IUPUI FINANCIAL AID UPDATE
IUPUI FINANCIAL AID UPDATE Marvin Smith Director of Student Financial Services Student Financial Services Overview • The IUPUI Office of Student Financial Services understands how important finances are to the success of our students. We demonstrate our commitment to IUPUI student success through our awarding of need-based and meritbased financial aid programs. • We also are committed to financial education programming at orientation, via online learning modules, and in the classroom. We offer students and families several financial success planning tools and resources and promote a message of graduating from IUPUI as quickly as possible with as little debt as possible. • We know financial aid and billing processes can be confusing. Our goal is to make a complicated process a little easier as we help students pursue an IUPUI degree. • IUPUI offers lower tuition and fees than many four year colleges in Indiana. • IUPUI offers over 225 undergraduate and graduate degree programs from two world-class institutions in one centrally located, dynamic campus. • The economic strength of Indianapolis provides countless local career development opportunities • We are committed to helping IUPUI students along the journey to financial freedom. Students and parents should not hesitate to contact our office if we can help in any way. 1 Student Financial Services Walk-in Counseling (Campus Center Suite 250) – Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Telephone: (317) 274-4162 Email us at [email protected] Website: www.iupui.edu/finaid LIKE us! facebook.com/iupuiOSFS FOLLOW us! twitter.com/iupuiOSFS WATCH us! www.iupui.edu/finaid/tutorials IUPUI Financial Aid, Costs, and Value: An Interactive Webinar Answering Your Common Questions Thursday, March 24 at Noon ET or 6:00 PM ET www.iupui.edu/finaid Financial Aid/Financial Education @ Orientation Critical To Student Success Financial Success Planning Orientation Agenda: • • • • • Presenters and peer counselors Financial aid business process review Learn about estimated costs Learn about financial resource strategies Learn about money management & financial responsibility Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) • Submit the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov • Collects demographic and financial information about the student and family. • Available in English and Spanish. • Must be filed by March 10 to meet State of Indiana deadline • FREE – do not pay to file.
