Trifle Dish
Some of the best times and happiest
moments happen when families gather
around for a celebration meal where
the grand finale is a sweet treat! Our
craftsmen at Hazel’s Blown Glass have
created a dessert inspired Trifle Dish that
will delight your family and be passed
down from generation to generation.
The City’s classic candy shop
holds sweet treats inside, so
delicious that our families have
tried and true favorites they’ve
come back for since 1968. It was in
that year June Ward started a career
that would become a way of life for
the master candy maker.
June started in the Post Office
located on the Square, where she
hand-stamped the ever-popular
postcards and letters guests wished
to mail home to their envious friends
while on vacation. That same year,
the newest edition to The City was
added, Brown’s Candy Factory.
Good hands were needed to train in
the art of candy making…the rest is
history.
Brown’s
Candy
Factory
produces over 90,000 lbs. of goodies
per year in hundreds of varieties.
From their top selling Peanut
Brittle, hand-dipped Clusters and
decadent Turtles, to 15 kinds of
Fudge, Toffee, Divinity and guest
favorites like Chocolate Covered
Strawberries dipping over 31,000
per year. NEW for 2016, June and
team adds cake flavored Suckers,
Sticks and Pillow Candy and Tiger
Butter Dipped Oreos in honor of
America’s Celebration of Family.

The finest leather goods crafted by hand
Tucked behind the Wilderness
Church just off the beaten path
of Hugo’s Hill Street lies the
Moutain Leather Shop. Home to
the finest leather wares and Master
Craftsmen, Vada Swearingen, the
shop eagerly awaits guests looking
for handcrafted leather pieces.
Vada has been working with
leather for over 25 years when
first learning to sew on her
grandmother’s sewing machine.
Shortly after learning how to sew
leather boots, she found herself
integrated into the popular business
that calls Southwest Missouri
home—Justin Boots. Based on her
talent and ability, it wasn’t long
after that numerous craftsmen
from around the area were eager
to steal her away! Being the Home
of American Craftsmanship, Silver
Dollar City was one such place that
found Vada’s skills impressive and
genuine and thought she would
make a unique addition to The
City’s Mountain Leather Shop over
Vada is not the only craftsman
residing at the Mountain Leather
shop, Randy Morris also tools
leather wares for guests specializing
in the stamping and personalization
of leather. Together Vada and Randy
constantly look to create new
products. Mountain Leather is the
home of handcrafted wallets, leather
jackets, ponchos and vests, leather
bound journals, jewelry, and most
popular, leather hats and belts. Not
only do the leather belts come with
various designs and themes such as
forestry, homestead and western,
but they are also made available for
personalization. Because leather
molds to the wearer, it guarantees a
perfect fit every time!
Stop by the Mountain Leather
shop to see all of Vada and Randy’s
featured items and meet these
talented artisans yourself!

