GHREPOWER GHREPOWER Powering Your Future Powering Your Future 50kW Technical Information 01792 846953 www.ghrepower.co.uk GHREPOWER Powering Your Future The GHREPOWER 50kW wind turbine has a gearless design, offering the advantages of: • Greater simplicity and reliability • Quieter operation • Greater efficiency GHREPOWER can supply a complete wind energy system, which includes the turbine, controller, inverter and associated cabling. All components of the system come with a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty. GHREPOWER can also offer a five-year maintenance contract. The GHREPOWER 50kW wind turbine is currently undergoing MCS testing, with certification expected imminently. Current Installations There are three GHREPOWER 50kW wind turbine installations in Scotland, in addition to 23 others worldwide, in countries including the USA, Sweden, Italy and Belgium. In Scotland, one GHREPOWER 50kW wind turbine is at the TUV testing centre, undergoing MCS testing, and two are installed at Bathgate Sports Centre in West Lothian. It is possible to arrange a visit to these turbines, if desired. 01792 846953 www.ghrepower.co.uk GHREPOWER Powering Your Future Technical Data General details Model FD14.2-50/12 Rated power 50 kW Turbine type Upwind Rotation direction Clockwise Rotor diameter 14.2m Hub heights available 20.6 m, 25.6 m, 30.6 m SWT class S Colour White Rotor Number of blades 3 Speed Variable Design rotor speed 85 rpm Maximum rotor speed 120 rpm Direction of rotation Clockwise Swept area 158.37 m2 Blade material FRP Speed regulation Stall control, Active yawing, Electromagnetic brake and Mechanical brake Brake Braking system Air compressor Performance Working wind speed 3 – 25 m/s Rated wind speed 12 m/s Survival wind speed 59.5 m/s Rated output voltage 380 V (AC) Remote monitoring system SCADA Generator Generator type 3 Phase, Permanent Magnet Gearbox Gearbox type No gearbox – Direct Drive 01792 846953 www.ghrepower.co.uk GHREPOWER Powering Your Future Tower Tower sizes 20 m, 25 m, 30 m Tower type Tubular Tower material Steel Tower sections Weights Blade 213 kg Nacelle 2,720 kg Tower 5,496 kg, 9,256 kg, 12,500 kg Power Curve GHREPOWER 50kW Power Curve 60 Power Output (kW) 50 40 30 20 10 0 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Wind Speed at Hub (m/s) 01792 846953 www.ghrepower.co.uk 11 12 13 14 GHREPOWER Powering Your Future Estimated Energy Yield The table below gives the estimated yields for a variety of wind speeds. Note that the sound power level of a wind turbine depends on several factors such as but not limited to regular maintenance and day-to-day operation. Therefore, this information does not constitute a warranty towards the customer that the wind turbine will meet the exact sound power level values provided in this document at any project specific site. 01792 846953 www.ghrepower.co.uk GHREPOWER Powering Your Future Crane and Access Requirements The turbine components will be delivered in standard 40 foot shipping containers. The turbine requires a 25 tonne crane for construction. A suitable access route for these vehicles will need to be identified. At the site, an access track will need to be constructed to the turbine locations. This would be composed of hardcore and is expected to be 4m wide with a depth of 300mm, subject to survey. A crane hard-standing of 10m x 10m will also be required, constructed to the same specification as the access track. Foundation Design The foundation is made up of high-strength concrete, steel reinforced mesh, and high tension foundation bolts. Adjustable piping, and tubing for the earthing and cabling will be buried within the concrete. Before the foundation construction takes place a geotechnical survey is required, and the exact foundation specification altered with respect to this. The expected foundation size is 6 m x 6 m and between 1.8 and 2.4 m deep.
