Mother's Day Walk/5K Fun Run a Success!
B
lue skies, warm weather and enthusiastic participants made our 3rd annual
Mother's Day Walk a big success. The 5K Fun Run was new this year and we
were thrilled to have over 60 runners!
This important fundraiser allows Bridge of
Hope to provide rental assistance and
support to single mothers as they work
find permanent housing and become selfsufficient.
Thanks for your support as we work together
to bring hope to single moms and their kids
right here in Centre County.
Mission

Mentor Group
W
e are so excited to accept a new
articipant into our program!
This single mother of one fiveyear-old son will be matched with
a mentoring group from Calvary
Baptist Church.
We will be sharing more about her
and her Bridge of Hope journey in
upcoming newsletters and on our
facebook page (like us on FB to keep
up with all that is happening).
We continue to serve another woman
in our PREP program. She is excited
to move into full service and we will
be in need of another mentoring
group for her.

he entire Bridge of Hope network
is getting a new logo. This includes
Bridge of Hope Centre County along
with other affiliates, Bridge of Hope
National, program sites, and Onechurch
sites across the country. The new logo
will be unveiled at our annual national
conference in early October.
An eye-catching logo helps to “brand”
an organization. As Bridge of Hope
National board member, Craig R.
Schloneger, shared, “When we think
about an organizational brand we quickly
identify with the visual parts -- the name,
typesetting, logo, colors and tag line.
National brands spend millions of dollars
to create an identity that is quickly
recognizable. At the very core, a brand is
a promise. It is a promise to customers,
employees and shareholders to live out
its organizational values and deliver
products and services as advertised.”
Bridge of Hope promises to practice
the Christian values of embracing
those in need, and offering lasting
friendships, professional assistance,
and opportunities for housing and
employment.
Although we will be changing the look
of our logo, we will not be changing who
we are, who we serve, what we do or
how we do it. We will still stand on the
promises our brand has made. So look
for the change in our logo, but not in
anything else!
W
e have grown so much over the
past five years because of the
dedication and passion of a small
group of people. Bridge of Hope
Centre County Board members, staff
and volunteers believe deeply that
there is a need in our community
for a long-term program that helps
homeless and at-risk single moms
work their way out of the cycle of
poverty and into a life of stability and
hope.

ridge of Hope Centre County has
partnered with Home Delivery Pizza
Pub for a truly wonderful fundraiser.
Home Delivery hosts a scrumptious,
gourmet dinner each month.
Our prayer, as an organization,
is that there are others in the
community who will join our cause
and lend their talents and energy
to this mission. We are looking for
board members, volunteers, and
consultants who are willing to be
advocates and ambassadors for
single mothers facing homelessness.
The dinner includes five courses, two
wine courses, and beverages. You
can enjoy this dinner for only $50. All
proceeds go to Bridge of Hope Centre
County. Home Delivery Pizza Pub
donates all the food, staff and gratuity.
These dinners have been very well
received and we have heard glowing
comments from the diners who have
participated. One diner said, “Thank
you Home Delivery Pizza Pub. These
awesome dinners will help support a
single-mom’s desire to have a safe place
to call home.”
