What to do with Dog Poop? Compost It!
What to do with Dog Poop? Compost It! Doggy Dooley is the original dog waste disposal system that used an in-ground method for easy cleanup of dog waste. Your Doggy Dooley is simple to install and ends your dog waste problems. Having the new Doggie Dooley system you can forget about messy waste disposal problems; simply use the no-bending or stooping scooper to place the waste in the in-ground canister. With the use of environmentally-friendly additives, the waste breaks down easily without releasing any foul odour. Doggy Dooley utilizes non-toxic enzymes and bacteria to digest and liquify the dog waste for ground consumption. It works similarly to a home septic system where waste is absorbed into the ground. The Doggie Dooley can go almost anywhere in your backyard. It is important to keep away from tree roots, vegetable gardens and fruit trees. It is a good idea to use some sort of marker such as a flower garden or place some mulch around the Dooley to help avoid confrontations with the lawn mower - Mr. John Deere usually wins! If you are on well water, be sure to check with the City or Township as to how far digesters should be placed from the well. The same applies to the distance from your septic tank. We do suggest you place the Doggy Dooley within reach of a hose as it is necessary to add water frequently. Try to locate an area of your yard with adequate drainage for maximum results. Once the tank is installed, start the system by first filling the tank with 4 gallons of water mixed with 2 tbsp of the digester powder; a 6 month supply is included with the unit. Clean up the yard waste and drop it into the tank. Clean your yard regularly as it is important not to overload the tank with several days of waste at a time. You must add 1 gallon of water each time waste is added to the tank and the digestive powder is added weekly. The tank can also be used for biodegradable cat litter or biodegradable poop bags as it is prohibited to throw pet waste in the trash. Do not put any clay litter in the Doggy Dooley. Made from durable material, the Doggy Dooley will not break or crack in cold weather with normal use. However, the digester powder becomes inactive when temperatures drop below zero degrees celsius. The digester will slow with cooler temperatures so it is recommended that you add warm water to the tank. If you do discontinue use in the winter or go on vacation for an extended period of time, just repeat the start-up process when you return. #15 - 20811 Fraser Highway, Langley 604.534.5353 harveypetfood.com
