So true is this saying and it still amazes me how many
people in this world have NO clue what this means and
the reason people have No clue is they were never
taught to be aggressive on the job. What I’m referring
to here is to approach work in the aggressive manner
of doing the Best to your ability and always give 110%
at whatever you do, pay attention to your surroundings
and never wait to be told to do something that you are
sure needs to be done and if your not sure, always ask
someone who knows the answer or has the authority to
make a decision. I chose to be aggressive in building
this Magazine and knew going in that to build something
like this will take every hour of the day and that it would
be more of a life style than a job. Enjoying what you do
to earn a living or pay the bills, makes it a lot easier to
motivate yourself and motivating ones self is what most
people can’t do.
No one tells me when to start or end My day and I
haven’t needed a Boss, Manager or Supervisor in many
years(even before I bought this Magazine ) to motivate
Me nor check on my progress for the day. This is My
Life and I hope to continue producing this Magazine until
I leave this world and with the help of our Advertisers,
who We Appreciate very much, I intend to be around for
a long time. Support Our Advertisers and I refer to them
as Our Advertisers, because they are mine and yours
because you are a reader of Thunder Roads Magazine
Georgia. Have a Great Month,
Ride Safe – Ride Often – Ride Free

Remember
Through Prayer
“Nearing Retirement”
During a company planning meeting, the
president asked the personnel director,
“How many employees do we have that are
approaching retirement?”All of them, sir” was
the reply. Life on earth is fleeting. We look back
on years past and recall doing the same things
that children do today-playing favorite games
and enjoying special events. Suddenly we find
ourselves grown and aging, facing the same
problems and issues that all elderly people do.
In what seems like a passing moment, the gray
hair begins, wrinkles develop almost overnight
and erase the smooth skin of youth. We get
closer to eternity with every beat of our hearts.
As someone inscribed on their tombstone, “I
expected this, but not quite so soon”. God has
made it possible for us to live with Him forever in
eternity, through His son Jesus Christ!
Prayer for the month:
Dear Lord, we can be assured of an eternal home
in heaven with you because of trusting in your
son, Jesus. Help us to trust you in life with all our
needs and problems. Guide us daily as we look
to you. amen

Protest Anti Biker
Decision in LaGrange, GA
Let’s be seen and heard on May 12th as we protest the decision to NOT allow “Bikers on Main” to continue with their
venue on Main Street in Lagrange GA.
The Downtown LaGrange Development Authority Executive
Director persuaded the city officials to not close Main street for
this annual one day event, citing complaints from a hand full of
merchants.
Bikers on Main has been growing every year since its start in
2008 and now due to the narrow minded decision and poor judgment of a very few the event will no longer be held in LaGrange.
Motorcycle Riders are requested to fill every parking spot in
the downtown area with 1 motorcycle for all 1100 spaces starting with Main street, Bull street then the parking garage and off
street lots.
You should start arriving around 2 PM. We may need to move
the bikes from space to space once if they decide to enforce
the parking ordinance. After 4 pm the bikes will be good where
they are. We will then flex our financial muscle by supporting
those businesses that are identified as “ Biker Friendly” and
disrupting business for those that are not by filling all the parking spaces.
Please consider donating 5 bucks to the Wounded Warrior
Program. “Bikers on Main” will not happen this June and
WW would have been the Benefactor of the event.
Donation buckets will be made available
Atlanta Braves
Bike Day
ABATE of Georgia will be Recognized during Biker day at
the Atlanta Braves vs Toronto Blue Jays game on June 10th.
We will be recognized on the LED lights over each Dugout
and during the announcement. We will have the honor
of leading the Motorcycles as they lap the field before the
game.
A special Biker package is available that includes VIP
Parking in the Blue lot, an outfield Pavilion ticket and the
opportunity to ride around the field. [limited to the first 300 to
register]
ABATE Members will be grouped together in the VIP Parking
area. Note the cutoff date of June 4th.
This will be a great chance for public recognition
and to promote the ABATE of Georgia
Organization.
Let’s all make an effort to be there.
Go to www. braves.com/biker to
purchase tickets on line or use the
order form and call or fax your order
in. Please note the name ABATE if
faxed or when you call.

