This will be an unusual newsletter. I have received pictures of dinners, but sadly, no one sent me
any news (or should I say gossip) from the dinners. I was at a few dinners here in Florida, but those
in Michigan have been totally silent. Could it be because they are too cold to write to me?
The first get-together that I am aware of was in Bradenton, FL. We tried to notify everyone we knew
was here, and we met at Miller’s Dutch Kitchen on January 5th. You will notice people were from
Lansing and Motor Cities Winnies. We had a great dinner, but Skip and Nancy almost didn’t make it.
Skip made a mistake for the first time ever, and confused the town of Braden (which is closer to his
campground) with Bradenton. It actually was in the center for all of us, but most had to drive at
least 1 ½ hours to get there.

You may have noticed that I left out two people in the back corner. That would be Becky and Butch Moore, our
Area Reps. Sadly, the Hoag’s were only here for three weeks, and had to return to Michigan soon after the
dinner.
(Down in Florida, when I asked what there is to do, all I heard
was good places to eat. Good to know the true nature of
Motorcitians doesn’t change with the temperature.)
There were several smaller dinners which you will find
later in the newsletter. The next formal dinner was on
January 17th at South Lyon Hotel, arranged by Judy and
Bert Ruth.

If you are watching Fox Sports Detroit, make sure you watch the Tiger’s
commercial. Three of our very own, Skip Yates, George Krec, and Jim Milroth
were in Lakeland to buy tickets. They were asked to stay after and perform
in a commercial. Skip was wearing his yellow WIT sweatshirt. They were fed hot
dogs – not sure if it was to be used in the commercial or if it was a reward
for doing a good job…
I had asked everyone to take a picture of themselves, hopefully outside, on or around January 10th. I
got pictures from six couples. I have put them in the order that I received them.
Steve and Marie Van Hart sent their picture a little early so
that we could see that Marie did actually come down to
Florida for a while. Don’t feel too sorry for her – they are
going on a cruise in February. This picture was taken at
Bradenton Beach FL, eating at the Beach House.
Ray and Diane are working hard around the
house. Ray’s taking care of the snow, while
Diane and her son are sanding the kitchen
cabinets after ripping out the tile floor.
