Lowrance units generally get shipped with one of 3 primary transducers: Set Parameter: This test was done on a BassGlider20, using a Lowrance HDS8, doing a speed of 2.5kph maintaining a bearing of 275° at location S 29°41.124’ / E 030°50.254’ (Inanda Dam, KZN,SA) 1. HST-WSBL: Transom Mount while being powered by main motor Remarks: The benefit of the Broadband in the 83kHz (left) is clearly visible. 2. PDT-WBL: Trolling motor mount while powered by trolling motor Remarks: Some interference is noticeable on the right (200kHz) side due to the ‘noise’ coming from the electric motor. When the electric motor is off, the echo display is identical to the HST-WSBL transom mount skimmer. 3. HST-DFSBL: Transom mount while powered by main motor. Remarks: This image on the left from the 35° / 50kHz comes as a bit of a shock. It might be a bit more ‘noisy’ than the previous two in the 83kHz frequency, but the definition between bottom structure and cover (standing timber), is fantastic. Even in the cover, the definition seems so much better for locating fish. The 200kHz however is not that great for us freshwater anglers.
