TABLE OF CONTENTS Page 2: Bio Page 3: News + Upcoming Events Page 4-6: Annual Donors RHONDA VINCENT & THE RAGE Vincent’s career spans 24 albums and she has worked with everyone from Dolly Parton and George Jones to Faith Hill. She has received over 40 awards including an unprecedented 7 consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, along with multiple Grammy nominations. And if you add in her band The Rage they emerge as the most awarded band in Bluegrass music with over 100 awards. World class musicians, and an award winning Voice seamlessly set the stage for a breath-taking, one-of-a-kind, must-see performance; that reaches beyond the boundaries of bluegrass music! Rhonda Vincent, dubbed “The New Queen of Bluegrass” by the Wall Street Journal, began her musical journey at the age of three, performing alongside her family members on what was called The Sally Mountain Show. She sang bluegrass as a teenager, then recorded a couple of mainstream country albums in the 1990’s, when makeup artists cared more about her looks than her sound. She was asked if she could “get the bluegrass out of her voice.” Confused and heartbroken, she put together her first bluegrass band, and found the most natural approach to her music was in the bluegrass realm. In addition to being the most award winning band in Bluegrass music history, alongside her band The Rage, totaling over 100 awards, Vincent has also performed and recorded with the best of the best, including Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Daryle Singletary, Richard Marx, Hank Williams Jr and more. While being a 15time “Entertainer of the Year,” Vincent has established herself as one of the most visible, best-selling artists in the genre, whose cross-over appeal stretches well into the mainstream media. STUART’S OPERA HOUSE 52 Public Square in Nelsonville, Ohio | (740) 753-1924 stuartsoperahouse.org | facebook.com/stuartsoh twitter: @stuartsoh | instagram: @stuartsoperahouse As you may know, Stuart’s has initiated a capital campaign that will nearly triple the size of the main lobby and provide space for set construction, more costume storage, enhanced backstage accommodations - such as dressing rooms and green rooms - for performers, and vital educational programming. We have raised just over $4 million to support this vision, and we are seeking an additional $2 million over a longer period of time to establish an endowment fund that will help ensure long-term financial stability. The fire that struck 30 Public Square on Saturday night, April 11th, a building owned by Stuart’s Opera House, the future home of Stuart’s Opera House’s Education and Production Center did set us back. Now it’s more important than ever for you to contribute to help us renovate, rebuild, and contribute to the vitality of the Public Square. If you have questions before making a decision, we are here to help. In fact, we encourage you to learn more about the campaign and how it will benefit you. Stop by for a tour; call and ask to speak with Tim Peacock or Emily Prince. We would welcome the opportunity to share our thoughts on why this project is so very important.
