VENETIAN
MACAO
Encompassing fine luxury suites, upscale shopping, entertainment
and gourmet dining all under one roof, The Venetian Macao holds
the record as the largest casino in the world. After opening in August
2007, the Venetian remains Asia’s largest single-structure hotel
building. The 40-story resort holds 3,000 suites.
The Venetian recently expanded to enlarge its convention space, as

well as cover several new hotel properties. With the added volume
of users, the resort’s previous network capabilities began to fail
due to the inability to handle the broadened range and increased
bandwidth usage.
To find a more advanced high-speed Internet access (HSIA)
solution, The Venetian needed to define how its entire
infrastructure supported failover.
In addition to finding a stable HSIA solution that would cover
its expanse, The Venetian needed to implement a link-failover
application to ensure seamless access for up to 10,000
simultaneous users.

To effectively ensure uninterrupted HSIA usage regardless of user
volume, The Venetian partnered with Synergy Technologies, a

leading IT company in Hong Kong, and Nomadix.
Nomadix offered four pairs of their AG 5800 gateways equipped
with failover module add-ons.
Nomadix API was able to facilitate portal-page redirection by
integrating tightly with The Venetian’s property management
system, SDD Jazz PMS.

With just four AG 5800 gateways in place, The Venetian can now
provide reliable HSIA to all of their guests within the structure’s
10.5 million square feet.
Scalability
The quality and consistency of The Venetian’s now-stable Internet
connection via the Nomadix AG 5800 gateway more effectively
serves anywhere from one to 10,000 simultaneous guests.
Backup Links
In the event of a broken connection, Nomadix’s failover modules
are able to seamlessly transfer traffic to another link until the
original is up and running once again.
