Welcome, welcome, welcome to Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Ormond Beach and all
the beaches in between!
First, I want to thank Iron Horse for the cover. Cool shirt, huh? As always Mike, the artwork
is awesome! And while you are the Iron Horse, check out the Easy Rider Tour.
I also want to thank the law firm of Vasileros & Politis for the back cover. Yes, they ride, too. Well, you are here to ride, so let’s talk about some places to go. Start up north a little bit with
the White Eagle – it’s a scenic ride – take the loop. It is a must see, still natural, part of Florida. You can continue on A1A all the way up to St. Augustine. What a sight! Plenty of places to stop
and take in the view.
Head west to Seminole County, take time to stop in Sanford – one of the oldest cities in
Central Florida. Lake Monroe is a beautiful waterway that ran citrus in the early 1800’s. While you are out there, stop and see Seminole
Harley Davidson – they have a lot going on during Bike Week with live bands, killer discounts on selected items, and it is only a short
drive from Daytona. Head a little further west & you’ll find Universal Studios. They will be hosting Pat Benatar and Barenaked Ladies during Bike Week. Willie’s Old School Chopper Show – this is the one to see. The best ride-in show in Daytona, and Willie’s is the best tattoo shop in
Daytona. It all happens on Thursday, March 5th.
Pub 44 in New Smyrna Bch. is also a nice little ride with great food on the table waiting for you – it’s a little hidden paradise in the
heart of New Smyrna Beach (there's a Pub 44 on Main St. in Daytona, too). Stop by New Smyrna Harley Davidson while you are there. Another cool place to see is The Last Resort – it is a “killer” bar – no pun intended! My favorite subject – let’s talk about food. Famous Philly’s! They are the real deal – right out of Philadelphia – wit’ or wit’ out! They
are located in Port Orange, and also at the Broken Spoke Saloon during Bike Week.
Caribbean Jacks is a great hidden spot in Daytona. It is my favorite hideaway. Just over the bridge from mayhem is a quiet sanctuary
where you will find great food, live entertainment – and it’s right on the waterfront. You’ll meet some of the best wait staff in Daytona. A special thanks to Greg. He and his great staff are what make Caribbean Jacks a place not to miss.
Breakdowns are a bummer – call the Happy Hooker – you won’t get screwed! They can take you up to Chris at Cycle Solutions. He
can fix anything. He also has a brand new Lift & Lube, oil change while you wait, it is a factory authorized full service oil change facility,
and he has lots of performance products, too.
Aaron Tippin will appear in concert on City Island, for KRO Country’s Birthday bash. This is a FREE music festival. Broken Spoke, Jay Allen and company, and the world’s greatest bike show. Jay Allen has assembled some of the best acts, best food,
best burnouts, best contests – all for your viewing pleasures! A must to see.
Chopper Challenge at the Battlegrounds – all bikes as built on CMT. And there’s all kinds of entertainment, things to buy, see & do.
I may not be Irish, but I drink like I am – for those people - go to Finnegan’s. Stop by and see if you can see the Leprechaun.
Last, but not least, you need to see WWCF Hog Brawl at Destination Daytona! There’s not a bad seat in the house.
