Happy Anniversary Bud & Esther Goedken May your marriage continue to be filled with love, joy and companionship. God Bless you both! ~The Meadows tenants & staff CINCO DE MAYO Cinco De Mayo is Spanish for the 5th of May. Cinco De Mayo commemorates the Mexican Army’s defeat of the French forces on May 5, 1862, in the Battle of Puebla. Celebrate with us by wearing your bright colorful clothing, and/or sombreros if you have them. At our noon meal, we will enjoy chips, salsa & guacamole dip paired with margaritas or Mexican beer. RIGHT: Our first crop has been planted! We seized a fairly warm sunny Saturday to plant our two raised garden beds. The group planted radishes and onions! The gardens have been carefully maintained and watered. We’re anticipating our fresh harvest in May! ABOVE & RIGHT: After a post-ponement due to high winds, we were finally able to make a visit to the FarmTek green houses. Our tour guide, Gabe led us through their hydroponic, aquaponic and aeroponic green houses. It was an intriguing, informational and fun afternoon for all! LEFT: We started the humor month of April, with a mis -matched day of fun! That same afternoon, we played backwards Bingo (OGNIB)! During the entire month we posted a “Joke of Day” in the morning. The answers to the joke were read during the lunch hour. Laughter brings joy to all and we shared a lot of both in April! 1. Raisin - White - Rye 2. Eiffel - Water - Watch 3.
