The ticket was especially designed for visitors to Munich.
It is not only valid for public transportation in Munich,
the ticket also includes discounts of up to 50 percent on
numerous attractions like sights, city tours museums or
shopping. The Munich CityTourCard can be purchased
at any public transportation selling points and vending
machines, e.g. at the airport, as well as at the tourist
information center at Marienplatz and the main train
station. The CityTourCard includes a brochure introducing
selected partners, a map of downtown Munich and a

Alte Pinakothek (Old Gallery)
The Alte Pinakothek is one of the oldest and most significant
galleries in the world. On display are more than 800 paintings.
This superb and extensive collection allows visitors to explore
the advancements in painting from the Middle Ages up to the
end of the Rococo period. The collections on display in the
Alte Pinakothek date back to the dukes, electors and kings of
Bavaria from the House of Wittelsbach.

Neue Pinakothek (New Gallery)
The Neue Pinakothek was reopened in 1981 and replaced
the previous building that was destroyed in World War II.
It shows European art from the 19th century ranging from

Haus der Kunst
Located at the southern edge of the English Garden, the
impressive building is an example of Nazi design paying
homage to classical architecture. The museum’s highceilinged walls serve as the stage of changing exhibitions

well as painting, architecture and video art.

Pinakothek der Moderne (1) (Modern Gallery)
The Pinakothek der Moderne is Munich’s renowned museum
of 20th and 21st century art and design, which reopened after
a six-months renovation in September 2013. It combines
four independent institutions under one roof: the Modern
Art Collection of the Bavarian State Painting Collections,
the International Design Museum Munich, the Architecture
Museum of the Technical University Munich and the State
Graphics Collection Munich.

Glyptothek and State Collection of Antiquities (3)
The Glyptothek is Munich’s oldest Museum founded in 1830.
It is home to a fine collection of sculptures from the Greek and
Roman era. The museum is part of the Königsplatz complex,
which was arranged in the style of a forum, with the Glypto
thek on the north side and the State Collection of Antiquities
to the South. The latter hold one of the most distinguished
collections of Greek, Etruscan and Roman art like vases,
bronzes and terracotta objects plus glass and jewellery.

Museum Brandhorst (2)
The Brandhorst collection presents over 700 works from
seminal artists of the 20th and 21st century, like Cy Twombly,

Jewish Museum
The three buildings of the Jewish Museum form an outstanding architectural ensemble right in the heart of Munich
which offers 900 square meters of exhibition area on three
floors. The lower level hosts the permanent exhibition

State Museum of Egyptian Art (4)
The newly opened State Museum of Egyptian Art displays 7,000
years of Egyptian history. The museum offers art from all ages
of old Egypt, showing the development of art from prehistoric,

Lenbachhaus (5)
The Munich art museum Lenbachhaus reopened in May 2013
after a four-year renovation period. The first exhibition in
the refurbished Lenbachhaus presents the world’s largest
permanent collection of Blue Rider works of Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele Münter, Franz Marc, August Macke and Paul
Klee. Other highlights in the collection include 19th century
paintings from Munich artists as well as international

This famous traditional beer garden in the heart of Munich
has a capacity for up to 1,000 guests. People can enjoy

Hofbräuhaus (6)
The Hofbräuhaus was founded in 1589 and is probably the
most famous beer hall in the world. With an overall capacity
of 3,500 seats, daily live music on three floors and its
unique atmosphere, it is a must-see for visitors as well as
for locals. In the adjoining beer garden which is surrounded
by the historical walls of the Hofbräuhaus, people can
escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The beer garden
offers room for nearly 400 guests. Enjoy the Bavarian

The VAT rate in Germany is 19 % for
regular goods and 7 % for some
goods like food or books. It is

Terminal 1
Terminal 1 was opened in 1992 and hosts all non-Star
Alliance airlines. With very short distances, Terminal 1 is
mostly tailor-made for the needs of point-to-point traffic.
The terminal is built in a modular way, with 5 modules
(A – E), each having its own check-in, passport and security
control.
Terminal 2 (2)
Terminal 2 was opened in 2003 and hosts all Star Alliance
members and Lufthansa partners. The terminal has become
one of Europe’s fastest and most efficient terminals for
connecting passengers with a minimum connecting time of
only 30 minutes. This can be attributed to the terminal’s clear
and user-friendly structure as well as to the Hub Operation
Center. The HOC is Terminal 2’s command center for maximizing connectivity. Unlike Terminal 1, this terminal has a
central check-in area as well as one central security control.

