The particularly deep molding in the heel
area supports the foot and keeps the heel
bone in its natural position. As a result,
the foot has as much grip in a sandal as
it would have in a closed-toe shoe.

In the late 1990s, uniform standards for safety, protective, and occupational footwear were established at a European level. They still determine
the applicable standards in this area to this day. The technical services provider TÜV Rheinland tests our BIRKENSTOCK Professional models
according to the following standards:
· EN ISO 20344: Specifications and test methods · EN ISO 20345: Specifications for safety shoes
· EN ISO 20346: Specifications for protective shoes · EN ISO 20347: Specifications for occupational shoes
Shoes are described as occupational shoes if they have slip-resistant, antistatic, or similar characteristics and generally do not have special toe
protection. Models with toe protection are divided into two categories: protective shoes (plastic toe cap, impact energy of up to 100 joules) and
safety shoes (steel toe cap, impact energy of up to 200 joules).
Our soles have been tested by TÜV Rheinland and must meet the standards for one of the following categories:
· SRA – Slip resistance on ceramic tiles with detergent
· SRB – Slip resistance on steel floor with glycerine
· SRC – Slip resistance on ceramic tiles with detergent and on steel floor with glycerine

A reliable aid in a workshop, on a construction site, or in the garden: the ALPRO knee-protection pad protects the kneecap and shin
from pain and possible physical damage when working in a kneeling position. The pad is made of waterproof hard-wearing ALPRO
foam and stands out thanks to its patented ergonomic shape and its innovative fastening system that can be adjusted to fit all
sizes. The ALPRO knee protection pad can be adjusted to fit any lower leg snugly, thanks to the special ergonomic arrangement of
the Velcro straps.
The knee pad has been tested by TÜV (German Technical Inspection Agency) and certified
according to EN 14404:2004 + A1:2010 (personal protective equipment – knee pad for work in
a kneeling position).

ALPRO knee protectors were developed in cooperation with the association
of commercial and industrial workers’ compensation insurance carriers.

Thanks to the special ergonomic arrangement of the Velcro fastenings,
the ALPRO knee-protection pad can be fitted securely and individually
onto the lower leg. The Velcro straps are clear of the back of the knee,
which avoids constriction and, at the same time, allows optimal
mobility.
ALPRO knee protectORS
The ALPRO knee protectors ensure optimal knee protection while
working in a kneeling position. Thanks to the variable Velcro straps,
the protectors can be properly adjusted and fastened to the knee. This
way, all work on construction sites, in the garden, or in the workshop
can be carried out in a knee-friendly and painless manner.

The ALPRO knee cushion provides immediate and easy knee protection
for all work done during kneeling. Whether for work in the garden, in
the garage, or in the house – the anatomically shaped knee cushion
made of shock-absorbing ALPRO foam relieves the knees and protects
against pain and possible injuries.