FEDERAL HIGHWAY BILL PROGRESSES
The U.S. Senate has approved its version of a federal highway
appropriations measure (S.1813, “Moving Ahead for Progress
in the 21st Century” or MAP-21) by a vote of 74-22 on March
14, and the $109 billion highway bill includes motorcycle safety
funding for states and would bar federal funds from being used
to conduct motorcycle-only checkpoints.
The measure now goes to the House of Representatives
for further action, where a similar measure is also being
considered (H.R. 7, the “American Energy and Infrastructure
Jobs Act of 2012”).
BIKER ANTI-DISCRIMINATION BILL HEARD IN COLORADO
Colorado legislation to ban discrimination against people
wearing motorcyclist gear failed to pass its first committee
hearing, but the bill’s sponsor told the AP that he was glad he
proposed the bill because it raised awareness. He said bikers
are unfairly judged to be criminals.
State Rep. Joe Miklosi (D-Denver) says he didn’t propose the
measure to get attention but to help constituents who belong
to motorcycle clubs and say they are being singled out unfairly.
“I’m motivated by doing the right thing,” Miklosi said. “They’re
being discriminated against.”
Bikers say they’re unfairly refused service at hotels, restaurants
and stores because of how they dress, and Miklosi’s bill (HB1128) would have banned businesses from discriminating against
motorcyclists based on their style of dress.
Both bills contain motorcycle safety program funding and both

signed into law on Feb. 28 by Governor Bob McDonnell.
Most recently, New Jersey introduced companion bills in
the Senate (S-1685) and the Assembly (A-508) to prohibit
police from establishing checkpoints limited to certain types
of vehicles and would require that all checkpoints include all
types of vehicles.
Calling motorcycle-only checkpoints discriminatory and
unconstitutional, ABATE of California is likewise pushing a bill
(AB-1047) that would ban state and federal funding of biker
barricades. According to ABATE Lobbyist Jim Lombardo, “We
passed out of the Assembly and are awaiting a hearing in the
Senate Transportation Committee, probably next month, and
then on to Governor Brown.”
Meanwhile on the legal front, New York A.I.M. (Aid to Injured
Motorcyclists) Attorney Mitch Proner told the Associated Press
that he is preparing to appeal a federal court decision upholding
the constitutionality of motorcycle roadblocks in N.Y., and the
issue may eventually be heard before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Senator Alice Nitka (D-Windsor) wasn’t so sure that the aging
vets of the motorcycle club back in Windsor are a menace to
society and warrant being “lumped in” with street gangs like
“the Bloods and the Crips,” reported vtdigger.org.
If all it takes for a “gang” to make the list is for a few members
of a group to commit a crime, Senator Jeanette White
(D-Windham) asked, “…will the Boys and Girls Club be next?”
MINNESOTA ROAD GUARDING BILLS ADVANCE
Two companion bills to allow trained and certified motorcyclists
to road guard during motorcycle runs (SF1719 and HF2008)
were approved by the Minnesota Senate and House
Transportation Committees, respectively.
Mack Backlund, State Coordinator for ABATE of Minnesota,
testified in favor before both committees and answered questions
from the committee members. While there were questions and
concerns brought up during discussion, in the end both bills

stricter emissions could be enforced by 2016.
The legislation creates a motorcycle road guard certificate
under which a person can stop and hold traffic during a
motorcycle group ride: “Permits holders of a motorcycle road
guard certificate who are acting as a flagger for a motorcycle
ride to stop and hold traffic, and override traffic control devices
to direct motorcycle operators or other vehicles. Requires
drivers to remain stopped until directed to proceed.”
“The proposed EU Regulation on Type Approval and Market
Surveillance of two and three-wheeled vehicles passed its first
reading, Committee stage, on 5th December even though an
impact assessment on many elements of the proposal was
ongoing,” writes MAG-UK (Motorcycle Action Group), “and the
Delegated Acts appear to have moved well outside the scope
of the Commission’s original proposal.”
“This language has a long way to go in the process before
becoming law, but passage in the Senate and House
Transportation Committees is a great start,” said Backlund.

