Beer Day
On April 23, 1516, Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria changed
the world for beer lovers everywhere when he proclaimed
a law that would outlast all others in German history:
The Beer Purity Edict. This decree declared that German
beer must contain only four ingredients: malt, hops,
yeast and water. Wilhelm IV was so serious about his
beer standards; he even enacted real penalties for those
who strayed. From that day forth, German brewers have
poured the finest beer using four natural ingredients
(water, yeast, hops and barley) and one-of-a-kind
craftsmanship; and every April 23, we celebrate its
perfection and purity. This German Beer Day, savor
the world’s greatest beer at Las Vegas’ only authentic
beer hall, Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas. Prost!
MAIBOCK IS IN FULL BLOOM
If there’s one thing that’s synonymous with spring, it’s Maibock
brew at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas. Pleasing the palette of beer
drinkers since 1614, Maibock was created by Hofbräuhaus
Brew Master Elias Pichler as an answer to the public’s desire
for a newer and stronger brew. Pichler brought back an older
brewing method that required dark beers to be heated to high
temperatures so they could ferment longer. The result was not
only higher alcohol content, but a fabulously refreshing flavor as
well. With 16 percent original wort and 7.2 percent alcohol by
volume, Maibock is the must-drink flavor of the season. Enjoy
this limited brew beginning April 29 at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas.

As Human Resources Manager with over 35 years in the
Food and Beverage Industry, Christine Masters knows a thing
or two about people—and food. It’s a good thing Hofbräuhaus
Las Vegas is centered around both.
Since 2003, Christine has been the name behind the faces
at Las Vegas’ only beer hall. Interviewing future employees,
hiring, orientation, benefit enrollment and employee
maintenance are just a few things on her daily “To-Do” list.
When she’s not keeping tabs on the dirndl-clad crew, Christine
relishes spending time with her kids and dogs, and watching
football–otherwise known as soccer in her hometown
of London, England.

Wedding Bliss
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something…brew?
This was the case for Angelika and Christian who met on September 24,
2004 in the Hofbräu tent at Oktoberfest, Munich. With a shared love of
Bavarian culture, traveling to the U.S. and adventurous activities such as
ziplining, the pair hit it off and have been together since January 2005.
On Christmas Day 2007, Christian finally popped the question. One
wedding detail that needed no discussion was where the holy matrimony
would take place —at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas, and in full Bavarian attire.
In August 2010, Angelika and Christian exchanged “I Do’s”
under the twinkling lights of the Biergarten in Hofbräuhaus
Las Vegas. A small reception that was big on food, fun,
and, of course beer, followed. Angelika and Christian look
forward to a life of traveling, having fun and enjoying
the good times, together!
In her seven years at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas, Christine’s favorite
memories include the white tent on Flamingo Road in 2003
where they celebrated their first Oktoberfest, and setting up
Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas for the Grand Opening in 2004.
“I love the food and being part of a great family,” says Christine.
Move over Christmas trees, Easter is in the Haus! Every spring, many homes in Germany show off a festive
Easter Tree (Osterbaum). Made from either branches cut
from flowering bushes and put into a vase inside, or from
small trees that are already planted outside, each tree is
decorated with plastic, wooden or real painted eggs
and wreaths. Could this be a new Easter tradition
at your house this year?

Ireland may claim St. Patrick’s Day,

even Irish by birth; he was a Romano Briton Christian
missionary born in England. In fact, his given name
was Maewyn Succat. So this St. Patty’s Day,
grab a stein of your favorite Hofräu beer.

Spring is in the air, and nothing
welcomes the change in weather better
than Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas. We started
the season off by asking all of our Facebook
followers what their favorite Hofbräuhaus
Las Vegas sausage was and how they enjoyed
it. Andy Morales from sunny San Diego was
our winner with Nürnberger Rostbratwürstl.
Our version of this Bavarian favorite features
three sausages roasted to juicy perfection
complemented by sauerkraut and fluffy
mashed potatoes. Andy likes it best with a
little spicy mustard and washed down with a
delicious Hofbräu Dunkel or Original brew.