Wild mustangs return
Thought of as America’s last piece
of the Wild West, a true cowboy
icon and at times, a mysterious
beast…the Wild Mustang returns
to Silver Dollar City. Sponsored by
the Bureau of Land Management
and the Mustang Heritage
Foundation. Fred Woehl, who is
a member of the National Wild
Horse & Burro Advisory Board
appointed by the Secretary of
the Interior and the Secretary
of Agriculture, has worked with
many a mustang over the years.
“Mustangs have taught me more
about horses and myself than
anything else I have ever done…
patience, prayer, body language,
understanding, not taking things
personal,
creative
thinking,
different perspectives…if more
people understood the true reward
and could grasp the real meaning,
no mustang would ever want for a
home,” says Woehl.
This year Fred brings back a
crowd favorite—Blue, along with
his new partner, Birdie May from
Oregon. Two horses gathered from
the great state of Wyoming, Maggie
and Pearl, will also be shown and
will be available for adoption with
silent bids taken until the end of
the Festival. All proceeds will be
used to further the adoptions of
these wonderful horses into good
homes.
Visit with Fred and the mustangs
in Red Gold Heritage Hall’s
Courtyard (D-7) today for more
information.
He is five & already a cowboy.
His family, from the West Plains, Missouri area, brings him to
Silver Dollar City in 1964 where he spots a historic 84-year-old stagecoach.
His eyes grow wider…Little could he imagine he would someday seek
and own that very stagecoach and take it on epic journeys, delivering
children’s letters from state to state.
Half a century later, a boy’s dream comes full circle,
as Cowboy Rick Hamby brings his stagecoach home to Silver Dollar City.
• The Journey Stagecoach was originally built in 1880 by a coach
company in New Hampshire, and was sent west to work on the
Overland Stage Lines carrying passengers and mail. It was retired in
southern Arizona in 1905. It was stored until 1955, then purchased
and used by a New York theme park for five years.
• In 1960, the Herschend Family, founders of Silver Dollar City,
purchased the coach, another coach and Henry Ford’s steam train.
They were all put to work as the legendary Silver Dollar Line until
their retirement in the 1970s. Thousands of guests rode in this
authentic stagecoach during that time. The Journey Stagecoach
was then used as decor for Silver Dollar City until it was sold to a
blacksmith from Arkansas.
AmericA’s
MOST ENTERTAINING
DINNER CRUISE
• In 1998, Cowboy Rick Hamby, searching the Ozarks for stage parts
& pieces, discovered the historic old coach in tall weeds behind a
barn in Clarkridge, Arkansas. While in bad shape, it still had its Silver
Dollar City door and even the metal “inventory control tag” – proving
its authenticity. Cowboy Rick Hamby purchased it and restored it,
using as much of the original wood and metal as possible.
• In 2001, The Journey Stagecoach began its new career with what
has become the Hambys’ signature children’s pen pal program,
delivering mail from children in Missouri to children in Arizona,
completing the first Missouri-to-Arizona overland mail run by
stagecoach in over 120 years.
• Since 2001, The Journey Stagecoach has created thousands of
pen pals, touching the hearts of children in multiple states, and
has completed eight long distance runs, including The Last Stage to
Matador, TX, May 2016.
See The Journey Stagecoach on the Square (H-5) during the National Harvest & Cowboy Festival!

products that produce vapor or smoke is not permitted in our City except in designated areas. This includes,
but is not limited to, inside any building, ride lines, venue lines, and walkways. There are 9 Designated Smoking
Areas located throughout the City as indicated on the map.
Language - Please show common courtesy to guests and hosts by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe,
illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior.
Line Jumping - Line jumping or saving a space in line is strictly prohibited and may result in dismissal from
the park without compensation.
Before Enjoying Our Rides - For your safety, some rides have height, health, size and/or age restrictions.
Please read the posted Safety and Rider Responsibility advisories at each ride. All guests are required to be
restrained on applicable attractions through the use of shoulder harnesses, lap bars, seat belts, etc., that
must be positioned properly. (Neither ride personnel nor guests may use excessive force to secure a restraint
system.) Larger or taller guests may experience difficulty on The Giant Barn Swing, PowderKeg, WildFire, FireFall,
Thunderation, Fire-In-The-Hole or Outlaw Run. For your convenience, test seats are available at PowderKeg,
Outlaw Run and WildFire. Loose articles are not permitted on most rides. (This includes: hats, purses, cell
phones, cameras, bags, personal electronics, pocket change, etc. Waist or fanny packs are not permitted on
The Giant Barn Swing, FireFall, PowderKeg, Thunderation, Outlaw Run or WildFire.) Please leave valuables with
a non-rider or secure them in park lockers, available for rent. Unsecured storage bins are available at most rides,
however, Silver Dollar City cannot take responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged articles. Some rides may close
during inclement weather or for required maintenance, but will reopen as soon as possible. A Ride/Attraction
Guidebook is available at the Front Gate and Ride/Attraction locations.
Accessibility information is available at guest relations.
Ride Swap Program - Guests with children not meeting height requirements may enjoy rides by
notifying the greeter at the ride of their situation. One adult will be allowed to ride while the second waits
with kid(s). On the following ride cycle, the adults will “swap” places. Due to the nature of high thrill rides,
guests will not be permitted to ride consecutively.
Re-Admission - If you leave and plan to return on the same day, you must retain your ticket for re-entry.
Wildlife On Park - During your visit you will see critters that call Silver Dollar City home (squirrels, birds,
bats, chipmunks and more). For your safety please do not touch or disturb them as they are still "wild"
animals.
Notice: Silver Dollar City crews may be filming/ recording/ photographing scenes on park. Please be
advised that your presence grants your authorization for the use of your image in media, advertising and
promotional materials. Thanks for your cooperation.