WEIRD NEWS: FEELING THE WIND IN YOUR EAR
Today’s phones can deliver the sound of a heartbeat, but soon
you’ll actually feel the throbbing.
At the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las
Vegas, Artificial Muscle Inc. demonstrated how it can make
mobile devices shake and rattle with great realism, employing
a technology that uses plastics that function like muscles,
allowing you to feel the rumble of a Harley or the reverberation
of a shotgun blast.
The company showed off an iPhone it had modified by placing
one of its Vivitouch “motors” inside that shook a modified Xbox
controller to allow the user to feel what it’s like to hold a beating
heart. In another instance, it let the user experience the signature
rumble of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle starting up.
CHOPPERS FACE EURO-SION OF RIGHTS
They’re long and lean, and Europe is looking to ban them.
Custom motorcycles are coming under fire across the pond,
according to Motorcycles.about.com. Along with proposals
to limit motorcycle emissions, force anti-lock brake systems
on all bikes, and prohibit engine tuning for increased power;
European Parliament is considering a ban on extended
forks. The issue will be voted on in April and the limits on
modifications could take effect by 2014; ABS rulings and
Registration fees for the NCOM Convention are $80 including the

QUOTABLE QUOTE: “The ultimate result of shielding men
from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools.”
~ Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
Thunder Roads Magazine 23
A Pastor’s wife was expecting a baby, so he stood before
the congregation and asked for a raise. After much discussion, they passed a rule that whenever the Pastor’s
family expanded; so would his paycheck.
After 6 children, this started to get expensive and the
congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss
the Pastor’s expanding family and salary.
A great deal of yelling and inner bickering ensued, as to
how much the Pastor’s additional children were costing the church, and how much more it could potentially
cost.
After listening to them for about an hour, the Pastor rose
from his chair and spoke, “Children are a gift from God,
and we will take as many gifts as He gives us.”
Silence fell over the congregation. In the back pew, a
little old lady struggled to stand, and finally said in her
frail voice,
“Rain is also a gift from God, but when we get too much
of it, we wear rubbers.”
A woman was at her hairdresser’s getting her regular
bouffant (totally 70’s) hair style for a trip to Rome
with her husband.. She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded:” Rome ? Why would anyone
want to go there? It’s crowded and dirty. You’re crazy to
go to Rome . So, how are you getting there?”
“We’re taking Continental,” was the reply. “We got a special rate!” “Continental?” exclaimed the hairdresser;
that’s an “iffy” airline. Their planes are old, their flight
attendants are ancient and slow, and they’re always late.
So, where are you staying in Rome?”. “We’ll be at this
exclusive little place over on Rome‘s Tiber River called
Teste.” “Don’t go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks it’s going to be something special and
exclusive, but in all actuality, it’s a dump.”
“We’re also going to go to see the Vatican and maybe
get to see the Pope.” “That’s rich,” laughed the hairdresser. You and a million other people trying to see him.
He’ll look the size of an ant. “Boy, good luck on this lousy
sounding trip of yours. You’re going to need it.”
A month later, the woman again came in for a hair appointment. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to
Rome, in a very sarcastic manner. “It was magical,” explained the woman, “not only were we on time in one of
Continental’s brand new planes, but it was overbooked,
and they bumped us up to First Class. The food and wine
were 4-star quality and I had a handsome 27-year-old
Steward who waited on me hand and foot….literally, he
gave me a foot massage. And the hotel was exquisite!
They’d just finished a $5 million renovation project,
and now it’s a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They,
too were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us
their Owner’s personal suite at no extra charge!” “Well,”
muttered the hairdresser, “that’s all well and good, but I
know as a fact you didn’t get to see the Pope.”
“Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured
the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder
and explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the
visitors, in person, and if we’d be so kind as to step into
his private room and wait, the Pope would personally
greet us both. Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope
walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt
down and he spoke a few words to me..” “Oh, really!
And just what exactly did the Pope say to you?”
He said: “My goodness woman, who screwed up your
hair so badly?”
In a Kentucky church one Sunday morning, a preacher
said, “Anyone with ‘special needs’ who wants to be
prayed over, please come forward to the front by the
altar.” With that, Bubba got in line. “Bubba, what do you
want me to pray about for you?”, asked the Preacher.
“Preacher, I need you to pray for help with my hearing.”
The Preacher put his hand on Bubba’s head and the entire congregation joined in prayer. After a few minutes,
the Preacher removed his hands, stood back and asked,
“Bubba, how is your hearing now?” Bubba answered, “I
don’t rightly know. The hearing aint till Thursday.”
For several years, a man was having an affair with a
gorgeous, young Italian woman.
To avoid a costly divorce and protect his business reputation, they agreed she would move to Italy.
To keep it discrete, he told her to simply mail him a
postcard, and write ‘Spaghetti’ on the back. He would
then arrange for the child support payments to begin
and he would visit as often as possible.
About 8 months later, he came home to his confused
wife. ‘Honey, ‘she said, ‘You received very strange postcard today.’ He took the postcard and as he read, his
wife watched him turn white as a ghost and faint. The
card read: ‘Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti,
Spaghetti. Three, with meatballs, two without.

