CHILDREN’S TIME FIRST SCRIPTURE LESSON SECOND SCRIPTURE LESSON GOSPEL LESSON SERMON UMH # 95 The Next Generation (TNG) group will be sponsoring an Adults Night Out at the Carolina Comedy Club this Friday, July 22. The evening will feature Jon Reep. Tickets are $23.50. The Next Generations is for young adults or those young at heart. Please call Danielle Graves at 612-8407 for more information. Special music for this week’s Crossroads Service will be provided by our Adult Choir. The service begins at 7PM. Our Wednesday night services will conclude on July 27 with the 8:45 Praise Team providing the music. Chris Casto’s father is not doing very well and we would like to offer Chris some encouragement while she is away taking care of her parents. A nursery is available for infants and toddlers, located next to the restrooms and water fountain (use rear exit of sanctuary and turn left). Pew activity boxes are available near sound booth for children not participating in Sea Kids. * Please take a moment to fill out and pass the pew pads located at the end of each pew. .At Annual Conference, the challenge was given for each church to consider collecting funds each of the 10 weeks until August 21, the official Golden Cross Sunday. If enough funds are raised, the current limit of $2,500 could be increased to $5,000 per family. Please consider making a donation each week to the Golden Cross Fund by placing your donation in an offering envelope. Every dollar counts! Teepa Snow will be leading a workshop on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Friday, July 29, from 9AM to 4PM at Scotts Hill Baptist Church. Please see the flyer posted on the front of the Education Building for more information. The Sharon United Methodist Women will meet Thursday, July 21 at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please remember to bring your baby basket items which will benefit the Methodist Home for Children. Please feel free to contact Kim Todd 910-398-1043 for information. The annual Sharon church family picnic will be Sunday, July 31, following our combined worship service. Worship will begin at 10AM that morning, with lunch following at 12noon. At 2 o’clock, our White Elephant auction will take place in the fellowship hall, with all proceeds going to the United Methodist Home for Children. Please continue to scour your homes for that perfect White Elephant donation to the cause. These donations can be funny, silly, goofy or serious. Our goal is $1,000! At 3:30, there will be a time of games and fellowship. The church will provide the hot dogs, hamburgers and buns, and the church family is invited to bring side dishes and desserts, as well as your favorite relishes. Our Wednesday night Family Nights are scheduled to resume August 17. If you would be interested in being part of a team to help prepare a meal, please call the church office, Martin Hommer, or Preacher Eddie. This AFTERNOON! …..Sharon Legacy Youth’s concert at Rourk Gardens in Shallotte, 1-3PM. Photographs for our new church directory will be taken the week of August 2-6. We will be scheduling individuals and families on-line. (A link is available on our website. www.sharonbythesea.com). Please mark your calendars and make plans to have your picture taken. This directory is for members and constituents alike. The Lay Leadership Team will meet tomorrow evening at 6PM. The Lay Leadership Team is comprised of Rennie Leinneweber, Nicole Johnson, Nancy Bollinger, RL Hewett, Martin Hommer and Janet Brown. Our next Membership Sunday will be July 31, which will be a combined worship service, beginning at 10AM. On August 7, there will be a baptismal service on the Intercoastal Waterway at Sailfish Park on Holden Beach (about five miles on the right after crossing the bridge). The service will begin at 4 o’clock that afternoon. So far in 2016, we have had 18 people unite their lives with our church family, putting us well on the way of achieving our goal of 33 for the year. If you have prayerfully considered making Sharon your church home, please call the church office or contact Preacher Eddie. Recreation Team meets tomorrow night at 7PM. Sharon UMC’s Surf Camp will be July 27-29, from 912noon. Registration forms are available at both entrances of the church. The Surf Camp is opened to children and youth of all ages, but participants must be comfortable. The One Can Food Ministry’s Kentucky Fried Chicken fund raiser is Tuesday, July 26.
