The California Wildlife Foundation through State and Federal Grant
Funding from the State Costal Conservancy contracted with Clean Lakes,
Inc. to carry out a one time application of aquatic herbicides to non-native
Spartina (cordgrass) on approximately 31.5 acres of tidal marsh located on
the San Francisco Bay shoreline.
The City of Alameda contracted with Clean Lakes, Inc. to carry out a one
time application of aquatic herbicides to non-native Spartina (cordgrass) on
approximately 14.3 acres of tidal marsh located on the San Francisco Bay
shoreline.
Authorizations for accessing and treating the sites were obtained by others
(City of Alameda, CDFG & the Invasive Spartina Project) and provided to
Clean Lakes, Inc. prior to the initiation of the work.
All CEQA and NEPA reviews were completed and adopted by the
appropriate agencies, and NPDES Permit coverage was obtained under the
Statewide General Permit for Application of Aquatic Herbicides.
