YEAR
2015 marked fresh growth in Decathlon’s turnover, both in France
– as confirmed by a successful 2014 – and internationally, with the
company establishing operations in two new countries. Various
projects and initiatives are planned for 2016, so that Decathlon’s
40th anniversary year delivers further progress and improvement.

EXPANSION
In 2015, Decathlon and all of its activities totalled €9.1 billion in
turnover (excl. tax), representing a 12% increase (10.6% in 2014). On
a comparable basis, Decathlon store growth stood at 5% (6% in 2014).
In 2015, Decathlon opened 140 new retail outlets (compared with 103 in
2014). With its first ever stores in Slovakia and Thailand, the company
now operates in 29 countries, with a total of 1,030 retail outlets.

The Kipsta brand
forays into a new field
Located at the crossroads of Roubaix, Tourcoing
and Wattrelos, the Kipstadium has been
providing sports enthusiasts from metropolitan
Lille with a range of services since Spring 2015.
Significant facts
With a surface area of 2,000m²,
Slovakia’s first store opened its
doors on 10 April in Bratislava.
Two other stores were launched a
few weeks later, including a second
one in the capital and another in the
city of Košice (south-east).

In Thailand, no fewer than five new
stores have opened their doors in the
capital since 22 October.
Located in several different areas of
Bangkok, including the city centre,
their sizes vary from 1,700m² to
2,700m². They are unique in that
they exclusively sell Decathlon brand
products.

The site is also home to 80 team sport brand
employees, as well as a 900m² store.
Serving as a user observation point and
innovation hub for team sports, the Kipstadium
is one of the first sites to help regenerate the
former industrial wasteland in the Union district.
