COIhPONENIS LET OFFS Let Offs accurately control fabric tension using load cell feedback for closed loop control. Multipuck brakes or inverter drives provide a wide range of operating tensions to process both light and hear,y fabrics. tIIoffs ACCUMULATORS Fabric Storage Accumulators maintain continuous operation of the treating system. Hydraulic cylinders provide uniform and adjustable tension on the fabric. Rigid construction, pre-stretched chains and alignment shafts provide positive tracking to prevent fabric shift for years of consistent operation. A(UMUIATORS PLAS-TANK Dipping Stations Litzler Dip Tanks, sized to minimize dip waste, are made of high-molecular-weight polymer. The plastic has enhanced release properties that reduce cleaning time as much as 75 percent. Litzler Uni-Squeeze Rolls assure uniform squeeze pressure.Squeezeboost is activated by the LMMI for extra pressure when splices are detected. PLAS-VAC Vacuum Extractors The Litzler PLAS-VAC Vacuum Extractor, or DeWebbel was developed with extensive research and customer input and uses the latest technology in both construction and control. The system plays a critical role in adhesion and product quality. The PLAS-VAC includes a vacuum head, primary settling box, secondary settling box, bag filter and fan. For easycleaning, the vacuum head and primary settling box are made of the same high-molecular-weight polymer as Litzler Dip Tanks. Vacuum pressure for each product is controlled via LMMI using inverter AC variable speed drives with feedback pressure sensors. The Litzler PLAS-VAC also features: r SLOT-CLEAN, a continuous automatic slotcleaning device. . Easy-to-remove, track-mounted heads with a repeatable positioning system. . Matched machining ensures perfect alignment of rolls, bearings and gears. All bearings are lubed for life. Each tension stand includes an automatic oil pumping lubrication system for the gears. Engineers use computerprograms to selectthe proper number and size of tension stand rolls and bearings. To ensure critical alignments and reduce field installation time and cost, Litzler MM tension stands are fully factory assembled, tested and certified to exacting standards. PERFECT-WIND Surface Winders The Litzler PERFECT-WIND Surface Winder, which produces rolls up to 2000 mm in diameter, maintains accurate end count from beginning to end ofthe wound package and ensures a finished package with straight edges. o Litzler's patented, three-ftnger spreader -- the Rolliner -- spreads treated tire cord and orients selvages prior to winding. o An electronic loadcell precisely measures compaction force to accurately control package hardness. This assures square sided packags within a guaranteed tolerance +l- 2nm layer to layer. . Easy-tGuse touch screerr contnols, ergonornic desigr and asmooth ejection system allow for quick and easyroll doffs. . The Litzler Perfect-Cut motorized cutoffcan be installed at the windingtable. Precisely controlled time, temperature and tension determines the ultimate strength and modulus of the cord within the fabric. The Normalize Oven reheats the fabric at a slightly lower temperature and with less stretch and tension. This relaxes the cord and provides an additional 5 to 15 percent tensile strength to the individual cords. and Features Construction The oven supply system directs high velocity heated air at the cord with Litzler's proprietary nozzle jets. The computer-designed supply headers and nozzle jets provide rapid and uniform heating' Temperature accuracy and heat transfer uniformity is +/- 1.5'C across the web and +/- 2.5"C from top to bottom of each oven. In addition to Litzler nozzlejets, there are several features exclusive to Litzler tower ovens: . VAPOR-PROOF -- An all-welded panel system. Since no contaminates or finish oils can penetrate the panel, fire hazards are greatly reduced. . SUPER-SEAL -- A sealing system to create a mechanical labyrinth against leakage. . LITZ-COOL -- A quick-cool system. In the event of an emergency stop, the hot jetted air is automatically directed away from the fabric and through the exhaust system. This prevents melting of cord during an E-stop. . PLASMA COATED Oven Rolls -- Rolls after the dip are coated with a metalized coating. The coated rolls minimize pick off, eliminate static, last longer than Teflon sleeves and are easier to clean than chrome plate. l- t i NANSMITTER LMMI controls the oven temperature and air velocity via precisely located thermocouples and velocity sensors. Additional sensors are placed in strategic places to monitor temperatures throughout II[4PEMTURI SIGt'|AI. HEAIINO SY$EINS Litzler custom designs ovens that are heated efficiently, using the most cost-effective fuel available. Fuel tytrresinclude: . ELECTRIC OLPG & NATURAL GAS . STEAM . FUEL OILS . COAL Direct or indirect heaters are easily integrated into Litzler oven systems. When using LPG gas, natural gas or low sulfur light fuel oil, a direct heating system is recommended. When high sulfur oil, hear,y fuel oil or coal are available, indirect heating methods are recommended. Indirect steam heating also is used in lower-temperature ovens up to 180'C. The most common indirect heating system is the Circulating Heating Fluid System. A high-efficiency heater heats the circulating hot oil up to 315.C. Heat exchangers transfer the hot oil thermal energy to the circulatins air stream. The LMMI recipe manager automatically adjusts speed, oven temperature, tension, stretch and dip pick up, especially simplifying short production runs for the operators. Today's competitive business environment demands excellence in manufacturing. To meet the tire cord industry's high production and safety standards, Litzler uses a computerized control center -- the Litzler Man/Machine Interface (LMMI) -- in every Fabric Treating System' LMMI, the nerve center of the Litzler Fabric Treating System, monitors and records vital production information through hundreds of sensors. By controlling the critical functions via recipe management, LMMI assures that each roll of fabric is of the highest quality. Time, temperature and tension become a function of the computer. . The main operator interface is an easy'to-use, menu-driven graphic display. . LMMI prints a quality report for every roll. . The system PC stores data for historical trending. . A built-in security system prevents human elror. . LMMI's SPC program encourages continuous improvement by providing real'time perforrnance inforrnation and comparing it with defined high and low control limits. . LMMI uses standard commercial software to allow access to custom programming. o Temperature the PLC. o PID loops are controlled through . LMMI includes the Litz-Link modem for communication with our service center. DRIVES ACINVERIER AC INVERTER DRTVES Litzler Vector AC inverter drives provide the highest level of accuracy available and are controlled by LMMI to maintain speed, tension and stretch. . Stretch is maintained setpoint. within +0.1 percent of the . Tension is maintained total rated value. within f).1 percent of the . Speed is maintained to an accuracy of 10.01 percent of set speed. . Precision control allows a speed change from mddmum to zero without loss of tension or damage to the tire cord. AC inverters have a power factor up to .98 and are powered through a common DC buss. Each drive redistributes power depending on whether it is motoring or regenerating. This power distribution reduces utility costs by using only 25 to 30 percent of the total rated (kw) of all drives. ACCESS0RTES SAFETY CHUCKS_ Litzler safety chucks feature convenient handle operation and easily replaceable inserts. A pair of chucks hold fabric packagesup to 3000 kg.
