Like the truly classic guitar amps in history, each model in the Hayden range sets out to do a job and
do it properly. From the moment you plug in, a Hayden makes its presence felt with a strong and
unmistakable core tone that remains intact no matter how hard the amplifier is driven. No endless
tweaking of controls – your new Hayden’s going to sound great straight out of the box.
Drawing on the classic valve amp designs of the past, Hayden adds just the features a modern guitarist needs like valve
switching, pick-up matching and the greater reliability that comes through refined circuit design, and leaves out the
superfluous gimmicks that often stand in the way of great tone. And through the careful combination of custom-wound
transformers, defence-standard components and elegant signal topology, Hayden delivers a performance experience in
which the player feels unusually ‘connected’ to the sound, and the volume control on the guitar is all that’s needed to
move from clean through to crunch and overdriven sounds.
Hayden amps are hand-wired in England by specialists with years of
experience in defence-standard work. Uncompromising specifications
include non-ferrous stainless steel chassis construction, hand-machined
gold turret tags, ceramic valve bases, engraved front panels and
marine quality birch ply cabinets. Yet despite a decidedly boutique
approach, Hayden amps are priced within range of the working
guitarist.
So the question isn’t do you need a Hayden amp, it’s which Hayden

PETITE 2
As simple as a guitar amp can get. On the tour bus or in the
hotel room, plug into the Petite 2 and you’re hard-wired to the
vintage guitar sound that lit the fuse of rock & roll.
The Petite 2 does it like it was in the pioneering days of amplifier design
– no circuit board, not even turret tags, just the finest components, hand
wired, point-to-point. A single ECC83 valve in the preamp stage and a
6V6 in the output stage serve up the sound of the era when the blues
went electric, moving out of the cotton fields and into the juke joints.
Driven hard and wound up all the way, the Petite 2 punches well above
its weight, rewarding the guitarist with a harmonically rich and fullbodied performance.

BACK PANEL
The Petite 2 takes a similarly uncomplicated approach to controls with
just volume and tone knobs mounted on its rear facing panel, along with a
three-position gain switch – standard, crunch and overdrive. The Petite 2
delivers its 2-Watt output via a Celestion G10 Greenback 10" speaker.

PETITE 5
The Petite 5 is a 5-Watt single channel valve combo that
sounds glorious with both single coil and humbuckerequipped guitars. The low power output delivers the rich
sound of a cranked vintage amp at sensible volume levels,
making the Petite 5 perfect for studio recording.
Inspired by the designs of the ’60s, the Petite 5 effortlessly pumps out
the classic rock guitar sounds heard on so many memorable records
from that decade. A dual switchable power stage invites the guitarist to
choose between an EL84 valve for a gritty, British flavour or a 6V6 for a
glassier, more direct, American tone, while the footswitchable boost
introduces an extra valve gain stage, pushing the sound further into a
raunchy, ’70s overdrive.
The Petite 5’s beauty is more than skin deep. Components are mounted
on gold turret tags which are hand-wired to create a pure and elegant
circuit layout. The full character of the amplifier is realised by a 10"
Celestion G10 Greenback – a speaker renowned for its weighty low end,
creamy mid-range and top-end clarity.

COTTON CLUB
7/15 & 15/30
GUITAR AMPLIFIERS
Drawing inspiration from the groundbreaking British guitar
music of the ’60s, the Cotton Club 7/15 and 15/30 combos
build on the available amp technology of the day to make
their signature sounds more accessible in a variety of
recording and live situations. Both amplifiers have the facility
to switch between Single-Ended, and Push-Pull modes,
empowering their EL84-driven output stages to make a full
contribution to the sound and response of the amplifier at
manageable volume levels.
Using a footswitch, players are able to switch between a clean
channel with simple treble, bass and volume controls, and a higher
gain channel with presence, treble and bass controls, plus a gain
control ranging from light to medium crunch. The addition of a boost
on channel 2 moves the sound into a more modern era but, overall,
the gain structures of both combos are kept purposely low, enabling
the guitarist to add pedals for a saturated lead tone without
compromising the dynamic response of the output stage. Channel 2
also features a master volume control for balancing the levels of lead
and rhythm settings.

The voice control is provided to match the pickups to the amplifier and
has the effect of ‘thickening’ a single coil pickup which is too thin, or
‘thinning’ a humbucker which is too thick.
Plug in, start playing and the strong core tone of the 7/15 and 15/30
combos immediately makes its presence felt. Clean sounds exhibit a rich,
woody chime while channel 2 pushes into a smooth and dynamically
responsive overdrive, yielding a satisfying crunch.
Whether to choose a Cotton Club 7/15 or a 15/30 combo depends
entirely on the size of venue you’re playing. The 7/15 kicks out a
maximum of 15-Watts via its single 12" Celestion G12M Greenback
speaker and can be cranked up full in the studio when switched into 7Watt mode. Meanwhile the 15/30 combines a maximum 30-Watt output
with a 2 x 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speaker configuration to
achieve the sound pressure levels necessary to compete with a drummer
in a club gig.