An older guy with a pot-belly was working out in the
gym when he spotted this sweet young, well-built
woman.
He immediately asked a trainer that was near-by,
“What machine should I use to impress that “sweet
thang” over there?”
The trainer looked him up and down, and dryly replied,
“The ATM machine in the lobby.”
A waitress is explaining to a New York guest in a small
Tennessee diner that the special of the day is calf
tongue in beautiful moonshine sauce. The guest shakes
his head and says, “I don’t want anything that comes
from an animal’s mouth; just give me some eggs.”

GRILLED PEANUT BUTTER &
MARSHMALLOW MELT
2 Thick Slices of Either Sour Dough Bread, Potato
Bread or French Bread
Quality Brand of Peanut Butter; smooth or w/ nuts
Quality Brand of Marshmallow Creme
A cast iron skillet works best when grilling any sandwich.Take real butter and spread generously and
thoroughly both sides of each side of slices. Turn
onto counter and then spread really generously one
side with marshmallow creme and the other with
quality peanut butter. Slap together and you may
need to scrape some butter off of counter and re-apply to outer sides. Your skillet should be hot, but only
medium hot. But it should definitely be heating up
while you’re preparing skillet because you want that
sizzle when you put sandwich down. Throw in a pat
of butter to coat the bottom of skillet evenly. Gently
place sandwich in and DO NOT
TOUCH IT. This is essential. If you push or tug at it
you’re just tearing the bread and ruining that golden
brown caramelizing that occurs. So, just let it go and
keep watch on it......after about 2 minutes, gently lift
a corner with a spatula and if it all appears to be a
gorgeous golden brown, then hold the sandwich up
in the air on spatula, take your other hand and add
another pat of butter, let it melt outwards, then flip
the sandwich over and in the pan to grill the other
side.Take it out of pan, place on a plate and just
let cool for 1 full minute before cutting as it lets the
sandwich “rest”, just as meat needs to and all the
juices blend together beautifully. OMG! I was making
this sandwich when I was 7 years old, by myself, and
it was and always will be one of my Top 5 Yummies.
*Note: If you don’t use a cast iron pan, then you’ll
probably need a weight while grilling. Just use a really heavy lid that is apprx. the size of your sandwich.
Something like a porcelain coated cast iron lid or,
like .R.R. does; wrap a brick in aluminum foil. As with
anything else in life, whatever it takes to make it all
come together makes the end result even better.
REALLY SIMPLE & FAST CHILI
CONQUESO DIP
1 Bottle of Walmart’s Brand of Conqueso Cheese (found by the chips aisle)
1 Can of No-Bean Chili
1 Can of Ro-Tel (brand name) Original Style
Canned Tomatoes With Green Chilies *These
can be found in any grocery store in the USA
(Be sure & drain off liquid)
1/2 Bottle of Chopped Pimentos
Mix all together in a ceramic or glass bowl; cover
with Glad Press N’ Seal (leave small corner pulled
back slightly to vent)
Nuke for apprx. 3 minutes and stir well when
done. Eat w/ your fave chips. Our preference is
those super crispy Tostido’s Scoops. Olay!
CARROT CAKE CUPCAKES WITH
