SUMMER 2006 NEWS of Interest to Weldon Distributors and Associates
A Message from Engineering
CONGRATULATIONS
One of Weldon’s distributors, Crotts and Saunders
Engineering of Winston-Salem, NC, celebrated their
50th anniversary on May 12, 2006. They celebrated
by way of a barbecue with their friends, family and
associates.
Hats Off to each and every one at
Crotts and Saunders Engineering
Inc. We wish you continued success
and another 50 years!!
Mr. S. John Bennett
Engineering Manager
Judging by the sharp increase in qualified inquiries and the vibrant
order activity so far this year, the Weldon Distributor network is
obviously doing a tremendous job. The engineering disciplines at
Weldon are hard at work processing the many engineered proposal
requests. Keep them coming!
As some of you already know, we are currently working on the
“Next Generation” of Weldon grinder products. Our goal is to
present a new series of machines with increased part size capacity
in a smaller footprint. This will be accomplished by incorporating
new technologies such as linear motors, compound slide designs,
and frameless drive motors. In addition, we will soon be releasing
information on a long-awaited Turret grinder with multiple
spindles for OD straight, OD angle, and ID grinding.
Along with the new machine models, Weldon engineers are also
busy developing CBN processing methods involving high-speed
“Peel” grinding. Weldon is fast becoming the industry leader in
this new and exciting application for CBN abrasives. This will be
a major topic at IMTS in Chicago, and Weldon will be ready with a
fully automated Midas Peel grinder on display. We look forward
to seeing you there.

Manufacturer’s Days
York County sponsors an annual “Made In America” factory tour in
June. More than 20
factories are on the list
for a “behind the scenes”
look at making of many
3
products. Weldon
participated for the past
few years and had many
visitors tour our facility.
Each year more people
come and see how and
what is manufactured.
They are amazed at the robotics, especially Miss Patti. They come
with questions and leave with answers and amazement.
