It’s a Wonderful Day,
When I wake up and can still get out of Bed.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years since I began on
this Journey, Owning and working this Magazine. I have
met and made a lifetime of Friends as I have covered
this State each month selling ads, delivering magazines,
covering Events and Rally’s. Every day is a different
adventure and I never know who, what or where this
journey will take me. I believe that is the main reason
I travel 6000 miles plus each month inside the State
and when You travel as much as I do You will meet a
lot of People and some very interesting, but I find that
the majority of People I meet are Good People with
Good Hearts as they are the ones who show up when
someone is in need of help in any way. The People who
look for a Ride or Run to participate in and be a part of
each weekend and while on these Rides and Runs we
are losing our Brothers and Sisters and most cases are
because of a Distracted Driver (cell phone talking and
texting and checking e-mail) and then we do another Ride
for the ones killed on the last Ride. Why are we not riding
to the Courthouse when the Rider or their Family goes
to court to see the driver of the cage who carelessly ran
over the Rider get a ticket for failing to yield or illegal turn
or just running over the Rider and the Rider was killed
or hospitalized for injuries sustained because someone
wasn’t paying Attention. The Fine should fit the Crime and
until we Stand Together and fight this injustice against
Motorcycle Riders we will be the victims and I realize
most who read this thinks someone else is going to
fight this Fight because they don’t have time to protect
their Rights. For some reason the District Attorneys and
Courts in Georgia are not aware of the Motorcycle Riders
being killed for no other reason than carelessness by
Automobile/Truck Drivers. These People need to lose
driving privileges to drive for life in some cases and shorter
time for other cases, instead their fined and drive home
while texting their friends the turnout in court. You need to
get involved and contact/visit your District Attorney’s office
and let them know you’re tired of these People being fined
and ask why the sentence is so lenient.
GET INVOLVED and Protect Your Rights, many have
died to give you those Rights..
Ride Safe – Ride Often – Ride Free

Remember
Through Prayer
“TRUE FRIENDS”
Proverbs 18:24 states, “A man that hath friends
must show himself friendly: and there is a friend
that stickiest closer than a brother”. Pictured in
this magazine is a true friend “Keith Taylor” we
have been friends since November of 1970. We
both have loved motorcycles since that time. He
is currently in Afghanistan and left his two HarleyDavidsons with me for a year to keep and ride.
How many true friends do you have? I am not
talking about “fair weather” friends but true friends.
Jesus Christ wants to be your best friend he is
one who will never forsake you. The bible says to
have friends you must be one!
Prayer for the month:
Dear Lord, thank you for always being ther for us.
Help us to be genuine and have true friends on
this earth. Bless our military their families and all
who defend our freedoms. Thank you that we can
always depend on you.

has drawn crowds from several states in

nothing but good for the economy in the

FIRST TIME
There comes that time in everyone’s
life when you encounter that first time.
It could be that first kiss, your first
motorcycle or perhaps that first time you
tried something different!
That is exactly what happened on the
First annual
“Jeannine Run for Epilepsy”
The Georgia Epilepsy foundation had never
tried a “Biker event” as a means to raise
funds.
Well! Surprise, surprise, to all that
attended and helped with this worthy
event. Never before has the E.F.G. raised so
much with so little effort.
About 125 riders left from Hartman
cycles and took a 90 mile ride through the
beautiful north Georgia Mountains. Their
final draw and some of the door prizes
were given at Bo docks bar. Here over 200
bikers continued to raise funds through
a bake sale and raffles. Then on to the
Custom Riders clubhouse for some live
music and final raffle.
There are way too many volunteers and
helpers for us to list with out leaving some
one out! Thank you to all it would not
have been possible with out your help.
Hartman Cycles and the Custom Riders
Motorcycle Club began this benefit to
honor the memory of “Jeannine Hartman,
an Angle taken too soon but
Never forgotten
All total this first time event raised almost
$6000.00 dollars. This entire amount will
go to help assist those that need it most
Thru the Georgia Epilepsy Foundation.
Next year let’s really nock their sox’s off.

The
Memorial Poker Run
At The Georgia Peach Festival
What a beautiful Day for a Ride to Remember a Man who is
missed by many in the Motorcycle Family. Paul Reehling, a Friend
and Brother to many, who lost His life one morning as He arrived
at work and as He was exiting His pickup truck, he dropped His
pistol and it discharged into His chest. A devastating accident that
took the Life of a Father, Husband and Friend to All. This Ride
was started and formed as a Memorial Ride and is an Annual
Event that all Riders are encouraged to attend to show their support for the Family of a Fellow Rider.

