Compliance
This change is only required for base model 803 product returns that need replacement of U4,
SSM2017P op amp or production manufacturing of new base model 803 units.
1.2
Description
PCB Assembly 803-3101 has been renumbered 803-3102 to incorporate the changes required for the
INA217AIP op amp to function within the base model 803. 803-3102 includes several changes in
addition to changing the SSM2017P original part to the new INA217AIP part.
1.3
Applicability
This modification is applicable to all Base Model 803 Switch Panel (hereafter referred to as Model
803-[ ]) s/n’
s as indicated below. All units above this serial number will contain this modification from
the factory.
This modification will be included by the factory within all Base Model 803 new production units starting
at S/N 874. This modification is only required for returns that do not already have this modification
installed and need replacement of U4.
1.4
Reason
This modification is being made to implement a new amplifier IC (integrated circuit) that is to replace an
original part that has become obsolete. The new IC was designed by its manufacturer to be directly
compatible with the original part. However, testing of the replacement that was performed by Cobham
determined that additional changes were required to the Model 803-[ ] design in order for the
replacement IC to perform to the design requirements of the Model 803-[ ].

Approval
TSO Minor change approval will be obtained from the FAA by Cobham within 6 months as required by
the FAA. FAA approval has not been granted for modifications to be made outside of the factory.

Procedure Instructions
2.1
Modification Procedure
2.1.1
PCB Assembly 803-3101 can be converted to 803-3102 using the 803-3102 assembly drawing
and parts list. The following parts are affected.
R28 is changed to 240 ohm 1/4 watt.
R34 is changed to 9.09K 1/8 watt.
R21 and R23 changed to 100 ohm 1/4 watt.
R20 and R24 changed to 390 ohm 1/4 watt.
U4 is changed from SSM2017P to INA217AIP.

2.3 Acceptance Test procedures
2.2.1 Refer to Acceptance Test Procedure 803-4 or 803-4-1, for the complete test of the Model
803-[ ] Switch Panel.

No additions to the procedure are needed. Verify that the unit under test performs as required.