BUTTER CREAM FROSTING
1 Pkg. of Betty Crocker’s Super Moist Carrot
Cake Mix
2 Tubs of Betty Crocker Buttercream Frosting
1/2 Cup of Dark Raisins
1/2 Cup of Chopped, Roasted Walnuts
1/2 Cup of Pure Pineapple Juice
Just prepare mix as directed, adding in the raisins,
walnuts and pineapple juice. Spray a pan with butter spray and medium-chop walnuts. Sprinkle them
really heavy with cinnamon. Place in preheated
350 degree oven. When pull from oven dump directly into mix, give it a little mix up and spoon mix
into muffin liners in a cupcake pan. The mix should
make apprx. 24 cupcakes.
I always remove the wrappers so it’s easier to just
dig in. Cool them completely on a wire rack and I
get 2 tubs of the Buttercream frosting because I am
excessive about frosting and let’s face it, if you’re
going to blow it out and make your own cupcakes,
then gorge on them, you might as well go all out.
Like Paula Deen says, everything in moderation.
I chose Sundays a long time ago and I don’t go
crazy, but Sunday is my day to eat my fave food
without the guilt. You have to reward yourself for
eating so damn goodie-goodie all week long. At
least, that’s how I justify it.
Happy Birthday to all you Aries RamHeads.

WHY EVERY BIKER NEEDS UM INSURANCE
In today’s economy, everyone is trying to stretch their dollar farther.
However, one corner you should never cut is the UM Insurance Coverage
on your motorcycle and family automobiles. Many folks don’t know what
UM Coverage is until they need it. So, what is it? UM stands for UnInsured/ UnderInsured Motorist Coverage and it provides you a way to be
financially compensated if you are in a collision caused by another driver
and that person does not have any auto insurance. UM also provides
coverage in the event of a collision caused by a another driver that does not
have enough insurance to fully compensate you for your medical bills, lost
wages, property damage or pain and suffering caused by the collision. The
State of Georgia requires every driver to carry a minimum of $25,000.00 in
automobile insurance coverage. Unfortunately, if one of us are injured in a
motorcycle wreck, then the medical bills may be substantially higher than
the at fault driver’s minimum coverage. Let’s use a common situation we
have all experienced. Imagine driving down a road when a car makes a left
turn across your path. If a collision occurs, then the biker could experience
injuries such as bone fractures, road rash, or even death. The medical bills
will cost far more than the $25,000 minimum coverage. This is where your
UM Coverage comes into play. It provides additional financial recovery for
you to compensate for medical bills, lost wages and damages that exceed the
at fault driver’s insurance coverage. Better yet, your UM Coverage travels
with you if you are injured in someone else’s vehicle. Think of it as a cloud of
protection that follows you and provides additional recovery if you are injured
by an uninsured or underinsured driver. Hopefully, you will never have to
deal with this complex legal situation after an accident. But, if you are in a
motorcycle or automobile collision, then please give me a call at 770-3824440 so we can meet and discuss your options.
