Often, it is difficult for young women to make healthy cho ices about sex when they are not asser- tive during sexual encounters, especially if their partnerplays the dominant role in those encounters. Young women must assertively convey the ir sexua l intentions and possess the skills to negotiate safer sex in order to make ch oices for a healthier lifestyle. While males and females are both responsib le for safer sex , the responsibility often falls on the female partner, because males do not always practice safer sex . Previous sessions have focused on the fact that you can protect yourself from engaging in unsafe sex . This session will provide women with the skills to properly use condoms . Through role plays women wi ll also learn how to eroticize condoms to deve lop more pos itive attitude s towards using condoms.