SPEAKEASY COMBO
SPEAKEASY
Like every Hayden, the Speakeasy puts tone first. However
this exquisite 50-Watt valve amp also delivers a degree of
versatility that equips it well for the modern stage or studio.
The Speakeasy is configured in the classic British style – two channels
with two separate signal paths ahead of a shared tone shaping stage
providing control over presence, bass, middle and treble. Channel 1
features a valve driven spring reverb and a gain range that moves
seamlessly from clean into a light crunch. Considerably more gain is
available from channel 2 which ranges from medium crunch to full
overdrive, stopping short of full saturation.
SPEAKEASY HEAD
Footswitching between the channels also switches between two master
volume controls, allowing guitarists to balance the volume levels of clean
and overdriven sounds. Footswitch control is also provided for the reverb
and an external effects loop which is bypassed entirely when switched
out for maximum signal integrity.
The Speakeasy’s output stage combines over-specified, custom wound
transformers with pairs of both EL34 and 6L6 valves. A switch on the
front panel is used to select the EL34’s for the warm, fat, crunchy
sounds typical of British valve amps, or the 6L6s for a more transatlantic
tone, while a second switch can be used to select all four valves
simultaneously for maximum power and headroom.

Like other Hayden amps, the Speakeasy provides guitarists with the
facility to pre-filter the input stage to match the guitar. Vintage singlecoils can be ‘beefed up’ or over-aggressive humbuckers tamed as
necessary.
The Speakeasy is available as both a
1 x 12" combo and a head, with a
range of 2 x 12" and 4 x 12" (see next
page) cabinets available. After careful
analysis of all the available speakers,
both the combo and cabinets are
loaded with Eminence Governor Red
Coat drivers, and all cabinets can be
switched for 4 Ohms or 16 Ohms
impedance in mono, or 2 x 8 Ohms
in stereo.
On stage or in the studio, the Speakeasy rewards the experienced
guitarist by responding readily to every subtle nuance of the performance.

The Classic Lead 80 is Hayden’s hard rock amp. Free of
superfluous gimmicks, it gets you straight to the sound with a
performance reminiscent of ’70s British rock moving on to
more aggressive, modern tones.
Rated at 80-Watts, the Classic Lead strikes the perfect balance between
the characteristics of a 100-Watt design – particularly the low frequency
response – and the advantages of a 50-Watt amp, most notably the
ability to drive it harder at gigging volume levels.

Channels 1 and 2 vary only in their gain structures, 1 being medium to
high gain covering subtle warmth to a huger, 3D crunch, and 2 taking
things further into full, saturated, sustain without a hint of fizz. Presence,
bass, middle and treble controls are provided for tone shaping but the
Classic Lead won’t make you work hard to get a great sound. It’s all
there, straight out the box. Presence isn’t something you need to dial
in on the Classic Lead 80 – it’s already going to be right up there in
your face.

Dual master volume controls keep the levels matched when switching
between channels and the Classic Lead 80 also includes a true bypass
post EQ effects loop.
The Classic Lead 80 isn’t just about tone. It’s also about response. Unlike
other valve amp designs, the Classic Lead 80 doesn’t rely on negative
feedback in the circuit design to deliver a ‘pleasing’ sound at the
expense of dynamic response. Using custom-wound output transformers,
the Classic Lead plays with you rather than against you, tracking your
playing extremely quickly and making you feel connected to the sound.
The Classic Lead 80 is available as a
2 x 12" combo or a head, with flat and
angled 4 x 12" cabinets available – all
loaded with Eminence Governor Red
Coat speakers. Cabinets are switchable
for 4 Ohms or 16 Ohms impedance in
mono, or 2 x 8 Ohms in stereo.

hand wired designs to deliver Class A guitar amp tone at
refreshingly affordable prices. Packed with features to
provide budding guitar heroes with maximum versatility, the
Peacemakers are manufactured to exacting standards to
ensure performance and reliability.

Unlike most Class A amps, the Peacemakers have 2 channels – one for
the vintage, boutique amp sound, and a second that takes the classic
Class A tone and turns it into a modern, high gain and very usable guitar
sound with plenty of dynamics. Although vintage in character, all the
Hayden Peacemakers feature built-in reverb and digital chorus, a channel
2 Boost facility, an effects loop and switchable dual master volumes to
create amplifiers of outstanding versatility. A 4-way footswitch is included
as standard.
The Hayden Peacemaker range includes a 40-Watt 1 x 12" combo, a
60-Watt 2 x 12" combo, and a 60-Watt head which can be used in
conjunction with any Hayden cabinets (see previous pages). The 40-Watt
power section uses the much-loved Push-Pull configuration of 4 EL84
valves while the 60-Watt unit uses a pair of EL34s. Both combos and the
head use 4 x 12AX7 valves in the preamp.
