Thoughts From The Publisher
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to Daytona Beach,
and New Smyrna Beach, and Flagler Beach! Hopefully,
we won’t have a lot of rain during this Rally and you’ll be able to get out
and ride. That IS the purpose of coming to the Rally! We’re gonna give
you some places to visit.
First I’d like to thank Iron Horse for the front cover. As always – Mike
you do great work. Thanks to Colleen Schwartz of Digital Big Shots is
responsible for several photos of the “hotties” in this issue. Check out
her web site.
Next topic – Events. Bret Michaels is playing at the Broken Spoke.
That money goes for our troops in Iraq. They also have live entertainment every night and some of the
craziest contests you have ever seen.
Just off the beaten path – Caribbean Jacks. Waterfront dining, relaxed atmosphere, a place for dining,
dancing and romancing.
Tattoos – Willie’s Chopper Show. Don’t bring the kids. If you’ve never been here, Cabbage Patch ain’t
got nothin’ on this! And they tattoo here all year. Stay out of tents, trailers and kitchens.
On to Seminole County. You gotta ride around Lake Monroe. It’s Florida at its best. Stop by and see
Seminole Harley Davidson/Buell. Great deals, lots of parking, best prices, and the parts manager, Steve
(a/k/a Wheels) knows old and new school. He’s been doing this a long time. They are having sales on parts
and motor clothes that makes it worth the short drive.
Down 17-92 into Longwood, stop by and see Shovelhead. It’s a local bar with local prices.
Girls, girls, girls at Lollipops! It is upscale, with top entertainment, and IS a Ladies and Gentlemen’s
Club. First class international adults entertainment.
Doc Baileys is at Daytona Harley and Destination. This is not just for your boots. It is for all your leather
needs. It protects and restores. Wait until you see.
Now for your need for speed – see Chris at Cycle Solutions. He will make your Bike sing.
Just across from Iron Horse Saloon is K&D Seafood. Great seafood, and right in the middle of the
Ormond strip. Look for their white and red seafood trailer.
New location! Come see Carl’s Speed Shop and his new showroom. Big Dog, apparel and stuff to make
you go fast – all available.
Hogs on the High Seas. Selling out fast for next year. Don’t be left on the pier! And with that – no cure
like a sea cure – for all my brother Navy folks, you’ll know what I mean.
I want to wish our Veterans a happy holiday, and a safe return. Don’t forget to help the people less
fortunate than you for the upcoming holidays. Put something in the donation box.
I want to thank my sales staff, Paul, Thunder for the great maps, Linda for your magic typing fingers,
Jerry you complete me (ha! Ha!), Frank and Jane – the Printer Gods – as always, out on time.
Be sure to tell the advertisers in the Pocket Guide that you saw their ad. If you aren’t in the Book, you
should be. There are so many people out there that are selling an inferior product. We are the original
Biker’s Pocket Guide® and are starting our 14th year of service to the biking community. We didn’t just
ride into town. We live in this town! We’re available online prior to the Rally (that way you can do some
planning), and the Books stays online for an entire year. If you are interested in advertising with The Bikers
Pocket Guide®, we are a national publication. We do Daytona – Bike Week and Biketoberfest®; Myrtle
Beach Spring and Fall Rallies, and Sturgis. Please visit our website where all the information you need is at
your fingertips. Our web address is www.bikerspocketguide.com, or you can call me at (386) 323-9955.
Have a safe Biketoberfest®. Think before you drink. Don’t leave your drink unattended. It’s not the
bartenders’ job to watch it. And please take care of your servers and bartenders who are working hard to
make your Biketoberfest® a memorable one. And be safe.
Remember – rubber side down, shiny side up.
Made and printed in the good ol’ US of A.
Lots of love to Ronnie and Robin.