Megan Sabet
Bubba and Megan come together before Friends and Family
to be United as one and what a Great Day for a Wedding. The
weather was great and the background of High Falls State Park
for this setting was perfect. A Great Couple that I have grown
fond of the last few years as I get to see and visit with them
periodically at Events and Rally’s. Best Wishes to you both for
the Rest of Your Lives and may God Bless Your Family.

NCOM BIKER NEWSBYTES
Compiled & Edited by Bill Bish,
National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM)
CONGRESS TO CONSIDER MOTORCYCLE-ONLY
CHECKPOINTS
In Congressional action on the federal highway bill, a conference
committee has been named to consolidate the House-passed bill
H.R.4348 and Senate bill S.1813. Language to prohibit federal
funding of Motorcycle-Only Roadside Checkpoints is contained in
H.R.7, and riders are encouraged to contact their congressional
members to urge the conference committee to adopt that wording
into the final measure.
LEGAL BATTLE CONTINUES AGAINST MOTORCYCLE
ROADBLOCKS
Although the first round in the battle that the law firm of Proner
& Proner is waging on behalf of motorcyclists to prevent the
New York State Police and other agencies from conducting
motorcycle-only checkpoints was won by the police, A.I.M. (Aid
to Injured Motorcyclists) Attorney Mitchell Proner believes the
judge’s ruling overlooked the evidence that motorcyclists were
targeted for reasons other than safety.
The challenged checkpoints were set up in proximity to well
known motorcycle events. Motorcyclists traveling to those
events were forced off the roadway by the police, regardless
of any individualized suspicion, and compelled to undergo
inspections. Although the inspections were termed “safety”
inspections, the majority of tickets issued at the checkpoints
were for violations unrelated to safety and the prevention of
motorcycle accidents.
The attorneys of Proner and Proner are appealing the District
Court decision to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. On March
21, 2012, Mitch Proner filed a lengthy brief arguing that the
checkpoints clearly constitute an unreasonable search and
seizure under the Fourth Amendment. Oral argument will
probably take place this fall with a decision soon thereafter.
Proner has vowed to take the fight all the way to the Supreme
Court if necessary. As a rider himself and a trial lawyer, Proner
is intent on defending the rights of all riders who are being
unfairly targeted. “Our right to be free from unreasonable
seizures was a gift from our founding fathers which must be
defended regardless of personal cost.”
SENATOR KLOBUCHAR HONORED FOR PROTECTING
RIDERS’ RIGHTS
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar has been awarded
the Motorcycle Industry Council Chairman’s Award for her
invaluable efforts in stopping the ban on youth ATVs and dirt
bikes, and for saving the Recreational Trails Program.
For more than two years, the powersports industry was banned
from selling youth sized ATVs, motorcycles and snowmobiles,
inadvertently swept up in comprehensive legislation known
as the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act -- a law
intended to protect children from harmful lead content in toys.
“When our industry needed a champion, Senator Klobuchar
rose to the occasion, worked with her colleagues, and led the
effort to ensure that youth ATVs, motorcycles and snowmobiles
were excluded from the law,” said MIC chairman Larry Little.
Minnesota manufacturer Polaris hosted the award presentation
and the company’s president and CEO Bennett J. Morgan also
recognized Klobuchar for her work on a critical amendment
to the transportation reauthorization legislation known as the
Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act.
Klobuchar, a first-term democrat elected in 2006, also
introduced an amendment that sought to restore the
Recreational Trails Program, which benefits outdoor recreation
including snowmobiling, ATV riding, off-road motorcycling and
other off OHV use.
PENNSYLVANIA PROPOSAL WOULD MANDATE SAFETY
COURSES FOR YOUNG RIDERS
A bill aimed at increasing the safety of young motorcycle riders
has passed in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives
181-1 and is on its way to the Senate.
The legislation sponsored by Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover
Township) would require anyone seeking a Class M
(motorcycle) junior driver’s license to complete a free stateapproved 15-hour safety course. The course “gives younger
riders good fundamentals,” Grove said.
Anyone under 18 would have to take the course, which
highlights areas such as drinking and driving, defensive
driving, and proper motorcycle techniques.
“Experience counts when it comes to motorcycle safety,” Grove
said. “Operating a motorcycle is very different than driving a
car, and my goal is to increase the safety and awareness of
Pennsylvania’s young motorcyclists.”
Also under Grove’s bill, riders on a class M learner’s permit
and under the age of 18 must complete 65 hours of practical

