All camps include an exciting variety of recreational activities: arts & crafts, special projects, active and quiet games, sports and swimming (weather permitting). SESSION 1: MARCH 28–APRIL 1, 5 Days • 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Itty Bitty Ooey Gooey Science........................Grades K–3 Is your child the one that can’t stay clean? Do they love nothing more than playing in the slimiest, gooiest, ickiest and stickiest stuff they can get their hands on? Introducing Icky Sticky Camp: perfect for a young child who just loves all that is slimy yet satisfying! Price: $320.00; JCC Member Price: $263.00 Tennis Camp......................................................Grades 3–7 Ken Heidman, JCC Teaching pro, will lead this tennis-training program, assisted by a staff experienced in working with younger players. Tennis Camp is appropriate for campers of all skill levels who wish to improve their game. Each morning will focus on the fundamental areas covering: ground strokes, serves, volleys, match play, fitness and footwork. In the afternoon, Tennis Camp and Spies: Secrets, Ciphers, and Stealth will combine for swimming and other activities. Price: $320.00; JCC Member Price: $263.00 Spies: Secrets, Ciphers and Stealth................Grades 3–7 Join our “Spies: Secrets, Ciphers, and Stealth” camp, and learn the fundamentals of what it takes to be a successful secret agent: Learn the basics of making and breaking codes and ciphers; make a cool alias to disguise your identity when you are in the field; learn how to make impromptu disguises and blend in as just another face in the crowd; exercise your imagination and show your resourcefulness as you make useful gadgets and learn new tricks using everyday items; learn the important skills of observation and deductive reasoning to be able to secretly discover enemy plans; and (for when all else fails) show off your inner James Bond as you run and shoot (with slingshots and soft plastic projectiles: well-supervised and totally safe) your way out of a sticky situation. Kids will have the time of their lives, and learn what it takes to be a super-spy! No, it’s Itty Bitty Superheroes camp! Campers will have a blast as they become their favorite hero, or a new hero all their own: fighting evil, designing their cool super hero capes and costumes, and fighting crime! Learn how to make delectable delights, plentiful palatable potions, and other forms of magical tasty treats of all sorts, all while gaining the basics of cooking that you can use well beyond our week-long camp. In addition to cooking up some goodies, we may also teach you a trick, or two, or a few, to confound and befuddle muggles of all ages. Price: $320.00; JCC Member Price: $263.00 SPRING CAMP 2016 INFORMATION Extended Care (Available for an additional fee) Times: 8:00–9:00 a.m. and 3:30–6:00 p.m. (Closes at 5:00 p.m. on April 1,8) PRICE: $8.50; JCC Member Price $7.75 Fee for late pick-up is $1.00 per minute. Medication If your child needs to take medication it must be delivered to a Camp Director via the parent. Each medication must be in a prescription bottle, which includes the name, telephone number, and dosage. Please fill out a Medication Authorization Form at the Camp Office. Medication must be claimed within three days after camp ends or it will be disposed of. Lost and Found What to Bring Please make sure all campers bring a dairy lunch and swim suit. Campers are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Parent Drop Off and Pick Up Parents are encouraged to put their child’s name on possessions brought to camp (clothing, shoes, towels, lunch boxes, etc.). Lost items can be claimed in the lost-and-found box located in the Team Lounge. Please leave items of value at home. Lunch and Snack Drop off: 9:00 a.m. • Pick up: 3:30 p.m. Drop off and pick up is located in the Main Building • From Regents Road, turn right onto Eastgate Mall and then turn right into the back parking lot of the JCC. • From Genesee, turn left onto Eastgate Mall, then turn left into the back parking lot of the JCC. When picking up your child, please do not leave your car unattended. A counselor will come to your car and ask you to identify yourself. A staff member will then bring your child to you. If you arrive before 8:45 a.m. for drop off or after 3:50 p.m. for pick-up, please park in a designated spot and bring or pick up your child in the Teen Lounge. Swimming (Weather permitting) All campers will have the opportunity to swim each day and are encouraged, but not required to participate. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and something to carry them in. A plastic bag is suggested for wet clothes. Please put your child’s name on all belongings to help prevent loss. Please pack a dairy lunch (no meat or poultry) and drink for each day. Write your child’s name on their lunch bag to help with distribution. Lunches will be kept in a cool place, but not refrigerated. A snack will be provided each day. Ice water will be provided throughout the day. Enrollment A completed Spring Camp Extravaganza Registration Form, located on the back of this brochure, must be completed by the first day of camp.
