Join the Fun at Cook’s Pond
Cook’s Pond is a 12 acre pond located off Entrance Way, in Denville.
We are a family oriented swim facility, dedicated to maintaining a clean
safe facility for its members. Resident and non-resident memberships
are available to families, individuals, and seniors. Membership applications are available anytime from the Recreation Office, or at the Gate
at Cook’s Pond during the season.
Last summer we opened the latest addition of our continued improvements at Cook’s Pond. The
new “Bath House” opened Memorial Day Weekend. The bath house contains new Men’s & Ladies
restrooms that include changing stalls, a new First Aid Station/Lake Staff Office and a concession
stand. We will be offering cold drinks, Ice Cream and other snacks to help you better enjoy your
stay at Cook’s Pond.
Improvements for this summer include a picnic pavilion with horse shoe pits, a bocce court and
other surprises. Our goal is to make Cook’s Pond your destination of choice!
As in the past we will continue with our swim lessons, weekend activities for the children, and
back by popular demand the overnight camp out at the pond. There will be new activities this
summer including a fishing contest for kids, and of course there is plenty of room to sunbathe on
our white sand beach.
Grills and picnic tables are available for members use. The pond is also available for small family
picnics (50 people of less) for an additional fee. If you would like to book Cook’s Pond for a picnic
please contact the Recreation Department ay 973-625-8300 ext 238 or call the Cook’s Pond
Office at 973-627-2521. Please remember the pond does not open until Memorial Day Weekend
and no one is at the pond to answer your calls. We need at least 2 weeks notice to book any
picnic, this is to insure lifeguard/staff availability.
The water in the pond is tested every two weeks in accordance with N.J. State regulations to
assure you and your family of clean, safe swimming conditions. So, why spend another summer
stuck in the house-come out and join the fun at Cook’s Pond.
Cook’s Pond will open Memorial Day Weekend and be open Weekends only. As of Monday, June
21st, the pond will be open everyday through Labor Day, September 6th. Hours of operation are
