Long Beach Transit takes you practically anywhere you want to go in Long Beach any day of the week. Bus stops are located nearly every two blocks for your convenience. Best of all, with a regular fare of only $1.25 and even less for seniors and passengers with disabilities, there's no better way to stretch your budget. Inside are complete maps and schedules for all Long Beach Transit routes, plus lots of helpful information to make riding the bus as easy as possible. As you use these schedules, it is good to remember that heavy traffic, passenger loads, adverse weather or other factors may prevent buses from running on time. We recommend that you allow extra travel time. We Can Help Plan Your Trip Our friendly transit advisors are standing by to help you plan your trip. We'll be happy to give you schedule and route information and tell you exactly where the bus stops in your neighborhood. The customer service phone lines are open 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Call (562) 591-2301 for prompt help. If you would like a Transit Guide mailed to you, just let us know when you call. For group travel, please call our Field Trip Coordinator. How To Ride the Bus Signs on the top front of the bus above the windshield tell you the route number, the major streets the bus runs on, and the final destination of the bus. Read these signs to be sure you board the right bus. If you're not sure, just ask the driver. It’s a good idea to make note of the vehicle number of the bus– it’s the painted 4-digit number on the outside and inside. That number may come in handy if you need to report something about your trip. Enter the bus through the front door. Please be sure to have the exact fare ready as you board. Our drivers do not carry change. If you need to transfer to another bus system to complete your one-way trip, please buy an interagency transfer when you pay your fare. Our fare boxes accept coins and dollar bills; but like the drivers, they don't make change! All sales at the farebox are final. Please check your pass/transfer before being seated. After you put your coins into the farebox, hold onto the handrails as you find a seat, as the bus may begin to move before you sit down. If you are disabled or a senior and need extra time boarding the bus, be sure to let the driver know. Remain seated and please do not change seats while the bus is in motion. Then, as the bus approaches your stop, signal the driver that you want off by pulling the cord, or pressing the yellow strips along the side of the bus next to the window. Please give the driver enough notice so that he may make a smooth stop. Please remain in your seat or hold the handrail until bus comes to a complete stop. If you loaded your bike, be sure to tell the driver that you are getting your bike, before you get off the bus. When getting off the bus, please exit through the rear door. Just push the yellow strip on the door and hold the doors open. Carefully step off the bus onto the sidewalk. Be careful – the doors close automatically! 4 About Riding the Bus Route FIRST STREET TRANSIT GALLERY METRO STATION E F LBT’s Transit & Visitor Information Center H G 1ST ST LONG BEACH BLVD Bus stops A B C PROMENADE Route 1........................................D 21,22,23............................H 46......................................
