They saw lots of animals such as rabbits, alpacas,
racoons, emus, llamas and lots more. They got to
hold Hot Chocolate the guinea pig. They also got
to feed a baby goat. They then went to the playground and had ice creams as a treat. They were

We are in the semi-final. We beat Feakle and
drew against Tulla. The biggest threat in the competition is Tulla. The team is going well but there is still
work to do. We will most likely be playing Ballyea but
the draw hasn’t been done yet. We hope we will get
to play in Cusack Park in the final!

uin Tidy Towns
On Friday 13th May, 5th class went to the
Community Hall to collect supplies to tidy
the village. We split up into five different
groups each tidying a different area. One group
went to Malachys. Another went to The Pairc.
One group went to Cluain Gearrain, Quin gardens, and the last group went around Abbey
Stores. We picked up a lot of litter and helped
the tidy town people a lot.

When the government introduce a registration act,
called the Sokovia Accords, it forces the Avengers
to split sides. The registration act forced all superhumans to act under the supervision of the United
Nations, which some heroes don’t like. One side,
the Anti-Registration, led by Captain America/Steve
Rogers features The Winter Solider, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Agent 13. The
other side, the Pro-Registration side, led by IronMan/Tony Stark features The Vision, War Machine, Black Panther and Spider-Man. Black Widow
is torn between sides but eventually joins Captain
America.

The golf was ten euro. The golf is running for
six weeks. The coach’s name is Matthew
McCarthy. In the golf we use two golf clubs called the
wedge and the putter. We do it in the astro turf.
When he says four we have to sit down and if you are
the last person to sit down you have a punishment.
We have golf every Monday. It is good for people
who don’t like GAA. The golf is very enjoyable.

We have started the ‘Golden Boot’ Award for the
last two weeks. Mr Murphy’s and Mr Downes’
classes have won already. They get to have the
‘Golden Boot’ in their room for a week and also
their teacher gives them an award, such as, extra
PE or Art.
We joined in National Walk to School Week in
May. We tallied the classes and over 60% walked
daily. Well done! Next month we have Bike
Week, 11th to 19th June. There will be a National
COW (Cycle On Wednesday) on June 15th. Last
year 5,000 children cycled to school on that day.
We had our own COW day this week in Scoil na
Mainistreach to get us all back on our bikes for
summer. There was a prize for the best decorated bike. It was very difficult to choose a winner!
Congratulations to Ben O’Halloran and Sarah
Brassil for the best decorated bike.