Terminal 2 satellite (3)
In September 2013, Munich Airport celebrated the topping-out ceremony of the Terminal 2 satellite facility. The
facility will be the first midfield terminal to go into operation
at a German airport. Designed like an island on the apron,
it permits aircrafts to dock on both sides of the building.
Without any landside transportation links, the satellite will
not be a standalone terminal but rather a functional
element of Terminal 2. Construction work on the satellite
is planned for completion in 2015.

Terminal Direct Service+
The »Terminal Direct Service+« enables passengers,
arriving with short connecting times or even on delayed
flights, to catch their connecting flights by using a dedicated transport service team. Airport staff picks up the passengers right at the plane and escorts them efficiently
through passport and customs control to their connecting
flights. The service is available for all airlines operating in
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In case of an unforeseen delay,
the service will be requested by the airline automatically.

roadways and railway tracks are yours
to choose from. There are bus-shuttle
services to the city center and the fast
and reliable city railroad (S-Bahn) that
brings you to downtown Munich in only
35 minutes. Or, what about a rental car
or a coach to wherever you want to go?
Munich Airport offers a variety of locations for small, medium and even mega
events. Up to 3,000 people can be hosted for your events, presentations,
conferences or anniversaries. One of the event areas at Munich Airport is
Europe’s largest outdoor covered venue - the München Airport Center Forum.
Located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, the MAC Forum is the perfect
location for special events. Throughout the year, the MAC hosts a variety of
different events bringing fun and action to both, passengers and locals alike.

Why not take the bus?
For passengers who want to travel to
Munich with a high standard of service,
the Lufthansa Airport Bus is the right
choice. It departs every 20 minutes
between 6.25 am and 10.25 pm, from
Munich Airport to the Munich Central
Train Station. The bus departs from
Terminal 2, the Central Area and
Terminal 1/A. Of course this service
is available for all passengers.
The one-way fare is approximately
€ 10.50 for adults, € 5.50 for children.

The Wies Church (3)
The Wies Church, located in Steingaden in Upper Bavaria, is
one of the loveliest Rococo buildings worldwide. On June 14,
1738, a farmer’s wife, Maria Loy, saw tears on a dilapidated
wooden figure of the scourged savior. This miracle led to a
pilgrim rush to see the sculpture. In 1740, a chapel was built
to the statue. Nowadays, the Wies Church is a famous place
for pilgrims and belongs to the UNESCO World Culture
Heritage.

Oberammergau in the Ammergau Alps
Oberammergau is permanently linked with the Passion Play.
The roots of the Passion Play date back to a vow made by the
citizens of Oberammergau in 1633. The Passion Play, which
they have been performing at 10-year intervals since 1634,

Located in extraordinary surroundings, at foot of the Royal
Castles Hohenschwangau und Neuschwanstein, the former
Grandhotel Alpenrose houses the »Museum der bayerischen
Könige« (Museum of the Bavarian kings) since 2011. The
exhibition illustrates the history of the House of Wittelsbach

Oberstdorf (3)
Germany’s southernmost village is an extraordinary hiking
destination. Not only is Oberstdorf one of the largest and

Harburg Castle
The Harburg Castle on the Romantic Road is one of the oldest,
largest and best preserved castles in Southern Germany. The
Castle was first mentioned in 1150. At that time, Harburg was

Ice cave Werfen (2)
Welcome to the world‘s largest ice cave. In 1879, Anton
Posselt, a natural scientist from Salzburg, pushed 200 meters
