Design: The cost of the design and plate for a standard bookplate is £50. (Complex designs may be more)
(Prices for letterpress include the cost of a block, that can be used for re-prints)
The cost of an engraved copperplate will depend on the amount of work and detail required to be carried out by
the hand engraver. This engraving is a supreme skill and will be done by a master hand engraver. (circa £200+)

Choice of Papers:
We would recommend the following papers:
A. Soft White 100% cotton paper (100gsm), a high quality paper that is perfect for letterpress, but is not
gummed. It has to be individually stuck nto your books by hand.
B. Soft White recycled laid paper (100gsm) for a textured feel, again not gummed on the reverse.
C. Natural White peel & stick smooth paper (90gsm). All processes print well on this paper. It is the
easiest paper to stick into books, but the positioning of the plate has to be done with care, as once
contact with the page of the book is made, instant adhesion is achieved.
D. Bright White gummed paper (90gsm). This is a very smooth paper with the advantage that a small
amount of re-positioning of the plate can be done once the gum is still wet.
E. Custom papers can also be used.Please enquire about this.

Although any size of bookplate can be produced, prices above are for bookplate size of 70mm x
100mm.