driving and have held the learner’s permit for six months before
they can take the junior license exam.
Currently, riders have to pass a test in order to get a riders’
permit, which is valid for one year, and then pass a driving test
to get a motorcycle license.
A course, called the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program,
is optional but is not required. If a rider takes and passes the
course, they automatically receive a class M license.
DIXIE ABATE PROMOTES SAFETY & AWARENESS
Alabama riders gathered on April 28 for a police-escorted
high-profile ride to the state capitol at high noon to promote
May as Motorcycle Awareness Month; “This ride should give
us publicity to advertise to the driving public that they need to
work harder to be aware of us as we share the road with them
this season,” read an official statement from Dixie ABATE,
one of the newest members of the National Coalition of
Motorcyclists (NCOM).
“I want to emphasize to drivers of cars and trucks that GOOD
DRIVERS JUST DRIVE,” Vickie Rumble of Dixie ABATE
told WSFA-12 News. “Our goal is to completely eliminate
motorcycle crashes, whatever their cause.”
After the rally, Harley-Davidson of Montgomery graciously
offered riders a complimentary lunch, and the Barber
Motorsports Museum in Birmingham offered them discounted
admissions.
Dixie ABATE petitioned the NCOM Board of Directors for
membership and was approved unanimously during the recent
NCOM Convention in Indianapolis over Mothers Day weekend.
NCOM proudly welcomes Dixie ABATE as our newest NCOM
Member Group, joining in unity with more than 2,000 other
rider groups, clubs and organizations; including Motorcycle
Rights Organizations (MROs) from nearly 40 States, and 57
Confederations of Clubs from 36 States and three Canadian
Provinces.
WEIRD NEWS: MAN SUES BMW FOR
GIVING HIM A HARD TIME
While an extended state of arousal after a motorcycle ride
might sound like typical rhetoric of the two wheel crowd, one
man is now suing BMW Motorrad USA and the maker of
an aftermarket seat after a motorcycle ride left him with an
erection that wouldn’t go away.
The California man is claiming that a BMW motorcycle and
a dealer installed custom seat are responsible for causing
priapism -- which thanks to TV advertisements for erectile
dysfunction we now know is an erection lasting four hours or
longer.
According to an excerpt from the complaint; “Plaintiff was riding
his 1993 BMW motorcycle equipped with a Corbin-Pacific seat.
The ride lasted approximately two hours each way to plaintiff’s
destination, after which plaintiff developed a severe case of
priapism. Plaintiff alleges that this condition was caused by
the ridge-like seat on his motorcycle, negligently designed,
manufactured and/or installed by defendants.”
The suit filed in the Superior Court of San Francisco County
seeks damages for lost wages, personal injury, medical
expenses, product liability, and negligent infliction of emotional
distress.

DADDY’S FAVORITE....CREME BRULEE
FRENCH TOAST
1/2 Stick Unsalted Butter
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
2 Tbs. of Corn Syrup
Loaf of Italian or French Bread (your preference)
8 Eggs
2 Cups of Half & Half
1 tsp. Brandy
1 tsp. Triple Sec
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Melt butter in saucepan. Mix in brown sugar & corn
syrup. Stir until sugar is totally dissolved. In a separate small bowl whisk together the eggs, half & half,
vanilla extract, triple sec, brandy & salt. Pour both
mixtures into a shallow ceramic dish that you can
saturate (4) pieces of 1-1/2 inch cut bread at a time.
Get skillet hot on medium-high, melt in 2 pats of
butter along with a couple dashes of quality olive
oil (this helps with even carmelization). Coat your
bread well on both sides and add to skillet. Flip when
golden brown. Remove and spread generously with
honey butter and warm maple syrup. Squirt on some
whip cream to really dress it up. Now, this is the way
to Daddy’s heart.

