.At Annual Conference, the challenge was given for each church to consider collecting funds each of the 10 weeks until August 21, the official Golden Cross Sunday. If enough funds are raised, the current limit of $2,500 could be increased to
$5,000 per family. Please consider making a donation each week to the Golden
Cross Fund by placing your donation in an offering envelope. Every dollar counts!
Teepa Snow will be leading a workshop on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Friday, July
29, from 9AM to 4PM at Scotts Hill Baptist Church. Please see the flyer posted on the front of the Education Building for more information.
The Sharon United Methodist Women will meet Thursday, July 21 at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship
Hall. Please remember to bring your baby basket items which will benefit the Methodist Home for
Children. Please feel free to contact Kim Todd 910-398-1043 for information.
The annual Sharon church family picnic will be Sunday, July 31, following our
combined worship service. Worship will begin at 10AM that morning, with lunch
following at 12noon. At 2 o’clock, our White Elephant auction will take place in
the fellowship hall, with all proceeds going to the United Methodist Home for
Children. Please continue to scour your homes for that perfect White Elephant
donation to the cause. These donations can be funny, silly, goofy or serious.
Our goal is $1,000! At 3:30, there will be a time of games and fellowship. The
church will provide the hot dogs, hamburgers and buns, and the church family is
invited to bring side dishes and desserts, as well as your favorite relishes.
Our Wednesday night Family Nights are scheduled to resume August 17. If you would be interested in being part
of a team to help prepare a meal, please call the church office, Martin Hommer, or Preacher Eddie.

directory is for members and constituents alike. Additional information is available at both church entrances

Our next Membership Sunday will be July 31, which will be a combined worship service, beginning at 10AM. On August 7, there will be a
baptismal service on the Intercoastal Waterway at Sailfish Park on
Holden Beach (about five miles on the right after crossing the bridge).
The service will begin at 4 o’clock that afternoon. So far in 2016, we
have had 18 people unite their lives with our church family, putting us
well on the way of achieving our goal of 33 for the year. If you have
prayerfully considered making Sharon your church home, please call the
church office or contact Preacher Eddie.
Recreation Team meets tomorrow night at 7PM.
