It is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, founded in 2011. with the goal to initiate actively participation of youth in cultural, social and ethical transformation of society. Trainers: Nebojsa Nick Djerić – experienced Salto trainer Vera Srdić - Family psychotherapist, experienced in work with youth with fewer opportunities and their inclusion www.eycv.org About the project: The main goal: Promotion of tolerance and multiculturalism among young people with an emphasis on youth from disadvantaged (broken) families and their inclusion into society in the spirit of european values as well as education and empowering socially disadvantaged youth, meeting with current situation in European society and the motivation to continue active engagement and participation in society. The main idea: Education of young people about tolerance in terms of origin, religion, sexual orientation, social status or ethnic minority issues. Raising the awareness of the participants about what it means to be "Young European'' whether they are from an EU country or not. Empowering young people to overcome the lack of social factors that affect demotivating and stigmatizing in meeting the fundamental needs of each young man to safety, the right to personal development, equal opportunities of social, emotional, and social well-being as well as to increase awareness of multiculturalism and European social values. www.eycv.org The main product: "Place for all of us!" promote the idea of European youth, the idea of freedom and equality among nations, gender and sexual orientation, religious and sends a clear message, "A society without discrimination." As the final product is planned to be a video and photo exhibit that will promote solidarity and represent all sessions covered topics as well as some of the key moments that have marked the event. Wich will be posted online on organization website. www.eycv.org Some of the activities: • Presentation of Youth in Action Programme, its permanent and annual priorities and objectives • Session about cultural and ethnic diversity; • Session about tolerance, and social discrimination topics; • Study visit to local NGO's and Governmental institutions dealing with discirmination of young people dealing with social obstacles; • Session about inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities - youth from broken families; • Workshop with photo gear - basic tips and tricks; • Photo-marathon on Petrovaradin Fortress (www.petrovaradinfortress.com) and anti discrimination session on Petrovaradin Fortress • Educative workshops on how to create project idea, develop it into the written project proposal, implement and evaluate a project www.eycv.org Objectives: to promote Youth in Action Programme as an educational tool for young people with social problems to encourage young people that didn’t have good social environment (to play an important role in their local communities using acquired new knowledge and skills on our training course) to encourage participants to use their better social environment and skills to empower youth from broken families to take part in building safer society on European values to encourage participants to clarify importance of roles in society for youth with social problems to meet the participants with team work and building emotional strenght through group to offer learning methods of non-formal education to participants for improving inclusion of unemployed young people with social problems to contribute unemployed young people own development of capabilities and skills in finding job and better communication in social envirnoment to promote Youth in Action Program as a tool for social inclusion of unemployed youth Target group: All people that are working with young people with social obstacles (youth workers, youth leaders, NGO activists, peer educators, psychotherapists...). Working language: English – all participants must be able to actively communicate using English language. Period of realization: from 25th April to 3rd May 2014 www.eycv.org Location: Novi Sad, Serbia Seen from a vantage-point in the Fruška Gora hills, Novi Sad gently and easily spreads across the Pannonian Plain, opening its doors wide to every guest. This is a Pannonian city rich in tradition and culture, where everything flourishes and everything is preserved, most of all the relaxed nature of the people. Novi Sad, the capital of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, has a great many buildings reflecting a variety of architectural styles. Some of the most important Serbian cultural and academic institutions were located in Novi Sad and still are today. In addition, Novi Sad can boast of being a multinational, multicultural and multi-faith city to an extent that few others in Europe can. In this city, differences and diversity are considered advantages. Novi Sad is Serbia's second largest city, after Belgrade. According to the data from November 2009, the city had an urban population of 283,634, while its municipal population was 370,101.The city is located on the border of the Bačka and Srem regions, on the banks of the Danube River and Danube-Tisa-Danube Canal, while facing the northern slopes of Fruška Gora Mountain. Since it was founded in 1694, Novi Sad became the centre of Serbian culture and earned its nickname Serbian Athens. Today, Novi Sad is a large industrial www.eycv.org and Financial Centre of the Serbian economy; and it is also one of the biggest construction sites in the region. The name Novi Sad means "New Plantation" (noun) in Serbian. It is a translation of the Latin word "Neoplanta," which was given by Maria Teresia. As a meeting place of cultures and people, Novi Sad came to have many different names in various languages. Petrovaradin Fortress is an 18th century fortress located on the right bank of the Danube river in Novi Sad, in the province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The cornerstone of the present-day southern part of the fortress was laid on October 18, 1692, by Charles Eugène de Croÿ. Petrovaradin Fortress has many underground tunnels as well (16 km of underground countermine system). www.eycv.org How to reach meeting point Meeting point: Meeting point will be at railway station which is neer bus station in Novi Sad, by the old locomotive. Please note that we expect you to arrive on April th 25 . How to get to Novi Sad You can reach Novi Sad directly from Belgrade (train, bus), Budapest (train) and Zagreb (bus). We are kindly asking you to choose the ecologically and economically friendly means of transport, if possible. If you choose airplane, please be aware that there are (unfortunately!) no cheap flights to Serbia, but that you can find a cheap flight to Budapest or Zagreb. Please take a look in table (down) about your maximum travel costs which we can refund. www.eycv.org From Belgrade (capital city of Serbia) to Novi Sad you can choose to take either train or bus. Trains are cheaper and costs about 5 EUR (600 RSD) one‐way and less reliable (can be late between 15 and 150 minutes!). The train ride usually takes a bit less than two hours. Buses from Belgrade to Novi Sad go quite often. The price goes from 700 to 1000 RSD (6‐9 EUR). From Budapest (Hungary), there are two direct trains to Novi Sad. There are buses from Belgrade to Novi Sad every 15-20 minutes between 5am and 11pm. It will take you to the central train station in Belgrade (ZELEZNICKA www.eycv.org STANICA), which is just next to the central bus station in Belgrade (AUTOBUSKA STANICA). The ride costs up to 240 RSD RSD, it is about 2.5 EUR - money can be changed directly at the airport. If you choose taxi it should cost more than 1200 RSD (10 EUR) to the central bus or train station in Belgrade. Traveling by taxi can not be refunded. The official letter in Serbia is Cyrillic writing, but Latin letters are also in use. The exchange rate is 1 € = approx. 115 Dinar. You can exchange foreign currency in exchange offices and banks. Be aware that it might be difficult to exchange coins here, so bring the paper bills. There is no significant difference in the exchange rates, except at the airport, hotels and sometimes restaurants. Many of the banks in Serbia have ATMs. Visa, Master card and other cards can be used, but always ask in advance if you plan to pay something with it. www.eycv.org Customs You are allowed to bring the following into Serbia without facing taxes: 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco; 1 liter of wine and 1 liter of spirits; 1/4 liter of Eau de Cologne and a 'reasonable' quantity of perfume; 2 photo cameras; 1 movie camera; 1 pair of binoculars; 1 pocket electronic calculator; camping equipment and 1 bicycle. Foreigners are allowed to bring their medications, but are advised to declare the quantity on the entry to Serbia, so they won’t have any problems leaving the country with it.