A big shot attorney had to spend a couple of days in the
hospital. He was a royal pain to the nurses because he
bossed them around just like he did his staff. None of
the hospital staff wanted to have anything to do with
him.
The head nurse was the only one who could stand up to
him. She came into his room and announced, “I have to
take your temperature.”
After complaining for several minutes, he finally settled
down, crossed his arms and opened his mouth.
“No, I’m sorry,” the nurse stated, “but for this reading,
I can’t use an oral thermometer.” This started another
round of complaining but eventually he rolled over and
bared his behind.
After feeling the nurse insert the thermometer, he heard
her announce,”I have to get something. Now you stay
JUST LIKE THAT until I get back!”
She left the door to his room open on her way out. He
cursed under his breath as he heard people walking past
his door, laughing.....
After about 20 minutes, the man’s doctor came into the
room. “What’s going on here?” asked the doctor.
Angrily, the man answered, “What’s the matter, Doc?
Haven’t you ever seen someone having their temperature taken?”
After a pause, the doctor confessed..... “Not with a
Daffodil.”
A little old lady went to the grocery store to buy cat
food. She picked up four cans and took them to the
check-out counter. The girl at the cash register said,
“I’m sorry, but we can not sell you cat food without
proof that you have a cat. A lot of old people buy cat
food to eat, and the management wants proof that you
are buying the cat food for your cat.” The little old lady
went home, picked up her cat and brought it back to
the store. They sold her the cat food. The next day, she
tried to buy two cans of dog food. Again the cashier said
“I’m sorry, but we can’t sell you dog food without proof
that you have a dog. A lot of old people buy dog food
to eat, but the management wants proof that you are
buying the dog food for your dog.” So she went home
and brought in her dog. She then was able to buy the
dog food. The next day she brought in a box with a hole
in the lid. The little old lady asked the cashier to stick
her finger in the hole. The cashier said, “No, you might
have a snake in there.” The little old lady assured her
that there was nothing in the box that would harm her.
So the cashier put her finger into the box and quickly
pulled it out. She said to the little old lady, “That smells
like shit! “The little old lady said, “It is. I want to buy a
12 pack of toilet paper.” “Just trying to reassure the
management.”
A burglar broke into a house one night. He shone his
flashlight around, looking for valuables, and when he
picked up a BluRay player to place in his sack, a strange,
disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying “Jesus is
watching you.” He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked
his flashlight out and froze.
When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his
head, clicked the light back on and began searching
for more valuables. Just as he pulled the Bose out so
he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard,
“Jesus is watching you.” Freaked out, he shone his light
around frantically, looking for the source of the voice.
Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam
came to rest on a parrot. “Did you say that?” he hissed
at the parrot. ... “Yep,” the parrot confessed, “I’m just
trying to warn you.” The burglar relaxed. “Warn me,
huh? Who the hell are you?” “Moses,” replied the bird.
“Moses” the burglar laughed. “What kind of stupid people would name a parrot Moses?” “Probably the same
kind of people that would name an ass-eating Rottweiler
Jesus,” the parrot replied.
II went fishing this morning but after a short time I ran
out of worms. Then I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in
his mouth. Frogs are good bass bait.
Knowing the snake couldn’t bite me with the frog in his
mouth I grabbed him right behind the head, took the
frog, and put it in my bait bucket.
Now the dilemma was how to release the snake without getting bit. So, I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels
and poured a little whiskey in its mouth. His eyes rolled
back, he went limp.
I released him into the lake without incident and carried
on fishing using the frog.
A little later, I felt a nudge on my foot. It was that same
snake, with two more frogs in his mouth.
A nun and a priest are riding a camel through the desert.
After a few days the camel falls over dead. After looking over the situation the priest figures neither one of
them will survive the rest of the journey. The priest asks
the nun “I have never seen a woman’s breasts, and at
this point it probably wouldn’t matter much, so could I
see yours?” The nun agrees and shows him her breasts.
“May I touch them?” The nun allows him to. The priest
comments sincerely how wonderful they are. The nun
then asks “Father, I have never seen a man’s penis
before, could you show me yours? The priest drops his
drawers. “May I touch it?” After she fondles his penis for a minute he sports a huge erection. The priest
says, “you know if I place my penis in the proper place
it can give life!” “Is that right” the nun replies? “Yes.”
“Then why don’t you stick it up that camel’s ass and let’s
get the hell out of here!”

WHY EVERY BIKER NEEDS UM INSURANCE
In today’s economy, everyone is trying to stretch their dollar farther.
However, one corner you should never cut is the UM Insurance Coverage
on your motorcycle and family automobiles. Many folks don’t know what
UM Coverage is until they need it. So, what is it? UM stands for UnInsured/ UnderInsured Motorist Coverage and it provides you a way to be
financially compensated if you are in a collision caused by another driver
and that person does not have any auto insurance. UM also provides
coverage in the event of a collision caused by a another driver that does not
have enough insurance to fully compensate you for your medical bills, lost
wages, property damage or pain and suffering caused by the collision. The
State of Georgia requires every driver to carry a minimum of $25,000.00 in
automobile insurance coverage. Unfortunately, if one of us are injured in a
motorcycle wreck, then the medical bills may be substantially higher than
the at fault driver’s minimum coverage. Let’s use a common situation we
have all experienced. Imagine driving down a road when a car makes a left
turn across your path. If a collision occurs, then the biker could experience
injuries such as bone fractures, road rash, or even death. The medical bills
will cost far more than the $25,000 minimum coverage. This is where your
UM Coverage comes into play. It provides additional financial recovery for
you to compensate for medical bills, lost wages and damages that exceed the
at fault driver’s insurance coverage. Better yet, your UM Coverage travels
with you if you are injured in someone else’s vehicle. Think of it as a cloud of
protection that follows you and provides additional recovery if you are injured
by an uninsured or underinsured driver. Hopefully, you will never have to
deal with this complex legal situation after an accident. But, if you are in a
motorcycle or automobile collision, then please give me a call at 770-3824440 so we can meet and discuss your options.
