Claddagh Commission, Inc. is a non-profit agency recognized by the
Federal government as a 501(3)-C tax exempt organization. Our
agency is committed to providing high quality services to children and
adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Although
located primarily in the Town of Evans, Claddagh offers support to more
than 425 participants and their families from the entire
Western New York area. We employ over 400 full and part-time staff.
We take pride in being a COMPASS agency. COMPASS is a designation by
OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) which
Claddagh has earned for the past 13 years. This honor is validated
yearly and given to less than one percent of the more than 700
agencies across the state of New York for excellent quality of services,, a
strong internal management system, and leadership in the field.
Claddagh is a private, voluntary provider that receives 98% of its
funding from governmental sources. With the changes in the NYS
budget and Medicaid reform, the need has increased for Claddagh to
seek private donations through various fundraising activities.
