav'ns with sweet accord:
Holy, holy, holy Lord!
3. Holy Father, Holy Son,
Holy Spirit, Three we name thee,
While in essence only One,
Undivided God we claim thee,
And adoring bend the knee,
While we own the mystery.
And adoring bend the knee,
While we own the mystery.

Take And Eat
Refrain
Take and eat; take and eat:
this is my body given up for you.
Take and drink; take and drink:
this is my blood given up for you.
And we cry, "Holy is the Father!"
And we cry, "Holy is the son!"
And we cry,
"Holy is the Spirit of our God!"
And we sing "Glory with the angels."
And we pray for mercy with the saints.
One faith, one hope, one God.
1. I am the Word that spoke and
light was made; I am the seed that
died to be reborn; I am the bread that
comes from heav'n above;
I am the vine
that fills your cup with joy.
2. I am the way that leads the
exile home; I am the truth that sets
the cap&ve free; I am the life that
raises up the dead; I am your peace,
true peace my gi% to you.
The eyes of God are searching
all over the land.
He calls the young, the old,
the woman and man.
The fear of God enduring and pure.
The love of God eternal and sure,
great in pow'r and wonderful.
3. I am the Lamb that takes away
your sin; I am the gate that guards
you night and day; You are my flock:
you know the shepherd's voice;
You are my own:
your ransom is my blood.
And we cry, "Holy is the Father!"
And we cry, "Holy is the Son!"
And we cry,
"Holy is the Spirit of our God!"
And we sing "Glory with the angels."
And we pray for mercy with the saints.
One faith, one hope, one God.
4. I am the cornerstone that
God has laid; A chosen stone
and precious in his eyes;
You are God's dwelling place,
on me you rest; Like living stones,
a temple for God's praise.
And we cry, "Holy is the Father!"
And we cry, "Holy is the Son!"
And we cry,
"Holy is the Spirit of our God!"
And we sing "Glory with the angels."
And we pray for mercy with the saints.
One faith, one hope, one God.

In The Light
1. I keep trying to find a life
on my own, apart from You.
I am the king of excuses;
I've got one
for every selfish thing I do.
Tell me, what's going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior.
This only serves to confirm
my suspicions that I'm s&ll a man
in need of a Savior.
How Great Is Our God
1. The splendor of the King,
clothed in majesty;
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice.
He wraps Himself in light,
and darkness tries to hide,
and trembles at His voice,
and trembles at His voice.
Refrain
I wanna be in the light
as You are in the light.
I wanna shine like the stars
in the heavens.

The Father sends and we receive the Holy Spirit
After the last supper, Jesus
spent time reminding the
Apostles that He would be
leaving them, and in response
to their concerns He promised
them, “The Counselor, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will
send in my name, He will
teach you all things, and bring
to your remembrance all that
I have said to you.” John
14:26.
Who is this Holy Spirit? He is
the third person of the Holy
Trinity – Father, Son and Spirit. All Christians receive the
Holy Spirit at Baptism and at Confirmation. He teaches
us about God, He comforts us in our grief and disillusionment. He brings joy and enlightenment and He empowers us to be strong in times of trouble. And so much
more…
“Come Holy Spirit, we need You, come in Your power
and might. Cleanse us, heal us, guide us, empower us to
be strong when we are weak. Come sweet Spirit, we
pray.”
Reflection by Anne-Marie d’Abadie Barrilleaux
When we invite the Sacred Heart of Jesus into our family
through the enthronement, the Holy Spirit comes as
well. For information please contact Anne-Marie
d'Abadie at 443-2204 or email [email protected]
(English), or Lynda Peña at 338-4306 (Spanish).
In July 2015, a beautiful garden Memorial for children
who attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School and/or
who worshipped at St. Elizabeth/Divine Mercy was
dedicated on our school grounds. It was gifted by some

others who have died. The Memorial is outside the

to the new school grounds when our new school is
built. You are invited to visit and offer a prayer for our
children any time.
If you or anyone you know would like to add a name to
this Memorial in memory of a young or an adult child
who attended SEAS or worshipped in our church community, please feel free to contact Mary T or Jim
deBrueys so that we can help make that possible. Our
number is 225-388-9822 (home office).
Cave Quest: Vacation Bible School

This year, the Camp will now be available for children in
grades K—6th from June 27—July 1st. VBS is a summer
camp program that includes daily scripture review and
activities about how God plays a role in our lives. Anyone who is interested in either attending VBS as a
camper or volunteering, you may either print out the

Narthex of Church after Mass. Bring forms back to
church or when Elementary Catechesis, EDGE, or
Lifeteen meet. For more information contact Jacques
Delouche at [email protected] or Ryan
Foulon at [email protected] We hope to
see many of you on this thrilling experience.
Jesus speaks to his disciples in the Gospel today.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you...Do not
let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27)
You can have peace in your heart where God is concerned because you know that God is leading you.
“Peace is a by-product of trusting God and knowing
that He is in control.” (Larson, Carolyn. What Does the
Bible Say About That? Wheaton: Crossway Books,
2009. print.
At Life Teen and Edge we discuss achieving “peace” in
our daily life through developing a closer relationship
with Jesus. You are welcome to join us as we find the
“peace” of Jesus.

Sixth Sunday of Easter

les he dicho. "Juan 14:26.
Wheaton: Crossway, 2009. En Life Teen y Edge, logramos

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in
the Blessed Sacrament. I love You
above all
things, and I
long for You in
my soul. Since I
cannot now
receive You
sacramentally,
come at least
spiritually into
my heart. As
though You have already come, I
embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be
separated from You.
Acto de Comunión
Espiritual
alma. Como
ahora no puedo recibirte
sacramentalmente, al menos ven a mi corazón espiritualmente. Como ya has venido, Yo te
abrazo y me uno enteramente a Ti.
Nunca permitas que me separe de
ti.
