Sing other songs leaving out more and more words. Once your child is skilled at this game, sing relay songs with him/her by starting a song, then stopping it and letting him/her pick up where you left. Let’s chitchat! Invite family members to chitchat or to discuss a particular subject. Everyone gets a chance to speak but at the sound of a bell, whomever is speaking stops and lets the next person either pursue the conversation or pick a new topic he/ she would like to discuss. To help a child who is out of ideas, suggest he/she do one of the following: - tell an anecdote; - describe a picture; - speak of his/her favorite book’s cover page. Voilà une soupe pleine de rimes!
