The German Shepherd Rescue of New England’s Auction is one of the major fundraisers for our
rescue. Through your support today, we’ll be able to help many GSDs this coming year to find
new loving homes. We can’t do it without you!
The generosity of the GSRNE membership and friends has brought a wonderful assortment of
items to the auction table. This year, Lauralee Davis will once again thrill us with her talent and
humor as auctioneer so that all of these wonderful items are sold-- hopefully at over-bid prices!!

GSRNE MADE A DIFFERENCE TO THESE TWO ALONG WITH HUNDREDS OF OTHERS
Campy was a stray that was found running
on a city street. He came in thin, scared and
sore. It took some time to find the right foster
home for him and his boarding was expensive.
He’s now settled into a foster home and is
working on some behavior issues. Campy is
improving every day.
Lexi had a broken leg that was beginning to
heal when we first met her. The surgery to
correct it was $3500 and the shelter couldn’t
afford to have it fixed. GSRNE took her in,
had the surgery, and her foster mom did
swim therapy with her. Lexi is now in her
forever home where she loves to run & play.
A Guide to the Auction
Live Auction- The Live Auction will begin at noon. Please come earlier so you can sign-in,
review all the auction items on display, start to bid on Silent Auctions items, purchase GSD
items at the Sales table and purchase refreshments, too.
Silent Auctions- Certain tables are designated for Silent Auction items. Visit these tables soon
after your arrival and place your bids early. You can bid any time right up until the end. All bids
must be in whole dollar amounts (no cents).
The Silent Yellow auction will end first, about 1/3 of the way through the Live auction. Place
bids as soon as you arrive! Please print clearly so we can be sure to get the correct winning
paddle number. Please leave the yellow sheet on the table when picking up your items.
The Silent Blue auction will end about 2/3 of the way through the Live auction. Please don’t
leave before it is over if you’re the high bidder on an item. Please leave the blue sheet on the
table when picking up your items.
Remember to check the tables often to adjust your bids as necessary to remain high bidder!
Announcements will be made shortly before each Silent Auction lot is closed and we will take a
short break to allow for those last minute bids. Check that your bid is still the high bid and raise
it if it is not. Once the bid sheets are pulled the high bid on record wins! Please print clearly.
Sales Table- This table is provided to assure that absolutely everyone has the opportunity to go
home with something and thereby do their part to support the objective of the day--to raise as
much money as possible for the dogs (and to have fun, of course!)
Bake Sales/Food Table- This year we are providing sandwiches for your enjoyment and will
again be selling bake sale goods for you to eat here or bring home.
Paying For Your Purchases-Running tabs for each bidder will be maintained throughout the
Auction. At the end of the Auction, bidders will bring their bidding paddles to the Bid Recorders
who will tally up each person’s bill. Bidders can then pay by cash, check or credit cards.
All merchandise must be taken with you at the end of the auction.

Titan came in as an 8 week old puppy with a host of health issues. His jaw formation and teeth are a little off, likely
caused by an early injury, but you can barely notice. He has juvenile cataracts which do not require surgery at this
time, and had bladder infections that GSRNE fixed. Titan has been diagnosed with mild to moderate hip dysplasia
though it doesn’t stop him from romping and playing in the yard. Before he was neutered, he had cardiac testing
done and we found that he has some arrhythmia so he won’t be running any marathons. But if you are looking for
the sweetest, most easy going companion that just wants to hang out with you, Titan is your boy.

year and a half living in a crate,
Shayne found her way into our
rescue and was adopted by a
GSRNE member, Craig, and his
male German Shepherd, Danilo.
Instead of being crated and
alone, Shayne got used to going

for walks outside. Life was

February; and Shayne and

Primal Pet Foods
It is with great sorrow that GSRNE is sharing the Feb 5th passing of Paul Kelly, who was
GSRNE's treasurer for many years and a good friend to many of us. Paul had to resign as
treasurer in 2013 due to health issues, but we'll always be grateful for his years of service
and friendship. Very sad news.
The world lost a wonderful, kind-hearted man, who loved Shepherds and who gave so much of
his life to help them. We loved you, Paul.
About GSRNE
German Shepherd Rescue of New England, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer charitable organization. Since its founding in
mid-1996, GSRNE has provided veterinary care, and adoptive homes for hundreds of GSDs in need. The dogs were
abandoned, mistreated, neglected, or left in local pounds to await uncertain fate. Adoption services have also been provided for
GSDs who have been in acute need of placement due to changing family dynamics.
We are hoping that this annual GSRNE Auction will continue to grow towards becoming the organization’s principal
fundraising venture. Your support of the Auction, through donations, advertisements and energetic bidding, helps to ensure
that we will be able to continue to help German Shepherd Dogs in need.
GSRNE’s membership dues are $20.00 a year for an individual or $25.00 for families and include an exclusive GSRNE

message board filled with valuable information regarding our beloved dogs, a personal invitation to our annual GSRNE

German Shepherd Rescue of New England, Inc. (GSRNE) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3)
charitable organization dedicated to providing veterinary care, evaluation & adoptive homes for
the countless numbers of German Shepherd Dogs who are left in pounds to await uncertain fate,
are owner surrenders (divorce, death, etc.), or are from abuse or neglect situations. We help
provide a safe harbor for German Shepherds that might otherwise be destroyed.
Each dog applying to our program is evaluated for temperament and behavioral information.
All accepted dogs are spayed or neutered, updated on vaccinations, and receive essential medical
care. Then the dogs are placed into GSRNE foster homes, while they await new homes. Finally,
each dog is carefully placed in a loving home with a family that matches that dog's temperament,
activity level and needs.
