Home Modification Services
Who do we assist?
Modifications include any work to your home
to make it safer, more accessible and easier to
use. It is recommended Home Modification
requests are assessed by an Occupational
Therapist to ensure a client’s safety and
compliance with Australian Standards.
Our services are available to older people,
people with disabilities and their carers who
are living in their own home in the Sutherland
& St George area.
• Internal/external ramps and rails
• Hand held showers and grab rails
• Bathroom modifications eg shower hob
hob lowering or removal
• Widening doorways
• Modification or reconstruction of steps
• Furniture modifications e.g.
raising/lowering of beds, chairs, tables
• Wedges at trip hazards
Home Maintenance Services
This service allows for minor home
maintenance repairs externally and internally
to reduce risk to the home dweller. The
maintenance work covered by this program is
designed to maintain safety in the home, and
can include:
• Small repairs to windows, doors and floors
• Minor plumbing, e.g. changing tap washers
• Minor electrical e.g. changing light globes
• Minor maintenance to fences and gates
• Lawn mowing
• Low maintenance gardening
• One-off yard clears
• Ensuring areas are well lit to prevent falls
• Repair of unsafe stairs
• Repair of concrete paths to ensure ease of
access to the house
• Repairs to guttering above entrances to
avoid slip hazards
All our services are provided by qualified,
licensed contractors and trade staff.
Cost of services
A quote is provided for approval prior to work
commencing. Government funding is available
for eligible clients. When contacting My Aged
Care we are registered as Sutherland Shire
Home Modification & Maintenance Inc.
